Destiny POV
This morning I got up and got ready for dance
I was wearing a black hoodie with the ALDC in white and red with my hair in a high ponytail
"Des can you do Press's hair" my moms asked as I was putting my plate in the sink
"sure" I walked over to her on the couch and did her hair in a high bun
"ow ow that hurts" she complained
"I put in two bobby pins relax"
We then headed to the studio and we where all kinda nervous since someone was going home after this week
"alright lets go lets go ok im happy with that the group won and im also happy that the duets had a clean sweep and that's the way it should be but i am certainly not happy with the way everyone behaved at the competition we had kids crying kids making mistakes in the numbers kids threatening to quit we have an entire group of women who are jealous of a 14 year old boy and girl i will not stand the jealousy i watched it before i did it i was apart of it and Destiny was in the middle of it for a long time all i was concerned with was the win" she said and continued for a little bit and I zoned out till I heard my name
"Brady, Destiny you are clearly the best dancers on this team but i'm not gonna put all my eggs in one basket i've made that mistake before so regardless of the talent Bradys is going on a break" my jaw dropped and I looked down
"Abby what does that mean he's going on a break"
"he's going home and each and everyone of you girls are going to learn what it's like to carry the routine yourselves Destiny does it all the time but you can't hide behind her" she said
Trisha blamed Stacey for going home which doesn't make since cause Abby doesn't even decide who stays and who comes on the team
She then got to pyramid

Our group this week was a tribute to queen and it was called King of Queens
There where four solos and a duet
The solos where Brady Gia Hannah and I and Pressley had an off show solo
"Destiny you have a solo and it's entitled Ashes and I thought about this for a long time you will be competing in the senior division you take classes with seniors and it's obvious no one on this team is competition for you" She told me and I nodded and she gave out the rest of the solos
"I also have a duet with Brady and Destiny"
We looked at each other and smiled "the style is different it's Cha Cha and it's call What If but the full title is What If I Told You I Liked You" she said with a smirk and the moms and girls laughed and we had a small blush with a shy smile "so Destiny or Ashley I need one of you to contact Melissa and Mackenzie and ask if we can use her song" she said and we nodded
She sent the moms upstairs and after we warmed up we started the group
After group practices Abby started on solos "Ok Destiny I'm gonna send you in with Kate for your solo"
I nodded and went in studio B and saw Kate and a few other seniors who had just finished rehearsing
Kate explained my solo and we started working on it
After about 2 hours I had learned it all and was cleaning it
2 days till competition
I was at the kitchen counter with my sister and mom and I was about to FaceTime Kenzie
"What are you gonna say" Pressley asked me as she ate cereal
"Don't know I'm just gonna wing it" i shrugged and pressed the call button and she answers after a few rings
"Hey Destiny" she smiled
"Hi Kenz how are you"
"I'm good what's up"
"I have a question for you and your mom"
"Oh she's right here"
"Hi honey" I heard Melissa say and I smiled
"Hi"
"So what's your question"
"So...I know you probably don't wanna hear about the show...but I have a duet with a boy on the team-"
"Wait there's a boy on the team"
"Yeah"
"Do you like him" she smiled with wiggling her brows
"Maybe but anyways I was wondering if we...could maybe use...yours and Johnnys song for the duet" I asked a little nervous
"Uh yeah I'll ask Johnny which I'm sure he's ok with" she said with a shrug and I sighed in relief
"Ok thanks Kenz"
We talked a little more then I headed to the studio
I was wearing a black crop top and black biker shorts with my hair in 2 french braids
After we ran solos Brady and I went in to learn the duet
"So is it ok to use the song" Abby asked as the girls walked in the den
"Yeah Kenzie said it was fine" I nodded
"Ok let's get started so your gonna have a prob that's only gonna be used for the beginning of the dance and" she said and we started working on the duet and it was really good
"Ok Destiny got to studio B and get your heels" she said outta nowhere
"Wait I'm dancing in heels"
"Mhm" she nodded and I went and got the heels
I'm really nervous for this duet now that I know I'm dancing in heels
1 day till competition
We where in the studio working on the group and it was pretty good
