EURYDICE STOOD IN the Fields of Asphodel as she watched her mother sit in the grass. Her blonde hair was neatly tied back, her tan dress fitting her body perfectly. Newt had joined Eurydice's side. It was a tradition for them to stop by and see their mother before they returned home. Newt could tell that Eurydice was a bit annoyed and Eurydice could tell that Newt was as well.

Eurydice gripped her brother's arm as she watched. The translucent figure of their mother seemed content with her surroundings. Besides the fact that she was translucent, you wouldn't have known that she wasn't living.

Newt had her blonde hair. Eurydice had her blue eyes. Both had stubbornness that would always be unmatched. Angelica had a certain grace to her, she was kind to everyone. Though she had a quick temper. Much like the twins.

"Eurydice? Newt?" Angelica's voice caught both of their ears, now realizing that their mother had spotted them.

Newt's hand tightened on Eurydice's, the girl felt her shoulders drop, "Hi Mom."

"Oh, my babies, look at you!" Angelica's ghost was quick to stand in front of the two, "Still working with your father? You two owe him nothing," She reminded them.

Angelica wanted nothing to do with the Underworld from the start. She never wanted her kids to either. Even in death, she vocalized her distaste for what Hades had his children do.

"Mom, we know," Eurydice's voice wavered ever so slightly, "But we do our part."

Angelica tried not to scoff, "Eurydice, sweetheart. No matter how much you do for them, you'll never get anything in return. Not even their forgiveness for-"

"Mom," Newt gave her a look as he shook his head, "Not today."

Eurydice pursed her lips in a thin line. She knew what her mother was going to say. Not even their forgiveness for your betrayal. Eurydice let go of her brother's hand causing him to look down before looking at her from the side.

"I'm fifteen, I can make my own decisions," Eurydice tilted her head before adjusting her laurel.

"You've never had proper guidance to give you integrity," Angelica pointed her finger before she tried to place a hand on both of the twin's faces, only causing their faces to grow cold due to the feeling, "Neither of you has ever had proper parents."

"And we never will. No one needs parents," Eurydice mumbled as she bit down harshly on her lip.

Eurydice loved her mother, well, what she knew of her mother but she couldn't handle her own emotions. Being a demigod, you were always on the run and tragedy always followed. You never had time to process anything and if you did, you'd be dead.

Eurydice pushed her emotions down which often caused her to snap at people. She'd give harsh remarks or she'd just shut herself off in a way. She never even learned how to process others sharing feelings for her. All she knew was sibling love and friendships.

"Don't talk like that," Angelica huffed as she removed her hands, "Newt, keep an eye on her."

"I do that without anyone telling me," Newt stated, judging by the look in his eye Eurydice knew that he was a bit annoyed.

"I would say that but seeing how both of you act, you're teenagers," Angelica seemed off, Eurydice had never heard her speak like this before.

"Newt, let's go," Eurydice grabbed his forearm, having an off feeling.

Newt looked at his sister. Both had the same confused glint in their eyes as their mother dissolved. The two sighed before making their way back to Charon's boat. He took them back to the entrance before they exited the Underworld. They ended up climbing out from the Hollywood sign. Eurydice heard the alarms set off before she quickly shadow traveled them back to Forks.

Eurydice slumped against the wall in their home as soon as the shadows released them. Newt turned as if he was ready to catch her. She gave him a tiny smile before their clothes began to look normal once more.

"Something was off," Newt spoke as he pulled his sister off of the wall, "Mom was acting odd. Dad and Persephone were acting odd. Demeter was slightly more violent than usual."

Eurydice rolled her eyes with a yawn, "Can this wait a bit? I'm a bit tired big brother," Eurydice faked a pout.

Newt rolled his eyes at her, "Are you trying to drop this for now, or are you actually tired?"

Eurydice faked a confused look, "Oh? Me? Dropping a conversation for sleep - something I strive to do," She grinned before going to run.

"Not so fast!" Newt tried to catch her but the girl bolted.

Eurydice laughed as she slipped around the couch trying to get away from her brother. The two-run around the house tripping over rugs and different pieces of furniture. Eurydice ran into her room and quickly shut the door, holding it shut as her brother tried to get it open.

"Oh come on little sis! Gotta open up or I'm coming in!" Newt yelled as he laughed.

Eurydice couldn't help but grin a bit, "Oh really? If we play this game, big brother, we'll never stop. Well, not until one of us passes out."

The jolts of the door caused her to move a bit but she made sure to keep it shut. Laughs leaving both twins' lips as they tried to figure out a good move. Newt used his abilities to shadow travel into the room before launching after Eurydice who laughed loudly before disappearing into the living room.

"OH! So this is how we are going to play?!" Newt yelled out, his tone making it well notable that he was grinning.

"Newt, come on, I wanna nap," Eurydice was laughing wildly, her curls all over the place as she fell over the couch, before laying on the floor.

"Fine, I'll let you nap," Newt sighed as he fell over the couch as well, startling Eurydice.

Eurydice let out a laugh as she got herself to her feet. She ignored the slight dizziness that she had earned due to standing up so fast. She rolled her eyes before she began to walk a bit away, felling her brother's eyes on her.

