At around 4pm the Malhotra's were all dressed up to go to the Rathore Bungalow, today was going to be Sonu's roka as well as an introduction to some of Raj's family. They'd prepared large baskets of sweets, gifts and flowers. They were all ready and sitting in the lounge waiting for Ahaan, "Bhaiyya kitni der lagah rahe hai!" Sonu complained-
Kartik: Chipkali, tujhe bohot jaldi horahi hai aapne sasural jaane ki, he teased his sister-
Sonu: Tu chup kar cheapde! Tujhe pata hai na ke agar hum late hogaye toh Sarla Auntie ne kitni baatein sunani hai-
Just then Ahaan came downstairs, "Chalo, let's go"
Kartik: Bhai, aap toh humesha saab se pehle ready hote hai, aaj late kaise hogaya?
Ahaan: Woh actually ek bewakoof ladki ne mere upar coffee gira di aur phir mujhe hi baatein sunna ne laagi! Mujhe change karne ka time nahi mila because already bohot saari meetings scheduled thi and mujhe ghar aane mein thoda late hogaya and phir it took really long to shower and-
Dadi cut him off, "Accha puttar, buss humein samaj aagyi- theek hai- Aab jaldi chalo saab"
They all got in their cars, Ahaan, Sonu, Kartik, in one and Dadi, Chachi, Chacha, Veer and Savitri in the other. In around 30 minutes they reached the Rathore Bungalow, they were greeted by the Rathore family and all took a seat in the formal sitting room.
Sarla: Aap log toh bilkul perfect time pe aai hai aaj, accha hai kyunke mujhe aap logon ko aapni family se milana hai- After all, aap log mere bete ke in-laws ho-
Dadi: Kisse milana hai aapne humein Sarla Gi?
Sarla: Woh actually mere bhai ki family se, hum log bohot close hai, unki beti aur mera Raj toh almost saath hi baare hue hai, bikul behan bhai ki tarah hai saab.
Savitri: Yeh toh bohot acchi baat hai!
Sarla: Yes, yes- specially unki beti Ishqi, bohot samajdar aur pyaari baachi hai. Pura business sambhalti hai mere bhaiyya ke saath. Meri usske saath both acchi jamti hai!
Raj: Mom! Ishqi ki itni tareef? Mera rishta horaha hai Ishu ka nahi, he whispered in his mom's ear but everyone heard and tried to control their laughter. Ahaan got a phone call and he excused himself and went into the backyard to talk-
Just then the doorbell rang, "DING DONG"- "Lagta hai woh log aagaye hai" Vivek said as he went to open the door. Soon the Verma family entered and hugged the Rathore's and greeted the Malhotra's.
Manav: Veer? Tum yahan?
Sarla: Bhaiyya, aap inn logon ko pehle se jaante hai?
Veer: Actually, Sarla ji- Aaj subah hi Ahaan ne inke saath ek business deal sign ki hai-
Raj: Oh wow! What a coincidence!
Sarla: Oh, accha woh saab toh theek hai mujhe yeh baatao ke meri favourite kahan hai?
"Sarla Bua!!" Ishqi said as she ran to hug her-
Raj: Arrey mujhe bhool gayi!
Ishqi: Tumhari toh shaadi hai, tujhe kaise bhool sakti houn, she said as she hugged Raj as well.
Sarla Auntie then introduced the Malhotra's to Ishqi, "Ishqi beta, yeh Raj ke sasural wale hai"
Ishqi: Namaste, she said and went to touch the elders' feet while she hugged Kartik and Sonu-
Dadi: Kitni pyaari aur sanskari ladki hai, Sarla ji aise hi nahi isski itni tareef kar rahi thi- she whispered into Savitri's ear.
Raj: Mom, aab saab log baatein kijiye aur hum saab youngsters backyard mein chalte hai, Ahaan bhaiyya bhi wahin hai- She nodded while Raj led Ishqi, Sonu, Kartik, Tara, & Zayan, to the backyard-
Ishqi was walking backwards when she bumped into someone...again. She squeezed her eyes tightly expecting to hit the ground but instead she felt two strong arm's around her waist. She slowly opened her eyes and found herself in the arms of a handsome young man, she stared into his deep brown eyes while he found himself lost in her beauty as well.
Upon scanning each other's faces for a few seconds and Kartik clearing his throat-
"Tum?!"
"Aap?!"
They said in unison-
Ishqi regained her balance while Ahaan removed his hands from around her waist, "Tumhe takarane ki bimari hai kya?!" he said to her-
Ishqi: Aapko jhagrah karne ki bimari hai?!
Ahaan: Tum yahan kya kar rahi ho?
Ishqi: Aap yahan kya kar rahe hai?
Ahaan: Kissi bhi sawal ka jawab seedha seedha nahi dey sakti tum?!
Ishqi: Aap nahi de sakte?
SoRaj + Tara + Zayan + Kartik starting laughing, "Oh my god!, tees(30) seconds mein itne sawal!"
