when it was Thursday I did not log in to the OASIS during the day. because I already had to log in tonight because I promised Arty that I would be there in the Distracted Globe. when it was almost 10 PM I put on my headset and logged in, put on some kind of dress I liked and teleported to the dance club.
after walking around for a few minutes I found Parzival surrounded by people. when the people went back to what they were doing I walked his way.
i tapped his shoulder and when he turned around i walked the other way and tapped his other shoulder so he turned around again and saw me.
"Get out of town! Buckaroo Banzai?"
"Huh?" he said confused
"I like it. I like Buckaroo Banzai." i complimented him
"Oh, thanks!" he said and started smiling
"You look... Oh. You look awesome!" he said
"Thank you." i said and smiled at him.
eventually Arty joined us too and the three of us walked around.
"The Distracted Globe was one of the first clubs Halliday created in the OASIS. That's common knowledge. But I double-checked and it turns out he started building it right after that moment you showed me." Arty started explaining
"The date with Kira."
"Right, and she was a serious dancer. Maybe he thought he'd take her here, like on a virtual date." She explained
"As if that ever works." I said to the two.
"So Halliday built it for her?" i asked Arty
"But they never made it past the first date. So Halliday's the creator..." Arty starts
"Who hates his own creation." Z finished
"And the club is the thing he hates." I said
"And "A hidden key, a leap not taken?" I ask
Arty points to the platform from which hundreds of people jump off every evening.
"But people jump off it all night long." Z said
"But none of those people had the Copper Key, so when we jump off, maybe it's different. Right?" Arty said
"Right." Z said.
"So we take it together?" Arty asks us
"Sure."
Arty took Parzival's hand.
"We're not clanning up or anything." she jokes
"Of course not. I don't clan." Z said
Z grabs my hand before Arty jumped of the platform
"Wait..." I said
"I don't think this is it. No scoreboard, no obstacles." Z said
"Maybe a dance challenge?" Arty said
Arty started dancing while I just watched.because I can't dance.parzival started playing Stayin Alive by the Bee Gees and some sort of platform appeared below him.
"Old-school!" Arty said and the two of them started dancing randomly to the music. eventually the platforms disappeared and Z took my hand again and Parzival and I started dancing to.
"So, I've been thinking. Maybe it'd be cool if we met up in the real world." he said
"No, you'd be disappointed." I said
"No, I wouldn't. I like you." he said
"You don't even know me. This isn't what I really look like. This isn't my real body, or my real face." I said to him
"I don't care. I wanna know your real name." he said and i started laughing.
"My name's Wade." he suddenly said causing me to stop laughing and look at him
"What?"
"I said my name's..." he tried saying again but i pushed him away
"Stop!"
"Are you crazy? You don't tell anyone who you are. You can't use your real name." I said
"You're not just anyone." Z said back
"You don't know me. You don't know anything about me. We've never met." i stated and I started to feel frustrated.
"I do know you, (G/T). I'm in love with you." he said and my eyes widen in shock
after Z said that, the roof broke open and IOI employees came in and started shooting people. when they saw us they started shooting at us.
"Is this part of the challenge?" Z asked
"No." Arty said as she came next to us
"It's an ambush."
the three of us hid under some sort of broken glass dome. Arty grabbed a weapon from her inventory and started shooting the Sixers.
"Did you hear what I said? I said I'm in love with you." Z said to me
"No, you're not." I said back after shooting a few Sixers
"You only know what I want you to know. You only see what I want you to see. That's what you're in love with." i said to him and continued shooting
"Watch out!" Arty yelled and a second later the dome we hid under was destroyed.
"Head back! Z! Your armor is running low." Arty yells at Z
"I just bought this." Z said and threw a cube in the air
"Zemeckis Cube. Turns everything back in time 60 seconds." he explained
"And you waited until now to use it?" Arty yelled at him
we ran when the Sixers were gone. when we went to an exit we landed on the ground again. we stopped running and Z was about to say something when Arty suddenly kicked him away.
"Arty what are you doing!" I yelled at her
"This isn't a game, Z. I'm doing this to stop IOI. I'm talking about real-world consequences. People suffering. Actual life-and-death stuff." she told him
"I know. I know..."
"No, you don't know! My dad died in a loyalty center. He borrowed gear. He built up debt. He moved in with the promise of working it off, but he never did. IOI just raised his living expenses, then he got sick, and he couldn't afford to get out. And then he died!" she yelled
"I'm so sorry, I didn't..." Z tried to reason with her
"No, you don't live in the real world, Z." Arty said and started backing-up
"From what you've told me, I don't think you ever have. You live inside this... This illusion, and I can't afford to let you distract me." she said and ran off.
Z looked at me now, but I didn't look at him."I'm sorry"I logged out before he could say anything.I disconnected and walked into the living room and dropped onto the couch. (D/N) then came to me with her harness in her/his mouth. I stroked her/him. "Sorry girl/boy I don't feel like walking right now."
I got off the couch walked to the kitchen and grabbed some microwave food. when it was done I grabbed a plate put the food on it and walked back to the couch.when I finished my food, I (D/N) gave her/his food.I heard a notification come in on my headset.I picked it up and saw it was Arty.

when I looked at the address I saw that she only lived a few miles from me. after a few minutes I decided it might be the best option to go there. I quickly sent a message to her that I was coming. I quickly grabbed the harness from (D/N) put it on her/him and grabbed the rest of my stuff.
I leashed (D/N) and started the walk to the indicated address.

When I got to the building I opened the door and saw that someone was waiting for me.the girl walked towards me."are you (G/T)?"I nodded"yes, but my real name is (Y/N) (L/N) and this is (D/N)." I said and pointed to my dog. "Okay, my name is Samantha Cook, come with me."
After Samantha showed me around and were i would be staying, I started playing fetch with (D/N). After a few minutes a lot of noice came from outside and a man with a tattoo on his face walked in holding a person who has a bag over his head.
"whats going on, who is this?" I aksed Samantha
"just wait (Y/N)" Samantha said

after a while he started to wake up. Samantha was sitting in a chair opposite him and I was sitting a little further away with (D/N).
"Sorry about the blindfold. My guys are a little paranoid." Samantha said to him
"Say that again." he said
"My guys are a little paranoid." she said.
"Art3mis?" he asked
"My real name is Samantha, but yeah, I'm Art3mis."
(D/N) barked and picked up her/his toy and walked over to Samantha. since we got here (D/N) and Samantha got along really well. I follow (D/N) and sat down next to Samantha.
"(G/T)?"
I nodded. "my real name is (Y/N) (L/N)."
"Showers are that way, clean clothes, too." I said to him