━━✶━━

Eurydice walked down the street, a few days had passed since her visit to the Underworld. Port Angeles wasn't that crowded and it was night, so not many people were out. Eurydice's curls were tied back in a messy bun. She wore a red t-shirt under her leather jacket. Her pale skin seemingly reflected the lights of the buildings as the moon reflected the sun.

The wind nipped at her skin causing her cheeks to tinge a slight red color. She was trying to retrace her steps to find her mother's bracelet which she had apparently lost a few hours prior. Her wrist felt empty and she hated it with a passion.

She looked up the staircase of a book shop. Her hand reached back to feel the knife in the back of her jeans. She felt unsafe, and she was not sure why. She slowly walked up the stairs before pulling the door open and entering. She sucked in a deep breath as she felt the familiar feeling of death.

"Welcome in, Ms," The clerk smiled at her before moving away.

Eurydice simply nodded. She remembered that she had walked through the mythology section, she had looked over different types of what some might call 'vampires' but to her, they were just another set of monsters.

Eurydice looked over the floor carefully and even looked on the shelves to see if she could find her bracelet. Trying to find the lyre and skull charmed bracelet was something that would consume her time till she found it.

Eurydice chewed on her lip as she looked repeatedly. She pulled books back repeatedly and looked over and over again in the books that she knew she had touched. She turned to look down once more before feeling the familiarity of death before she ran smack into a hard chest. As hard as a brick wall that startled her.

Eurydice moved back off of the Cullen, trying to hide her defensive mode, "Sorry," She mumbled out roughly.

"Don't apologize, ma'am. It was my fault." The thick southern drawl shocked Eurydice, she hadn't heard him speak before.

"Okay.." Eurydice's eyes met with the familiar amber ones that belonged to Jasper Hale, she became extremely skeptical. "I best be -" Eurydice was cut off much to her distaste.

"Jazz! There you are. Oh! You are Eurydice, right? I'm Alice." The pixie-like girl grinned happily as she was immediately at Jasper's side.

Eurydice quickly noticed the way she carried herself. The way she bounced on her feet and was free. Most likely, in her past, she hadn't been free most likely locked away from anyone and everyone. That's mainly what Eurydice gathered just by looking at the teenager.

"Yeah. I am," Eurydice replied shortly before composing herself, "It's nice to meet you Alice... and Jasper I think." Eurydice played dumb deciding that in her moment that it was her best bet.

Jasper cracked a small grin, clearly forced as his body seemed strained by the need for restraint. "You are correct."

The way he carried himself, Eurydice assumed he had seen a line of combat before though there was absolutely no chance that he had. He stood as if he had military experience and as if he held a chain of command.

"When you are done here do you need a ride home?" Alice asked as she grabbed the girl's hands, Eurydice's eyes held a guarded look at the action. "We could drive you." She offered.

A monster offering me a ride. Huh, I'm not as dumb as believed. Eurydice couldn't help but think as she immediately pulled her hands back. She did not trust either of these... whatever they were. Despite something inside of her wanting to, she knew she'd die if she did,

Eurydice's face heated up, whether it be due to the burning uncomfortable feeling bubbling in her chest or the hatred that caused anger to electrify her veins, "I don't... I don't want to be a bother. Nor do I need a ride," Eurydice spat out the last part, her emotions seemingly switching repeatedly causing her to grow annoyed.

"Nonsense! We can take you home, right Jazz?" Alice turned to Jasper, the smile on her face only widening.

"I do not need a ride," Eurydice repeated trying to get ahold of herself.

"Right." Jasper gave a swift nod, only responding to Alice's words.

Eurydice looked between the two as she felt like she was in a dream. It's as if she had lost all control of herself and her emotions, making her give in unwillingly, "Oh - okay." She managed to fumble out.

"So it's settled!" Alice beamed happily as she watched Eurydice stand there with no clue of what to do, or at least that's what Eurydice had led Alice to believe.

Eurydice knew that the Cullen family never associated with anyone but themselves and based on the word of the teenagers in Forks. Monsters often tried to get close to their poor demigod victims in any way. Despite not having seemingly any control of her emotions, Eurydice was on high alert and knew to use her weapon when needed.

Eurydice's thoughts were disrupted when a hand tugged at her wrist. The icy-cold feeling makes the girl's expression coil.

"Oh and Eurydice, I think you dropped this. I recall you wearing this in class the other day and I found it here a few minutes ago." Jasper's drawl brought Eurydice's attention back to them as he held up a rose gold bracelet that held a lyre charm and a skull charm.

Eurydice's eyes widened, he held her bracelet. "Oh, my gods - yes. I did." She was relieved that someone had found it and returned it to her but she still did not trust these two as far as she could throw them.

"Here, let me help you put it on." Alice hummed as she took the bracelet from Jasper before clasping it around Eurydice's wrist before the demigod had time to react. "There."

"Thanks," Eurydice spoke although it came out like a whisper, she sucked in a sharp breath.

