"You coming, Blondie?"
(F/n) asked as she stabbed into the tower with her arrows and headed down.
Rapunzel held the hair that was on the latch as he looked down to the earth.
Then, he looked into the distant sky.
🎶Look at the world, so close and I'm halfway to it
Look at it all, so big, do I even dare?
Look at me, there at last, I just have to do it🎶
"Should I? No."
🎶Here I go🎶
Pascal crawled onto his shoulder and took a strand of hair, wrapped it around his waist, and giving the thumbs up.
Rapunzel scoffed a bit.
Throwing the rest of his hair out of the window, he followed through and zipped down.
(F/n) ducked to avoid getting knocked off.
Rapunzel's laughter filled the air as he slid further down, only to stop himself at the very end.
The ground sat inches away from him, just waiting for him.
He hesitantly placed his foot into the grass.
He laughed at the softness he felt on his feet.
Rapunzel turned around and fell backward onto the ground.
🎶Just smell the grass, the dirt, just like I dreamed they'd be🎶
The wind around him began to pick up and he jumped up and ran.
🎶Just feel that summer breeze, the way it's calling me🎶
He stopped as soon as he felt the cold rush of water from the pool through his toes.
He kicked his foot up and watched as the water flew away from him.
🎶For like the first time ever, I'm completely free🎶
He then turned to the entrance of the cave. He slowly began to run toward it.
🎶I could go running and racing and dancing and chasing
And leaping and bounding, hair flying, heart pounding🎶
He ran through to the other side and sang out with a large grin.
🎶And splashing and reeling and finally feeling
That's when my life begins🎶
Rapunzel began to look around in excitement.
"I can't believe I did this." He mumbled in shock. Then he began to shout.
"I can't believe I did this. I CAN'T BELIEVE I DID THIS! Mother will be so furious."

He sat on a rock in the middle of the pond.
(F/n) stood behind him, frowning.
"That's okay though, what she doesn't know won't kill her, right?"

Rapunzel rocked back and forth in a dark cave with (F/n) standing at the entrance.
"Oh my gosh, this will kill her."

He ran down a small slope and kicked a large pile of leaves, making them fall around (F/n), who shook her head in amusement.
"THIS IS SO FUN!"

(F/n) rose her eyebrow as Rapunzel stood on a thick branch with his head leaned against the trunk of it.
"I am a horrible son. I'm going back."

"I am never going back!" He screamed as he rolled down a hill, wrapping himself into his hair.
"Haha!"

"I am a despicable human being..." Rapunzel groaned as he laid face first in a sinking scrub field, (F/n) right beside him.

"WAHHOOOOO!" He screamed as he used his hair as a swing to wrap around a tree.
He passed (F/n) once again as she leaned against the trunk of the tree.
"Best day, ever!"