Raj: Waise aap dono ko dekh ke lag raha hai ke aap ek dusre ko pehle se jaante ho-
Ishqi: Hmm, woh jo business deal sign ki thi na subah woh inn ke saath thi-
Kartik: Oh Bhaisaab! Matlab aab business partners ka relationship rishtedaari mein badalne waala hai-
Ahaan: Yeh tu kya bakwaas kar raha hai Kartik!
Kartik: Arrey bhai! Thodi si toh common sense use karo
Ishqi: Hogi toh use kareinge na, she whispered under her breath but Ahaan heard her-
Sonu: Bhaiyya, Ishqi - Tara and Zayan Raj ke cousins hai, and Ishqi and Raj have toh grown up together...Aap ne sunna nahi jo Sarla Auntie ne undar kaha tha?
Ahaan's eyes widened, "Woh jiss Ishqi ke baare mein baat kar rahi thi woh yeh hai?!"
Ishqi: Nahi, abhi ek aur Ishqi ayegi-
Zayan: Ishqi!! Buss-
Zayan put his hand forward for Ahaan to shake- "Hi Ahaan, I'm Zayan"-
Ahaan shook his hand, "Nice to meet you! Waise mein aaj subah aaya tha Verma Enterprises, I didn't see you"
Zayan: Woh actually business saara papa aur Ishqi sambhalte hai, mein doctor houn and Tara is in university.
Ahaan: Oh- "Matlab aab toh pakka mein iss khiski ladki ke saath 3 saal phaas gaya houn!"
Just then someone called them for dinner, "Khana lag gaya hai"-
They all went into the dining room where the elders were already seated, the youngsters took a seat, to purposely annoy Ahaan Kartik moved his chair and Ishqi and Ahaan were now seated right next to each other. They both glared at one another but couldn't fight in front of everyone so they remained silent.
Savitri: Mummy Ji, woh dekhe- kitne pyaare lag rahe hai saath mein dono, she whispered into Dadi's ear. She nodded and they all conversed and soon finished eating dinner. The elders got up and went into the sitting room while the youngsters kept sitting in the dinning room. They talked for a few minutes but when they were all getting up Ishqi's foot twisted a little and she put her hand on Ahaan's shoulder as support. He immediately grabbed her hand, "Are you okay?!" he asked her. She cleared her throat, "I'm fine"-
Ahaan: Tum har waqt girti kyun rehti ho? Iss baar bhi meine baacha liya-
Ishqi: Pair twist hua tha koi gunde nahi parhe the mere peeche ke aapko mujhe bachana parha- naam teen banda mean-
Ahaan: Kya language hai tumhari!
Ishqi: Meri language bilkul theek hai!
Raj: Yeh lo! Phir shuru hogaye yeh dono-
Kartik: Bhai! Ishqi! Relax- itna larhte hai aap dono...God!
They stopped arguing and rolled their eyes at each other, all 7 of them then went to join the elders in the sitting area.
Sarla: Chalo, aab roka kar lete hai-
They all nodded while Sonu and Raj were made to sit together on the sofa, (Idk what happens during the roka ceremony so imma skip it :) Soon all the steps were done and the roka was complete! They congratulated the couple and the families took tons of photos.
It was late so they all bid each other good-bye and went to their respective houses.
{ In Ahaan's Room }
He was sitting on his bed working on his laptop when his phone went off, "ding, ding, ding, ding" ~ He picked up his phone and saw everyone sharing pictures from the event in the group chat. He scrolled through the photos and smiled, then Ishqi's image came up, "kitni irritating ladki hai" but he had a smile lingering on his lips, he himself didn't know why. He found himself saving the photos which had her in them, Why?- he didn't know....
He put his phone aside and laid down,"kal phir woh ladki mera dimaag khai gi...god!! uss ke liye I need some rest, sooja Ahaan" he said to himself and dozed off to sleep.
{ In Ishqi's Room }
Ishqi changed into her night-suit and slumped onto her bed, "Today was a tiring day", she took out her diary and wrote today's entry-
"Today was a tiring but fun day....Aaj saab kuch accha gaya except those interactions with AVM!!! That guy is crazy...har baat par daantne laag jaata hai. Khadoos naam teen banda mean! Kal phir usse jhelna parhey ga! Ughhh, but anyways- enough about that Mr. 3 in 1! Aaj Raj ka roka hogaya! Sonu is a very pretty and sweet girl and I'm beyond happy to have her as a part of the family! Aaj ke liye itna hi- Byeeee-"

Just then tons of notifications started appearing on her phone screen, she opened them and saw everyone sending pictures from the dinner + roka...She sent the images she had as well and saved a few. She was swiping through the photos when Ahaan's picture came up, she studied it for a minute, "Shakal se khadoos aur akru lagte nahi hai....but hai!"- She set her phone down and dozed off to sleep.

Both souls drifted off to sleep unknown to the huge smile that had spread across their faces. The next day'd bring tons of fights and disagreements between them but would that bring them closer? ✨