Eurydice let the two walk out first, staying behind so that she had a view of what they were doing. She did not trust them enough to be in front. If her back was to them it was unsafe, they would have an advantage point.

She carefully entered the back of Rosalie Hale's Mercedes-Benz CLK 350. Eurydice mode her dagger from the back of her jeans to up her sleeve, being careful with how she held it. The car ride was silent, other than the Cullen and Hale asking for directions to her home. She wasn't giving them the full directions though.

"Don't be shy or nervous, we don't bite," Alice spoke up after a bit, a knowing grin flashing over her face.

Eurydice subconsciously grabbed the sleeve that hid her dagger, "I'm not."

"Is it your brother that you live with?" Alice seemed to have all the questions, now asking about who lived within her house. Possibly trying to figure out how much food she'd be eating.

"Yes. My twin brother and our best friends." Eurydice answered as she stared at her bracelet, keeping her answers as vague as she could without it being questionable.

"Twin?" Jasper spoke as he focused on driving and making conversation, which only added to Eurydice's wariness, "Which one is your twin?"

"Newt. The one I stand in the parking lot with. Sandy blonde hair that looks way too fluffy to be hair. Often looks annoyed," Eurydice wanted to add 'when you guys stared at me' but decided against it.

Alice and Jasper both let out a laugh, the sound sending chills down Eurydice's spine. "That is quite the description." Alice smiled back at her, Eurydice only giving a nod.

"Yeah well do not ask him for one on me. He'll probably just say 'brunette that looks like a murder.'" She quoted her brother's past description of her. "And the other guy who lives with us is Kaz. Raven hair and blue eyes, be careful near him. He likes to pitch pockets similar to his younger brother, Titus. Curly dark hair, dark eyes, and a complex for always winning."

"Oh?" Jasper didn't know whether to question further or to leave it at that, but Eurydice wasn't giving any more descriptions.

"Mhm." Eurydice's eyes narrowed slightly as her emotions shifted once more.

Alice grinned. "Eurydice, why don't you sit with us at lunch tomorrow?" Red flag number 900.

Eurydice went still for a moment as she thought about it, not wanting to but not wanting to seem rude. "Would your family be okay with it? I don't want to intrude and.."

"And everyone tells you we keep to ourselves?" Jasper asked with slight annoyance that was clearly not aimed at Eurydice which confused her.

Eurydice shifted uncomfortably, feeling as if they were onto her. "Yeah..."

"Our family will not mind. Don't worry and as for the others don't pay any mind to them." Alice hummed before they stopped at the woods, "Here we are?"

"Okay." Eurydice nodded slowly, immediately regretting agreeing, "Thank you guys for the ride. It means a lot." She spoke as she unbuckled herself and opened the door.

"No problem ma'am." Jasper flashed her a grin which caused her body to freeze momentarily.

"Bye!" Alice waved with a gleaming look.

"I'll see you both tomorrow," Eurydice stated plainly.

She led them to the woods about a mile from her home before exiting the vehicle, nodding one last time before she disappeared from their sight. She did not want them to know her family's location nor did she trust them enough to lead them closer. She shadow traveled once she was sure they couldn't see her. Sighing in relief once she reached back to her home.

"Eurydice? It's been a few hours," Newt was clearly worried as he rose to his feet.

"Yeah, I lost my bracelet so I retraced my steps before finding it," Eurydice spoke trying to make sure her brother did not know who drove her home.

"Oh," Newt nodded slowly before sighing, "Started to get worried."

"I can hold my own," Eurydice held a small smirk, "You gotta trust me. Now, where's Titus and Kaz?"

"Kaz went out for a run, Titus is messing around with a few old types of vinyl he has," Newt explained.

Fuck. Kaz was would running. Kaz was a son of Hermes and was incredibly lucky when it came to the abilities he inherited, he was an extremely good liar but he also had gained his father's unnatural running speed. You could never beat Kaz in any game that includes hiding or running.

Eurydice nodded slowly, though Newt must've noticed something, "Your face flashed with worry."

"What?" Eurydice scoffed, "Did not."

"Oh, now you're trying to deny it," Newt crossed his arms as his foot tapped against the ground, "Spill little sis."

Eurydice rolled her eyes as she blew a bit of her hair from her eyes, "There is nothing to spill - Woah!"

A flash zipped through the room causing a bit of a disruption. A faint sound of a door opening and closing blew through in an instant.

"Why was there a red car leaving the woods?" Kaz questioned as he fixed himself a cup of water.

Newt's eyes widened as he turned back to Eurydice with a look a mother or father would give to scold their child, "So you knew nothing of this?"

"You caught me there," Eurydice huffed, "Nah man got no other words."

"Who's car was it?" Newt questioned as he turned to the son of Hermes, Eurydice quickly shook her head making a motion with her hand as if saying 'don't you dare'.

"I've seen it at school before. I think it belongs to the Hale twin's," Kaz states before immediately cowering under Eurydice's glare.

"The Hale twins?" Newt questioned with venom as he turned to look at his sister, "Who were you with?"

"Newt," Eurydice swallowed not wanting to fight with her brother.

"Who was it?" His voice was stern.
