Victoria's POV
The place wasn't that nice at all, even though I wasn't expecting something like that. I mean, it's supposed to be for shooting practice and mafia stuff, but still felt a little disappointed. Ross didn't let go of my hand as we walked in, with Marcus, Jeff and Jake behind us.
I still couldn't get used to their sudden expression changes when it came to work, as they all looked serious now. But feeling Ross' warm hand wrapped in mine made me feel calm, and I was too excited to get a closer look to what they do everyday.
We all walked through a dark corridor, hearing Jeff and Marcus chattering a little and our footsteps echoing through the place.
That was until we heard a male voice coming to us, which made me flinch at how loud he spoke.
"Ah, Caruso! Long time no see!" He laughed, getting closer to us.
None of them copied him, but they seemed less stern than before. Ross slightly squeezed my hand, reassuring me it was okay.
He was a little fat, and his clothes seemed kind of tight for him, but he didn't seem to mind. The man also had some tattoos, one I recognized was of the Caruso mafia, just like Ross and his brothers had. I mentally sighed at that, at least I was sure he was on our side.
"Hey, Luciano. Yeah... we've been pretty busy, but something came and we need to be prepared for anything"
"I see, then shall I take you to- oh, where are my manners?" He turned to me with curious eyes and a smirk, but he didn't look intimidating. "who is this? Is she a new member?"
Marcus took a step to my side and answered before Ross could. Honestly, he didn't have to behave so protective, because the man had only asked me something, and was also being nice.
"Yeah, she is. Her name's-"
"Hi, my name's Victoria"
I took courage to look at Luciano in the eyes, something I rarely did with people involved in this mafia, as they were all too scary. Plus, I wasn't little, so I could perfectly introduce myself.
Luciano looked at me for a few seconds and I felt embarrassed, thinking I had said something wrong, but he chuckled and waved his hand.
"I'm sorry, you just don't look like someone who would fit here. I'm Luciano Leone, and I'm in charge of this place. Why don't you all follow me? I'm sure you must be missing practicing here"
He turned back and I felt Marcus proudly patting my head as we all followed the man to a special place outside.
I could see some other men with different guns shooting at different targets from afar, but the sudden sound made me jump in surprise. Also, it was incredibly loud.
"Here, use this" Jeff said, placing some big headphones on my head.
I was about to protest because they weren't using ones, actually, no one here was. I assumed they were all used to it, but still found weird how they wouldn't even flinch at the loud bangs.
I turned back and saw Jake wasn't there, but alredy grabbing a gun. It was the first time I saw one of them with it, but I still curiously looked at him, and I think I saw the other brothers roll their eyes.
"Are you gonna show off now?"
"Is it bad that I want to show Vicky how I shoot?"
I didn't mind, though. I looked at him with curious eyes and he started aiming and shooting at the targets, barely missing some of them for a few centimeters.
I gasped at it, but no one was looking at Jake, instead, they were all getting their guns or minding their own business.
"I told you you must be good" I giggled.
"Yep, I guess you were right" Jake gave some guy his gun, which he frightened grabbed. "Come with me, it's dangerous to watch from here"
He grabbed my hand and I slightly smiled. His excitement made me realize that Jake was like a little kid sometimes, and also treated me so softly.
We watched Marcus, Ross and Jeff all have their turns. I didn't understand why they needed to come here to practice, because they all did perfectly. Anyway, Jake said they should still improve their skills.
...
They tried different weapons until they thought that was it for the day. I was too interested on all of it that I didn't realize we had been in this place for some hours, and I was starting to get hungry, which means, I wasn't in a good mood anymore. I also felt myself littler and it wasn't good either.
Ross must have noticed that, because he picked me up as soon as he finished practicing and I didn't protest, but I was kind of worried that everyone could see me in this position.
Thankfully no one seemed to care, as they were all either frightened of the Caruso's or too immerse in their own practice.
"Are you sleepy, baby?"
"I'm hungry" I simply answered.
"Alright, we're going home now. Why don't you try to sleep a little?"
His words made me think for a while. I realized it was the first time I could call a place "home", like, somewhere I liked being in. I just snuggled further to his chest and tried to sleep for a while, which I couldn't since I had to take my headphones off and some men were shooting. It was noisy for a few minutes until Ross took me inside of the building, Marcus and his brothers coming behind us, too.
We saw Luciano coming to us and I squirmed in Ross' arms, but he had a strong grip on me and didn't pay attention to my whines, and neither did the rest. This was something I hated when being in little space, too. I kept squirming as the man came closer but Ross whispered (in a daddy voice) to my ear,
"Victoria, I don't like tantrums. Stop squirming or we can discuss this later at home, understand?"
I didn't reply, just huffed and hid my face in his chest, hoping the humiliation would be over soon.
"It was nice seeing you, Luciano" daddy said once he reached us, genuinely smiling.
Luciano was older than them, about fifty years old, for sure. They also looked quite similar, so anyone would have said they were relatives. Thankfully, just like the rest, he didn't look weird at me or something.
"Likewise, Ross. I hope to see you guys here more often, you know you are always welcomed"
"Thanks, it was good to see you, too" Marcus said, and the rest exchanged a few more words before Luciano said goodbye to us, finally leaving the place.
"Did you like the practice, baby?" I heard Jeff say.
"Uh-huh, you were all so cool"
It was barely audible, since I felt timid when one of them scolded me, specially Ross. I still knew they proudly smiled, though. I closed my eyes and finally fell asleep in a few minutes.
...
"Boss, I have some news"
"Then speak" Vincenzo said.
"It's the Caruso's. Apparently, they have a new girl living with them, and they all seem lost for her"
Vincenzo huffed and annoyingly rolled his eyes at the call, grabbing the bridge of his nose.
"So you're calling me for some prostitute they have fun with?"
"No, boss, trust me she's not a prostitute or something. It's different, I'm sure they really care for her, I've seen them"
Vincenzo grabbed his phone tighter, a smirk forming on his face. Maybe this was a chance, even if he didn't want to be too happy about it yet.
"Meet me here in two hours"
