I watch Elvi closely as she stares down at the fragile baby with such softness in her eyes. He sleeps with his head in the crook of her elbow and Elvi runs her fingers over his head that has a lot of dark hair.
"He's kinda ugly," Lennox whispers from beside me.
Atticus slaps his hand over his mouth, trying to contain his laugh.
Elvi looks up with a glare directed at the twins.
"What? It's true. You can't even lie, bro." He smiles to himself and sinks further back into his chair. "He looks like a baboon," he mutters under his breath so only I can hear and not Elvi.
"Get out."
His smile drops and he turns to me, pouting. "I was kidding! I'm sorry, father."
"For the last fucking time, stop calling me that. I swear I'm gonna snap your neck one day," I threaten.
"That's a little extreme," he retorts. "Bunny, you need to get your man under control."
She just continues to glare at us. "Both of you get out."
"I'll shut up," both of us say at the same time.
She gives us a look that tells us she doesn't believe it. "I'm taking a nap so wake me up if Hades wakes up," she informs.
I nod my head and grab her hand, giving it a soft kiss on her palm. "I love you," I softly say to her, leaning down to give the baby's cheek a gentle kiss.
"I love you too, darling."
She lays her head down onto the pillow and closes her eyes, instantly falling asleep.
I continue to hold her hand in mine and rub the back of it with my thumb.
"When do you guys get to go home?" Atticus asks.
"Tomorrow if everything is alright and they're both healthy," I answer.
He nods in response, pulling his phone out of his pocket. Just then the door opens and Milo enters with a lot of food in his hands.
I cringe when the door closes loudly. A cry follows.
My head snaps over to the now crying baby. "Shit," I curse, not really knowing what to do. I pick him up and place him in my arms just like how he was in Elvi's.
I shush him and begin to rock my arms slightly.
"I'm sorry," Milo apologizes and I wave him off, telling him it's fine.
Eventually, Hades falls back asleep. I let out a sigh of relief, glad that I didn't have to wake up Elvi. I know she's tired and she needs a lot of rest.
Being very careful, I place him onto the bed with my angel again.
"I got you some food," Milo quietly says, reaching his hand out to give me a sack from Chick-fil-a.
He sits (kind of) in Atticus' lap, which is a funny sight because they're both fucking huge and bulk.
"Thank you," I give him a little smile and start to eat some fries.
...
I help Elvi walk into the house, holding the baby carrier with the baby in it, in my left hand. We're met by a very excited Artemis. Elvi leans down to give him pets and kisses.
I lead her to the couch and give her a blanket and a kiss before I go to get the rest of the stuff from the car.
I bring the stuff to the nursery, putting everything in its reserved spot.
When I enter the living room, I hear small sniffles. Artemis lays on the floor in front of the couch, looking up at Elvi with worry.
"Baby?"
I stop in front of her and put my hand under her chin, pushing her head back so I can see.
Her eyes are watery and red, cheeks red and stained with tears. "What's wrong, my love? Are you in pain?"
She slowly shakes her head and shrugs.
I narrow my eyes as more tears stream down her chubby face. I hate seeing her sad. My baby deserves all the happiness.
I sit next to her and pull in to straddle my waist. She quickly shoves her face into my chest, sniffing.
"You don't know what's wrong?" I question.
"No," she says in a soft voice, hands going to the bottom of my shirt and tugging slightly.
"Hm?"
"Off."
I chuckle softly and attempt to pull her back but she doesn't budge. "Darling," I nudge her again, "you have to move if you want me to take it off."
She groans, pulling away.
I smile at her, letting my eyes roam over her beautiful face. Leaning down, I kiss her slowly and deeply.
I pull back and quickly pull my shirt over my head, tossing it to the ground.
Her smile widens and she shoves her head back into my chest, wrapping her arms tightly around me. I wrap mine around her too and lay my head on her shoulder, kissing her neck.
I could stay here forever.
But a loud cry interrupts us.

After feeding Hades, he falls right back to sleep.
So does Elvi.
I answer all the missed texts I have. Most are from Elvi's dad. He couldn't be here because he was in Italy for business.
Another is from Gio, asking if he and Nico can come over.
I tell them yes but that they have to enter the house very quietly or I'll kick them.
About ten minutes later, I hear the door creak open slowly and soft footsteps heading my way.
Artemis' head snaps up and she bounds towards them, almost knocking Nico over in the process.
They drop to the ground and make the dog roll over so they can give him belly rubs. Gio smiles brightly and sits next to Nico.
He waves at me. I go to wave back but both my hands are occupied. I smile instead.
Elvi begins to wake up, rubbing her eyes with her hand. She grins at me and gives my jawline a small kiss.
I motion my head over towards the two people, making her look over.
She waves excitedly at both of them.
"We need to wake him up or he won't sleep at all tonight," she says, looking down at the baby.
She moves out of my lap and takes him out of my hands. "Wake up, little baby. You need to meet your Uncle Gio and Nico."
His eyes slowly flutter open and his dark eyes stare up at Elvi.
"He's so cute!" Gio exclaims, plopping down next to Elvi.
She carefully places Hades in his arms and smiles warmly at the two.
I look back over at Nico to see his eyes completely stuck on Gio. His eyes have a sparkle and a smirk sits on his lips.
Someone wants a baby.
