They look happy. She is smiling and so is he. I ease up looking at my mother's happy appearance
Mom:"jen, this is Paul, Paul this is hen" she introduces us to one another
Paul:"pleasure to meet you jen, I have heard so much about you" he smiles. He's got a nice smile
"all good things I hope" I laugh and they join.
We spend the next few hours talking and getting to know each other. Paul - Paul bettany is a really good guy. I happy for mom. She deserves happiness.
"alright guys its getting late I better go, early morning" I admit
Paul:"I hope to meet soon again jen"
"you got it!" I smile and mom walks me to the stairs
Mom:"so? Thought?" she says nervously
"ma, calm down. He is great, you guys are great, I'm so happy for you mom" I warmly smile and I see her relax
Mom:"I didn't know how you would feel with the whole liz thing recently"
"you two deserve each other, I love you mom"
Mom:"I love you baby" we share a hug before I go up to bed.
I woke up before everyone the next morning and was gone before they woke. Long journey.
After hours of driving I end up at the apartment.
"honey I'm home!"
Scar:"this was a long weekend without you" she says while hugging me and I see brie pop around the corner
Brie:"so how are you?" she asks
"honestly much better, being home is what I needed" I answer honestly.
Scar:"that's great jen, now come on, let's have a lazy day all three of us"
"I'm in!"
We spent the day watching movies and eating. I went to bed early enough for college in the morning..... With liz. I can do this! Right?
I almost punch my alarm clock. I don't wanna be awake right now. Nevertheless I get dressed and make my way to campus. I wait until a lot of people enter lizzies class. I can't face her alone.
She stands at the top of the room as beautiful as ever. She is wearing a pantsuit that we have never seen before. Well I have - wardrobe perks
Liz:"alright guys, clear your tables, we are having a revision exam on the past few topics" she says as everyone groans in annoyance.
All this stuff was covered when I was in hospital. I haven't even looked at this shit. Ahhhh fuck it
I put up my hand
Liz:"yes?"
"I had medical leave for these chapters, therefore I don't have them done"
Liz:"Well with all the time off you had couldn't you have taken a bit of time to study?" I hear the class go oooooo.
Oh shut it.
I don't bother to answer. Let's get this over with.
THE NEXT DAY
Oh wow would you look at that - a fail. I look at the test handed back to me. I told her I didn't know. She didn't seem to care. I don't blame her.
The next few weeks consisted of me failing or barely passing her tests. I don't bother to raise my hand or even try that hard in assignments. It's too much.
The Katie situation is still as bothering as ever. I keep in touch with her only because she keeps texting me telling me how much she loves me and stuff.
I must admit texting with her isn't terrible but I would rather text someone else.
It's one month till graduation and I'm just holding on. Barely.
I have just finished my psychology class and I am sitting at a table on campus. I look up to see liz has sat on the table across from me.
I can't help but notice her messy hair in the wind. Her cute focus face on her work.
I was pulled out of my gaze by a voice.
Katie:"babyyyy" she sits beside me
"what are you doing here?!" I notice that liz is looking at us
Katie :"seeing my girlfriend" she says and plants a quick peck on the lips. Before I could do anything it was over and i look to see that lizzie is gone. Fuck
I sigh and put my head in my hands.
Katie:"come on lets do something fun"
"what?" I ask annoyed
Katie:"ugh remember when you used to get stressed and we always used to go to the skate park and eat shit the whole time" she laughs and I join
"Katie are you crazy? It's been years" I exclaim
Katie :"I bet you still have your skateboard huh?"
"maybe..."
Katie :"pack your shit we are moving"
We quickly pack my stuff and go to my car. I have my board in the trunk so we drive to the nearest skatepark.
We spend hours just skating around and falling most of the time. Hy the end we were both covered in bruises.
"this was fun. Thanks Kate"
Katie:"you haven't called me Kate in years" she smiles
"well things change" and I smile back
What if Katie is the best I can get? All I deserve?
I never deserved liz.