I was wearing a red ALDC sports bra and black leggings with my hair in a low ponytail and accidentally ended up matching with Brady
We ran the group then we ran solos
After GiaNina Hannah and Brady I ran my solo with the skirt on my costume after I put my ankle boots with heels (that where really cute) on and Brady and I ran out duet and the girls where living for it
"Alright call your moms down" Abby told us and we all motioned for them to come down and we lined up and I was between Brady and Hannah
"Moms do you understand there's a lot on the line with these solos"
"Yes"
"Our of those 3 soloist I don't know Gianna I think someone from another studio is gonna take the win" Abby motioned to GiaNina Hannah and Brady
"No Brady's gonna win" Trisha spoke up
"We'll no Brady and Destiny are gonna win" Abby agreed
"You sit here and you say you want 8 stars right"
"I do"
"We'll those two are superstars" she pointed to Brady and I "find 3 more Brady's and Destiny's if they can't dance with them send them home it's not my fault your kids not as good as mine stupid Abby send them all home" Trisha said heated
Wow ok I know she complemented me but throwing my sister and best friends under the bus was really uncalled for
She explained to us why she is sending Brady home and sent us in the den to get ready to go on the bus
I threw on a ALDC hoodie and leggings and grabbed my dance bag my school bag and got on the bus
Competition day
We got to the competition and it was snowing
We put our snow jackets on and walked in the competition and the crowd was screaming
I took a few pictures with fans and we went in the dressing room and got ready for the solos
I did my hair which was in a bun and I did natural makeup
I put my AirPods in and marked my dance and the moms where arguing but I blocked them out
This dance is really important since I'm in the senior division
Abby walked in and stopped the argument but I wasn't listening to what she was saying and I went and put my costume on
We had to contour our muscles on "I've never done this before" GiaNina laughed a little as Stacey did her contour
"It's like an Abby thing"
After Abby talked to the soloist we went backstage
Brady was in the wings about to go first "good luck Brads" I whispered and kissed his cheek
He went onstage and did amazing then Hannah Pressley and GiaNina went I went in the wings when they started announcing senior dancers
I did the ALDC ritual and went in the wings
At then end of my solo I got a standing ovation and I was really proud of myself
I got offstage and my team hugged me and we ran in the dressing room and I hugged my mom
Abby came in she thought we all did really good then Brady and I got ready for our duet while the girls got ready for the group
Brady and I marked the dance and felt pretty confident about it
Abby gave us a pep talk and we went backstage
Before I number got called we hugged "we got this" he kissed my forehead and went in the other wing

We got offstage and hugged tight then went back to the dressing room
We hugged our moms and when miss abby came in she thought we did good then we got ready for the group "Destiny come here" Miss abby said and I got up and walked over to her "for the group I'm gonna have you do your half up half down with that clip ok" she said and I nodded
I seen the moms confused but didn't say anything until we walked out to go backstage
After the group we all think we did really good and sat onstage for awards
In the 12-14 solos
Hannah got 7th
Pressley got 3rd
Brady got 2nd
Gia got 1st
"Now in the senior advance solos first overall with the highest scoring solo of the day is Ashes" I smiled big and stood up to get my trophy that was about my height and took a bow then sat down and we waited for the group
We got first and we all cheered and took a bow then after we headed to the dressing room cheering and I went and hugged my mom "oh that trophy is almost bigger then you" my mom laughed and I smiled
We sat down and a few minutes later Miss Abby came in and she tried to change the scores for Brady and Gia's solos
"Congratulations Destiny you got the highest scoring solo of the day in the senior division I'm so proud of you you were beautiful today" she smiled and I smiled back
"Thank you"
She talked about the group and just like always something sparked and argument and the kids left the room
I went and changed and we all ran in the dressing room after hearing there was cake but it was thrown on the floor so we just ate the part that didn't touch the floor
"What are you guys doing" "are you eating it off the floor" "That's disgusting" The moms said when they walked back in and we just laughed and ate some more then packed up and went home
