"Babe, it's time to wake up. Your shoot will start in an hour, we're gonna be late," Yeji whispered, gently shaking the girl's back, she tuck Karina's hair behind her ear
She smiled to herself. "I wish I can wake up next to you everyday,"
Karina opened her eyes, meeting Yeji's. She beamed a sweet smile at her
"Goodmorning to you too."
Yeji pulled away and chuckled. She went to Karina's closet and wore the first hoodie she saw.
"Let's shower together?"
"Yeji!" Karina stifled a smile
"As much as I want to take a shower with you just like the old days, I don't want to." She politely declined
"Bummer." Yeji bit her lower lip, struggling to hide the wide smile plastered on her face
"Well, it's not like I haven't seen you naked though, I understand. I'm still courting you anyways." She added
Karina was flustered, her cheeks began to tint a little red. "You and your flattering words,"
Yeji walked back to the bed as she reached for Karina's hand, forcing her to stand up
Their little moment was interrupted by a sudden knock on the door.
Yeji attached herself on Karina's back, resting her head on the latter's shoulder as they make their way to open the door
Karina opened the door and a hesitant Winter greeted them both. She had an awkward smile crossing over her face
"Uhh.. I just wanna say breakfast's ready." Winter scratched her nape as she look away from them
It's a sore in her eyes. Yeji's tightly backhugging Karina while sniffing her neck, and Winter doesn't know if she's making her jealous intentionally or not but maybe it's the first option because Yeji's feline eyes never left Winter's
She wanted to roll her eyes at the sight but decided not to. It's morning, it should be a great day, well, not anymore to her
Before Karina can even speak, Yeji obstructed
"We're running late, sorry maybe you can eat with Yeonjun instead, he's in the next room." Yeji faked a smile
Karina can feel the tension arousing around them so she decided to pull Yeji in the kitchen instead to drink a cold glass of water
Winter followed them like a lost puppy,, and she honestly wanted to pluck her eyeballs out at the scene infront of her
Even when Yeji's drinking water she never let go of Karina's waist, she's like a koala clinging on Karina for her dearlife
"Karina, you want some coffee?" Winter offered
Once again before Karina can even speak Yeji went ahead
"She doesn't drink coffee." Yeji hissed
Winter was confused. "What? But it's your favourite right?"
"Well, not anymore you see?" Yeji rolled her eyes at the latter
Winter exhaled through her nose, calming her nerves to not argue with Yeji. Karina pulled away from the hug and that's when Winter's eyes landed on the hoodie Yeji is wearing
"Isn't that mine?" She asked to herself
Winter shook her head, maybe it's just similar to the hoodie she gave Karina. "Atleast eat something before you go? I made some pancakes,"
Yeji heaved a sigh. "I told you we're late, we can grab some food on the way to work."
Karina gripped her hold on Yeji tightly. "Sorry Winter, we really have no time. I appreciate the gesture though,"
Winter slowly nodded her head. She woke up early to make her some breakfast only for it to go to waste. But atleast she tried
"Come on babe, let's take a shower." Yeji said in a nonchalant way
Winter on the otherhand wondered if she heard it right.
'Don't say anything Winter'
'Don't say anyth-'
"Gatekeeping my girl huh?" She murmured but it didn't escape from Yeji's ears
Her eyes turn towards her, "What did you say?"
Karina frowned immediately, "If you guys wanna argue, go grab some kitchen knives there I don't have time for this." She yanked her hand away from Yeji, as she abruptly left
Instead of following Karina, Yeji remained still in her position. Winter stared back, their gaze was intense and she suddenly had the urge to back down
"Karina was slowly getting better until you came back." She started, slowly nearing towards her
"Why did you come back? Is your girlfriend not enough? Do you know how much Karina suffered inside those five years? Do you even know she have suicidal tendencies? Do you fucking know that everytime she breakdowns on me your name's the only thing that escapes her mouth? She's fucking broken, and it's all because of you." Yeji pointed her chest repeatedly with clenched jaw
She breathed deeply, "I'll make up to her, I'll love her-"
"You think that's fucking enough? How dumb are you? Where do you find the courage to just show up into our faces and act like nothing happened when you shattered almost everything!"
"How much do you know about us?" Winter solemnly asked
"Every fucking thing. I know what every little things she loves about you, the details of how you torture her. How you didn't let her explain her side, and just left. You don't deserve Karina." Yeji turned away
"And you do?" Winter swallowed
She stopped.
"I know I can love her better, but she's not yet ready for that." Yeji chuckled dryly
"And why is that?" Winter raised a brow
Yeji remained silent.
"If you know everything about our past then you should've known what her father did to m-"
Yeji slammed Winter's back on the refrigerator, this time more furious than earlier
"Bullshit! You're fucking unfair! She is different from her father, Winter. Out of all people you should've known that. Fucking wake up! Karina sued her own father for you, is that fucking enough for you to know that she hates him just as much as you hate her?!" Yeji yelled
Winter froze, she couldn't find the next words to say. It was still processing in her mind.
"You hurt her, and I'll make sure you'll never see her again, Winter. Five years is enough. Let Karina be happy for fucks sake!" Her voice almost broke and that's when Winter finally realized it. . . Yeji is much more deserving of Karina's love more than her
Her head hung low, she stayed like that for awhile only to be brought back into reality a few minutes later
"Winter? You good? I heard screaming earlier, what happened?" Yeonjun had a worried look over his face
Her tears fell. And, she couldn't breathe. She turned away with her eyes full of tears.
"I'm sorry."
'I wish you knew how bad it fucked me up'
"I'm sorry,"
'I almost wished we never met'
"I'm sorry."
'I was going through hell and your solution was to leave,'
"I'm so, so sorry."
Winter fell on her knees. She didn't know where her feet took her but she didn't care. She kneeled, feeling weak. Her breathing is unstable and even if she tried to wipe her tears away, it wouldn't stop falling out of her orbs.
"I don't deserve her but god, I want to. I will be better, I will try, I want to spend the rest of my life trying to deserve you, Karina."
It's never gonna be the same between them and it kills her. She regret giving up on her, and only God knows how much Winter wanted to turn back the time to do what she never had the chance to fulfill back then and that is to fight for her even if the whole world is against them.
She wanted to fight for what they had. For their love. Is it already too late?
It hurts. A lot. Because she decided to leave like Karina wasn't an enough reason to stay.
