Y/n's pov
I was laying in a bed in Med Bay, with a rare illness, and the cure felt like it was taking a year to make.
"Don't die on me, alright Darlin?"
I looked at Bones and I smiled tiredly.
"I can't make any promises."
I coughed.
I saw his face turn to worry.
He sat down next to my bed holding my hand.
"The cure will be ready soon, alright?"
I smiled softly "Alright."
I fell asleep.
I woke up a few hours later, and my body turned as I involuntarily emptied my stomach onto the floor.
"Ugh." I said as Bones ran in.
"Sorry."
He smiled "Don't apologize Darlin, you're sick, I'll get this cleaned up."
I fell asleep again.
I woke up to something cold being pressed up against my neck.
I heard it hiss.
I opened my eyes and I saw Bones above me, holding a hypospray.
"Feeling better?"
I took in a breath "No."
My nausea went away.
"Yes." I said, sighing.
"Thank you, Bones."
"That wasn't the cure, it was something to help with your nausea."
I smiled "Thank you."
He smiled back "You're welcome, I'll go get you some soup, sit tight Darlin."
Nurse Chapel walked in the room a few minutes later, taking my temperature and asking me if I felt okay.
She felt my face, and her hand was ice cold, and honestly, it felt great.
"Ooh, you're burning hot." She said, putting both of her icy hands on my face.
She noticed my empty water cup.
"Would you like me to bring you some more water?"
I nodded "Yes please, but could you make cold water?"
She nodded "Yes, I will be right back."
After she left, Bones came in, holding a tray.
I smiled weakly.
He put the tray down, and he grabbed a cool towel, which he placed on my forehead, it was really cold, but it felt so good on my hot forehead.
I sighed in content.
"Thank you, Bones."
"You're welcome, y/n."
"I got you some cold water."
"Thank you, again." I smiled.
*Three days later*
I woke up to a cold hypospray being pressed up against my neck.
I looked up at Bones.
"That better be the cure." I muttered tiredly, softly smirking.
"It is the cure, Darlin."
I sighed in content, smiling wide.
"Thank you."
He smiled.
"You're welcome, Darlin."
