Jasmine POV:
I could feel my blood boiling as my foot tap the side of the bleachers.
"Did you see my ma?" August's distanced voice ranged in my head.
"Ma?" he called out again.
My vision that was once blurred focused on him as he gazed at me.
"Of course, baby!" Everyone is always watching you. I said happily.
"My baby nephew and son are the best two football players in the state!" Nicki's voice ranged as she pulled both into a hug.
"Ma?" Lolo asked.
"Not cool aunt Nicki," August said.
"Damn, when y'all get so grown?" Nicki said in a roar.
I laughed, "That's what I've been trying to figure out.
"Anyways, is it ok if we roll with dad and uncle Durk this afternoon?" August asked.
"Roll?" I questioned.
"Yes," he said in an unfazed tone.
My eyebrows pushed together tightly as I glared at him. "Boy, don't play with me," I said.
"Sorry, ma." He spoke.
"Come on", we will walk you over. I spoke.
From a distance, I could feel someone burning a hole in my face.
I looked up as my eyes locked with Chris.
"Why is he watching you as if you're undressing" Nicki whispered towards me.
"It's that noticeable?" I questioned.
If I was being honest with myself, it makes me feel uncomfortable as he looked at me. I thought.
"Here comes the superstar's," Leah said as we approached.
"Aunt Leah," they both said in sync.
I glanced at Von as he still had that look of disparity on his face.
Jessica stood a little too close for comfort with King in her arms.
"Don't lose your cool Jas" I said to myself.
King reached out for me, as I took him out of her arms.
"Anyways the guys want to roll with you," I said in a hurry.
"Cool, we will just take all of them," Von said.
I rolled my eyes, "I'll take King, wouldn't want him being passed around to everyone. I spoke.
"Who is she talking about me?" Jessica questioned.
"Clearly," I said amused by her surprised look.
"There she goes starting again," Leah said.
"Just stay out of it," Nicki said as she grabbed Leah's arm.
"Nicki you as well," Durk said.
"Shut up!" Nicki whispered in his direction
"There you go tripping again over nothing gang," Von yelled.
My eyes wandered between the two as I smiled slightly.
"So, I guess you fucking her now too?" I questioned.
Jessica's eyes grew larger, and she looked at Von.
"Watch how you talk in front of my kids," he said.
"So, it's ok for you to speak to me in any manner in front of them, but when I question you about one of your hoes it's an issue?" I spoke.
"We just friend" We all are, your suborning ass can't see past that fact though. He screamed.
Once again, all eyes were on us as we were in another heated argument.
I started to walk away as he grabbed my arm pulling me in the other direction.
I tighten my grip around King to ensure he wouldn't fall.
At once he stopped by the car door, pulling King out of my arms.
"Muwop, hold on to him for a few minutes," he said handing him over.
Before I had time to react, he threw me into the backseat of the truck before getting in himself.
"What the fuck was that for?" I questioned.
"Why are you always out here embarrassing me?" He asked.
I laughed loudly, "Me embarrassing you?" You should never use those words in a sentence when trying to apply them to me. I yelled.
He licked his lips as his eyes glanced at our face.
"Whatever shit you and Leah got going on y'all need to dead it," he said.
I rolled my eyes as I looked out the window. For the shadows of the trees, I could see Chris talking with a few of his friends.
"I'm serious Jas, I can't have you'll act the way you'll do," he said.
"It's not me" I mumbled.
"Just try to be understanding of what she went through" He whispered.
"Jessica is only here trying to smooth over pain" She even helped a lot when you shut down.
Once again, I started to feel less than.
"So, I keep being told" I whispered.
All of you act as if I didn't get the worse part of it. As if I shut down because I needed a break. The only person that was there for me was Nicki, not even you so much. I guess you were making repairs to your old relationship. I questioned.
Jas-- he started to say.
"No! I'm the one who always holds this family together but whenever I need everyone to be understanding I'm always the bad guy," I said.
I take the most bullshit and, in the end, I'm always the one getting shut out.
"I'm done with it," I said
Once more I tried to let myself out of the car only to be pulled back in falling against him.
"Let me go," I said as I pushed him back.
My head hit the window as he let go of my arm.
"See that wasn't even my fault," he said while laughing.
I stared at him as I rubbed my head "Fuck you."
"That's always temping," he said licking his lips once more.
"I hate when you do that" I whispered.
He sat next to me as his hand touched my thigh.
"Are you fucking her?" I asked again.
He took a deep breath before blowing it out.
, "No" he said.
Before I could say anything, his lips attacked my neck catching me by surprise, as his arms moved up towards my shirt.
My body tensed up for a moment; "Don't worry I'm not taking it that far, I know you're not ready" He said.
"Just leaving my mark is all" He added.
I laughed, "how old are we again?" I questioned.
"Old enough, he said as he went deeper inside of my neck causing me to let off a soft moan.
I could feel him smile against my neck as he sat up.
"Done" he whispered.
"I'm sorry about earlier, that wasn't fair of me to talk to you like that" he added.
I nodded my head in agreement.
"I'll do better for all of us," he said.
"Like always," I said.
"Jas?" He called out as I stepped out of the car.
I looked back at him for a moment, "Just stay away from that dude Chris, I don't trust him" he said.
I raised an eyebrow at him but did not push the issue anymore.
"Let's go, baby," I said to the king as I pulled him from Muwop's arms.
"See you later wop, keep my kids safe". I spoke.
"Always" he spoke softly.
"I guess him too" I joked.
Nicki caught up to me as I put King in his car seat, "everything good baby girl?" She asked.
"As always" I joked.
