"Oh! Oh! Bubbles! Look at them!"
Y/n was jumping into the air and swatting at bubbles, eyes bright.
Ryoichi watched with a neutral expression as Teppei joined her and they started running around together, jumping and trying to pop the bubbles.
They'd become friends during the time they'd spent on the boat and were already besties. It was honestly scary.
Aether and Paimon's boat stopped for some reason so Ryoichi suggested that they wait for them for a while.
The boy sighed, pulling out the picture his friend had given to him. His calm expression turned into one of disgust and annoyance when he looked at it.
'...he's insane.' he thought, staring at the grinning boy who was had taken a picture of himself drawing a pp on the Statue of the Omnipresent God.
Y/n and Teppei had snuck up behind Ryoichi, staring at the picture in his hands with round eyes.
"What's that?" Teppei asked.
"Is that a worm?"
Ryoichi flinched and looked back at the two of them with an irritated expression, "Mind your own business, damn it!"
"If it's something you don't want us to see, look at it somewhere else, moron." Y/n scoffed then looked out at sea, "What's taking the blondie and Paimon so long?"
*Aether is wishing for Baal last minute*
The h/c haired mita-girl shook her head before grabbing Teppei's hand, "Mm, let's go. The blondie is taking too long."
Just as she said that, Aether and Paimon made it to shore and saw y/n dragging a starstruck Teppei away.
"Eh? Y/n! You were supposed to wait for us!" Paimon called and sputtered when y/n picked Teppei up bridal style and started running away, "HEY! WHERE ARE YOU GOING!?"
"TEPPEI AND I ARE GONNA GET THERE FIRST AND YOU CAN'T STOP US!" y/n shouted back as she ran faster and kicked one of those weird floating anemo things out of the way as she went when it attempted to attack her and Teppei.
Aether watched with a strange expression as y/n carried Teppei away.
Ryoichi noticed.
Out of nowhere, he slapped Aether across the face with a, "Dumbass!"
"I-" Aether was stunned.
Without another word, Ryoichi began walking after y/n and Teppei who were far off.
"...is everyone in y/n's family always angry or something?" Aether questioned, confused.
Paimon shrugged, "No idea."
They trailed after Ryoichi who had sprinted to go grab y/n before she could throw herself and Teppei into the water.

"Oh! There's the Fish Lady!" y/n exclaimed when they finally found Kokomi after an hour of y/n falling into random bodies of water and nearly drowning.
The fish lady, as y/n had called her, was talking to someone about supplies.
Y/n didn't wanna listen but stayed quiet because Teppei had gently shushed her when she opened her mouth to speak.
If Teppei were any other person, she would slap him but an odomu does not slap another odomu.
Most of the time.
It was a while before the dude Kokomi was talking to noticed the small group.
"Huh? Teppei? What are you doing back on Watatsumi Island?" the man asked then looked at Ryoichi, Y/n, Aether and Paimon, "Might I ask, who..."
"Haha, VIP guests of Her Excellency, that's who!" Teppei exclaimed then sent y/n a smile, "Plus, my new friend!"
Y/n grinned back and Aether frowned from where he stood beside the two.
"I'm acting under orders to escort them here!" Teppei explained, still practically glowing from how friendly y/n was towards him despite having tried to kill him earlier.
"Oh really?" the man hummed, "Wait, so are you two the new recruits everyone's been talking about? Strength of twenty men, splits an arrow in two from a hundred paces, skin as hard as diamond... that's you?"
Ryoichi gave Aether a disgusted look, "Don't tell me you made that up..."
"I didn't, they're rumors!" Aether protested and looked to y/n to back him up but she was showing Teppei how far back she could bend her fingers.
"Seriously, what is going on with these rumors?" Paimon said with a little shake of her head.
Ryoichi turned to Kokomi, his gruff tone becoming a little softer, "Katou Ryoichi is my name. I'm not a new recruit but you requested help from my family, right?"
"That is correct." Kokomi confirmed.
"I was sent instead of my Uncle." Ryoichi explained, "I'll help as much as I possibly can."
"Eh? They asked you for help?" y/n asked Ryoichi who gave her his usual scowl.
"Our family is consisted of assassins and mercenaries. Of course we were asked for help." Ryoichi replied.
Y/n's e/c eyes sparkled a little, 'I'm from a family of mercenaries...! Super cool...!'
'...what's a mercenary?'
Kokomi smiled warmly, the action basically stabbing both y/n and Ryoichi in the heart, "Your help is much appreciated."
Ryoichi simply coughed into his hand, looking away with pink cheeks while y/n adorned a starstruck expression.
"You've come a long way. I'm sure you must be here on pressing business, so I won't disturb you any further." the man, who y/n has forgotten about, spoke up, "Feel free to visit me if you have any time to spare. Your Excellency, I'll take my leave."
As the man left, Teppei began talking to the fish lady while y/n asked an irritated Ryoichi why his face was so pink, "Your Excellency, I couldn't help but overhear Ookubo mention something about... a third party supporter? What was that about?"
"Not long ago, someone wrote to me saying that they wished to support the Watatsumi Island resistance effort. To that end, they also furnished us with a great deal of supplies." Kokomi explained to the group of cinnamon rolls, "Thanks to them, we can finally start recruiting troops on the scale we need to openly confront the Shogun's Army on the front line."
"Can this sponsor be trusted?" Aether asked as something caught her attention and she wandered off to check it out.
Y/n strolled away from the conversation, amazed by the sights around her. Watatsumi Island was beautiful...
'I wish Matr could see this.' she thought as grief caught her heart in a chokehold.
She looked around and found a spot to sit, staring at the beauty around her.
Y/n kicked her legs back and forth, absent-mindedly playing with the edges of the bandages that covered her eye.
She thought about everything she'd seen and done up until the point.
She thought about how that midget still owed her food and hadn't fulfilled his promise.
She thought about the letter she'd burned after memorizing it and how she would relay the message to the person the letter had been meant for.
But she mostly thought about why she felt so off around Aether. It was embarrassing to know how he felt about her, especially since she couldn't tell if she felt the same way.
Was there a specific way she was supposed to feel...? She wouldn't know.
As y/n was sitting and staring, Gorou happened to be passing by when he spotted the mita-girl just sitting there in silence.
Gorou knew very little about her but telling from how she was muttering threats even while she was unconscious and suffering from some very fatal wounds, she was a pretty energetic person.
Something is clearly wrong when an energetic person sits down and stares out into the distance in silence.
The General was debating on whether or not to approach her and speak to her but she noticed him before he could decide.
"Oh! Olah!" she greeted, e/c eyes bright, "Uhm... what's your name? I don't know it."
"It's Gorou."
Y/n paused then repeated, "Gorou."
What a surprise, she got his name right.
"Nice to meet you, Nomo!"
Damn it.
"Y/nnnnn!" Came Teppei's voice, "We're being sent on a mission togetherrr!!!"
"Oh! That's Pepe!" y/n chirped, "Bye-bye General Gorou, sir! I've gotta go kick some ass!"
( like the frog )
Y/n ran off before Gorou could say much else. He let out a sigh of relief when y/n disappeared, completely unaware that his tail had been wagging.
Y/n, as usual, tracked down Teppei in no time and grabbed his hand!
"C'mon, let's go!" she exclaimed and waved to Aether, "See ya later, Aethy!"
Aether choked in surprise and was about to ask wtf that was but y/n was already running off with Teppei.
Aether stared for a moment before looking to Ryoichi with a, "Do you think y/n likes me?"
Ryoichi, who totally wasn't watching Kokomi, scowled at Aether, "Why tf are you asking me? As if I'd know!"
