Salem walked the halls of her domain. Watts was the only one there at time. He had informed her everything he had found, and she wanted to test this son of Ozpin. She knew he had occasionally raised families when his body already had one, but this was different. His current body was unmarried and had no family, and yet he had adopted this child.
But then Watts showed her a picture of him, and she instantly realized why he was so important. She wanted to get a firm idea of his power, and she had heard that the schools were planning a childish field trip to a beach. She created a leviathan, but once it was ready, she had one of her glass orbs that she used for communication burrow inside it and replace its eye. That way she could see everything it saw.
She knew this boy would likely have his weapons, since he decided to forgo the school dance to take out Cinder. She showed the picture to the leviathan, and ordered it to attack him specifically. With the communication device lodged in its head, it understood and left.
Timeskip
Yang's Pov
We were getting on the airships to head to the place. Ruby had a backpack with all our stuff in it. I saw that Y/N was wearing his combat jacket and not carrying any swimming gear, meaning he was expecting to need to do something again. I was a little disappointed that I wouldn't get to see him without a shirt on or, really, in anything that showed his body more, but I would still have fun.
I noticed him sitting alone, until a group of girls walked up and started flirting with him. He just got up and left, and they apparently got the message. We arrived, and we all started having our fun.
No Pov
The students were all doing their own thing, until one of the airships spotted the leviathan heading towards the beach. Immediately, several other Grimm sprouting out of the ground. Fortunately, the group of teachers and some Atlas robots dealt with them before anyone was hurt.
Quickly, the students were evacuated off the beach by most of the teachers, leaving only Y/N and Qrow to deal with the ones on the sand. The students who had their weapons joined in quickly, but enough Grimm were coming that it wasn't safe to return to the beach.
Eventually the leviathan got to the beach, but it ignored everyone except Y/N. Qrow focused on the remaining smaller Grimm.
The leviathan took a swing at Y/N, but missed. It kept trying, and he sent several dust waves at its face. After a few more failed swings, it noticed him standing in it's palm, and tried to trap him by closing both hands around him.
The next thing it knew, he was standing on top of its hands with his arms crossed and a look of disappointment and boredom on his face. Before it could react, he teleported next to it and drilled a hole clean through its head with his semblance, shooting out the other side.
It thrashed a bit, and then fell forward onto the beach, disintegrating into ash. Qrow finished up any remaining Grimm on the beach, and noticed Y/N standing over something. Qrow ran over and saw it was one of Salem's devices. He heard her voice come through it.
Salem: "You have merely delayed the inevitable-" Y/N shattered the orb. It dissolved into ash, and a vision of Salem flew out of it, and hovered over them. "I am impressed, son of Michael."
Y/N: "Son of who?"
Salem: "You both fight a losing war. It is only a matter of time."
Qrow: "Well then, at least we'll die with more dignity than you." He shot at the apparition, and it disappeared.
Y/N: "What the..."
Qrow: "We need to tell Oz about this. Now." He looked over and saw that the last of the Grimm were being dealt with.
Y/N: "Right."
Qrow: "By the way, how did you beat it?"
Y/N: "This one was clearly fresh. It's armor hadn't fully grown. Plus, I have never fought a dumber Grimm in my life."
Qrow: "In any case, I'll go back and tell Oz. You handle things here." He transformed into a bird and flew off. Y/N looked back at the now blackened sand.
Y/N: "Son of who?"
The students were a bit shaken, but the threat had passed. They eventually resumed their fun and almost forgot what happened. Due to them all being off the beach, none of them had seen the projection of Salem. She sat silently. That explained why this boy was so important. He didn't even know the true extent of it.
Yang's Pov
That had been fun. Even when the Grimm did a surprise attack, it ended up turning into a competition of all the students showing off. We had seen the leviathan, but it was taken down before anyone could get a shot at it.
After that, we all just put our weapons away again and went back to having fun playing games and socializing. After it unfortunately came to an end, we all said our goodbyes, and headed back to Beacon. Ozpin gave a farewell speech, and they all left for their academies.
Y/N's Pov
I was still in shock at what Salem said on the beach. After Ozpin's little talk, all of our secret group convened in his office.
Ozpin: "This is... Troubling."
Y/N: "Do you know anyone who Salem could have been referring to?"
Ozpin: "No. She probably killed them in the past and just said that to get you off balance."
Y/N: "Fair enough. It did seem like she wanted to test us somehow. Why else would she send a newborn leviathan?"
Qrow: "Anyway, what we need to know is if she has anything else planned. She knows that the Fall Maiden is beyond her reach, so what would she do next?"
Ozpin: "I would imagine she is after the Spring Maiden. Qrow, did you find anything about her whereabouts?"
Qrow: "Somewhere in bandit territory I think."
Ozpin: "Please head there and try to find her. Y/N, you really need to slow down. Especially now with the shock you are feeling."
Y/N: "I need to know. I can't rest until I do."
Ozpin: "You will find out sooner or later. And before you ask, the orphanage that I found you in had no record of any parents or even your name. As a result, they just made one up for you and left it at that. But now, more than before, you must take some time to get your strength back." I left with a huff. I heard them through the elevator as I was leaving.
Qrow: "You really think he's old enough for this?"
Ozpin: "It's far too late now. I could not get him out of this fight if I wanted to." Well, he was right about that. But now I was actually considering taking a real break.
I was feeling tired, and had apparently been sleeping late. Maybe it was time to rest until the next major events came. I went back to my room and saw a note attached to the door.
'If you feel like this room is too cramped, you can always join me...-Yang'. I blushed and threw it away.
She was getting more and more explicit with her flirting. I was starting to worry that I wouldn't be able to control myself. I didn't want to put her in danger, but my feelings didn't have a sense of the future.
Both times she had come up to me recently, I had felt like putty in her hands. Ever since we were kids, she had her ways with me, even if I didn't show it, but now she was getting dangerously close to getting those years of bottled up attraction to come flowing out like a tidal wave.
Emerald's Pov
I looked around our hideout. Hazel had arrived and was training with Mercury. I noticed Neo, Torchwick's friend, sitting alone looking down. I sat next to her.
Emerald: "I'm sorry they got him. They took my friend too." She looked away. "We'll get them back. Both of them. I promise." I heard someone come in. Adam Taurus and a White Fang member who was clearly much older than him came over.
???: "Once we are ready, there will be no one left anyway. Just keep your end of the bargain, and we'll keep ours." He walked away.
Adam: "If you try to double cross us... Well, let's just say I'll make you wish you got captured with Cinder."
Emerald: "I know that. Just promise you will make that boy pay."
Adam: "If this goes well, we won't need to do that ourselves."
