so jungkook did, he told jin the things he had promised his manager and himself not to tell anyone, but there were only a few hours left until it happened, and jin would never tell a soul, so how was it supposed to hurt anyone? and to be fair, jungkook needed some guidance and reassurance. especially, because of how fucking nervous he was about the whole thing, jungkook was used to being anxious in general, but never when it came to his music, he had always been sort of confident in that, in himself.
but this? this was something else, and it was so incredibly nerve-wracking, perhaps because nothing had ever been more personal than this to him, not even the song for namjoon, partly because he had already known what namjoon's reaction would be, but taehyung? this was either gonna make or break them. he was well aware that taehyung had on multiple occasions admitted — or at least hinted at the fact that he likes jungkook, but jungkook had taken a while, and had pushed taehyung away more than once, so to be fair, jungkook would understand if taehyung had gotten tired of him, or if his feelings had disappeared.
jungkook cursed at himself, annoyed at how he allowed his mind to wander to places he didn't want to be at. especially since it was nearing 4 am and he was still unable to sleep. and truthfully there weren't that many hours left before he had to get up again.
and as jungkook's mind allowed him to drift away a little over 6 am, he was still annoyed — and that hadn't hadn't changed when he woke up around 2 hours later to do the sound of his alarm that he allowed himself to press snooze on a few times, before realizing that he had to get up right now if he wanted to make sure all of the preparations were ready, so he did, throwing on some casual clothes, that still signaled he had put some thought into it.
jungkook wasn't sure what taehyung would like to do, so he just ordered a bunch of stuff that he thought taehyung would like, candy included, he figured that they could just chill at home watch a movie or two, depending on how long the movies were, he just needed to make sure that they were free at 12.
he had cleaned most of his house yesterday (something that's as very rare) but he wanted taehyung to see the best side of him, taehyung deserved that, he deserved the world — far more than what jungkook could offer him.
jungkook was still lost in spiral of thoughts as he heard his bell ring, hands shaking slightly as he pressed the button that unlocked the door, a few seconds after facing taehyung who looked as beautiful as ever. before jungkook couldn't hunk it through, he did something taehyung hadn't expected, one second jungkook was standing in the door and the next he had flung himself at taehyung, wrapping himself around the older boy. taehyung smiled as he wrapped his arms around the boy who was always on his mind.
"hi jeongguk, i missed you too," the younger didn't say the words out loud, but it was obvious from the way he had initiated a hug with the older — jungkook hardly ever initiated hugs.
jeongguk. taehyung had called him jeongguk. jungkook felt his heart flutter, the name for once bringing him happiness instead of nausea and sadness.
"wanna watch howls moving castle with me?" jungkook asked, knowing the movie could be seen as childish, especially when you're an adult, but it was still his favorite movie nonetheless. taehyung smiled, for some reason it made him happy that jungkook still watched cartoon movies. "of course," and so they did, the two of them cuddled together on jungkook's bed, candy lying everywhere — also in places that weren't as comfortable. jungkook had quite a hard time staying awake as he got comfortable, the sound of taehyung's heartbeat in his left ear, and the sound coming from the movie in his right ear.
and as the movie came to an end, the smiles on both their faces had grown to twice the size of what their normal smiles looked like. it was around 11:35 when the movie ended, so jungkook decided to just distract the elder for the next around 20 minutes by asking him questions of what he had been doing since the last time they had seen each other, and talked more freely.
taehyung told him about his shoots, and the new sponsorships that had sought him out, jungkook smiled, proud of how successful taehyung is, not that he was surprised. taehyung is the most beautiful person he had ever seen, even if taehyung never believed him when he mentioned it. the elder saw himself as average — lucky. he described his success as lucky. "i wish you could see yourself through my eyes," the younger had whispered at one point, causing a blush to rise of taehyung's cheeks.
and then his alarm went off, surprising the both of them. jungkook smiled sheepishly as he grabbed his phone. "give me 30 seconds," i have something to show you the younger said, going straight to instagram and posting what he had prepared in his drafts.

taehyung stared at him wide eyes as he checked the post, everything clicking into place in his mind. the vague instagram posts, jungkook asking him to come over. a song. for him — just for him.
"you didn't—" taehyung whispered, voice breaking as happy tears rose in his eyes. the younger smiled, wiping a tear from taehyung's cheek, as he brought the other into his arms. "i did." jungkook whispered, his voice soft and vulnerable.
