I sat in my room all day the next day. I didn't eat, I didn't do anything. I just laid down in bed and cried my eyes out. John was the first person I liked. Really liked. I ruined it. I had to just kiss him.
I hear a knock at my door. It creaks open, my mom opened it. She's here to ask questions.
"Kane, you have a visitor." she says through the crack.
The door opens and I see John. My mom closes the door, leaving me and John alone in my bedroom.
"Hey," he asks sheepishly. "I just wanted to talk about last night."
"No." I say sadly. "I really, REALLY don't want to. I'm sorry if I ruined or friendship or of you think I'm a fag or a freak or a-!"
"I liked it." He says, interrupting me. "I really liked it."
My mouth drops. Is he serious? He's gay? I thought...
"I hope we're still cool." He then says, a sad smile on his face.
I jump up out of bed and hug him tight, feeling his fur, his warmth. "I love you." I say, laying my head on his shoulder.
"I love you too." He tells me, embracing me tightly. I don't let go for what seems like forever. He's the first to let go, looking me in the eyes. I decide now's a great time. I lean into him and kiss him.
This time, I don't stop. He doesn't stop. We fall back onto my bed, never stopping. We laid there, kissing for minutes.
I pull my head back, with a realization dawning on me. "What are other people gonna say?" I ask, growing concerned.
"Hey, don't worry about it." he says. "I promise, nobody will treat you, or I differently."
"You promise?"
"I promise."