Rapunzel sat by a pile of rocks and held his head in his hands, tears silently slipping down his face.
(F/n) walked over and placed a hand on his shoulder.
"Ahem...You know, I can't help but notice, you seem a little... at war with yourself here."
Rapunzel looked at her in shock. "Really?"
(F/n) shrugged.
"Now, I'm only picking up... bits and pieces. Overprotective mother, forbidden road trip. This is serious stuff. But let me ease your conscience. This is part of growing up. A little rebellion, a little adventure. That's good, healthy even!"
Rapunzel chuckled a bit. "You think?"
"I know! You're way overthinking this, trust me. Does your mother deserve it? No. Will this break her heart and crush her soul? Of course. But you just got to do it."
Rapunzel's eyes widened. "Break her heart?"
"In half." (F/n) said as she took a nearby grape off a vine.
"Crush her soul?"
The girl squeezed the berry. "Like a grape."
Rapunzel stood up and ran a hand through his hair. "She would be heartbroken, you're right."
"I am, aren't I?" (F/n) said as she came and stood next to the boy.
"Oh bother... All right, I can't believe I'm saying this, but...I'm letting you out of the deal." She said as she walked off.
Rapunzel frowned. "What?!"
(F/n) nodded as she gently picked up Pascal and his frying pan.
"That's right. But don't thank me. Let's just turn around, and get you home, here's your pan, here's your frog."
She handed both to Rapunzel and began to walk back.
"I get back my satchel. You get back a mother-son relationship based on mutual trust and viola! We part ways as unlikely friends."
"No!" Rapunzel said as he grabbed her arm.
"I am seeing those lanterns."
(F/n) groaned. "Oh, come on! What is it going to take to get my satchel back?!"
Rapunzel threatened her with the pan again as she rose her hands in surrender. "I will use this."
Suddenly, the bush next to them began to shake.
Rapunzel quickly stood in front of (F/n) and shakingly pointed his pan to the bush.
The girl looked at him shocked. No one had ever stood in front to protect her from danger.
She lightly blushed.
"I-Is it ruffians?! Thugs?! Have they come for me?!"
The bush continued to shake before a cute little bunny hopped out.
"...Stay calm, it can probably smell fear."
(F/n) sighed she pat on Rapunzel's wide back.
He relaxed stood straight up and nervously chuckled.
"...Oh, sorry. Guess I'm just a little bit... jumpy."
(F/n) crossed her arms. "Probably be best if we avoid ruffians and thugs, though."
Rapunzel laughed. "Yeah, that's probably best."
(F/n) paused with a quick thought. Then smiled innocently.
"Are you hungry? I know a great place for lunch."
"Where?"
"Oh, don't you worry." (F/n) grinned as she took his hand and began dragging him along.
"You'll know it when you smell it!"

Maximus continued sniffing the ground, determined to catch this thief. A twig snapped a couple of feet away from him and he sprung into action.
He hid behind a rock and pulled down a branch, conveniently making his hiding spot look like a horse.
As the figure approached the suspicious structure, he jumped out from behind and whined loudly.
Gothel jumped back with fear.
She sighed in relief while Maximus groaned in disappointment.
"Oh, a Palace horse."
She said, looking at him over before realizing something.
"...Where's your rider? Rapunzel."
She quickly turned.
"RAPUNZEL!"
Max gave the woman a look of confusion as she quickly scurried away.
She ran as fast as she could to the tower.
"Rapunzel!" She cried out to him.
"Let down your hair!"
There was no response.
"Rapunzel?"
Silence.
Gothel quickly ran to the other side of the tower and used the secret entrance.
Climbing higher and higher up the ladder, she finally reached the top and pushed up against the trap door.
It flung open and she ran up the stairs to Rapunzel's bedroom.
"RAPUNZEL?"
She yanked the covers away to find a few pillows under, but no Rapunzel.
"RAPUNZEL!"
She cried as she looked everywhere throughout the building for him.
He was nowhere to be found.
"RAPUNZEL!" She screamed as she drew the curtains.
Light poured into the tower, shining against every hiding place Rapunzel could've been hiding in.
But he was not there.
Gothel leaned against the wall in anguish, having lost her magic flower yet again.
A small gleam in her eye made her flinch.
She frowned before following the light's source.
Gothel found herself at the last step of the stairs and yanked the plank of wood from the top.
A slightly opened satchel rested there.
She took it out and dug her hand inside, pulling something cold and rigid out.
Her confusion quickly disappeared as she gasped and threw the familiar crown away.
She held her hands to her head in distraught.
This couldn't be happening!
How could this have happened?!
How was she going to— Wait a minute...
Why hadn't the king's guards stormed the tower yet if they knew where Rapunzel was?
...Or did they know?
They don't!
They still don't!
If they did, the crown wouldn't have been here.
Rapunzel was stolen.
Not found.
Her brain began to rack with a plan as she took out the other item in the satchel— a wanted poster for (F/n) Rider.
They couldn't have gone far.
"I will get my flower back."
She said as she went to a nearby drawer and took out a letter opener.
"...And tie up the loose ends as well."
