He scratched his head. He distinctly remembers hanging his volleyball jacket in his closet yesterday. So, where the hell did it go? He had flicked through every article of clothing that hung on the closet rod. He had rifled through every drawer in his dresser. He had even searched through his dirty clothes hamper. Still, there was no trace of the black track jacket.
"Saeko!" He shouted downstairs.
"Yeah?" She yelled back.
"Did you mess with my volleyball jacket?" He asked loudly.
"No!" Saeko responded. A frown laid on Tanaka's face. Had he really lost it? No, that's impossible. He was not that careless... right? The young man sighed, settling for a dark gray hoodie instead, needing something to cover his bare chest. He would have time to look for it more later but in the meantime, he had company. The doorbell downstairs rang.
Tanaka felt his frown disappear rather suddenly and he bound down the stairs to reach the door before Saeko did. He knew if she answered, she would talk your ear off. Then, you probably wouldn't get to spend much time with the person you came to see in the first place. He flung open the sturdy door of their family home.
"Hey, babe! I was thinkin' we'd... " Tanaka trailed off once he noticed the unusually familiar garment you wore. A black track jacket with small white details; the one he had been looking for all morning. A smirk made its way onto his face.
"What?" You asked, confused at his sudden pause. You saw the mischievous look in his eyes deep brown eyes.
"So that's why my jacket went," He remarked. "I've been lookin' for that." The young man grabbed onto your hand and gently pulled you inside his home. You shut the door behind you, curious as to what was going on in his head as he led you up to his room.
"Oh, hi, (Y/n)!" Saeko said once she noticed you, her tone peppy as always.
"Hi, Saeko," You waved with a smile. Though, she was swiftly removed from your line of sight as Tanaka hastily tugged you up the stairs.
"I don't even get to chat?" Saeko shouted at her younger brother playfully. "Come on, Ryu! Don't hog her!" You laughed as Tanaka dragged you down to his bedroom door. "She's gonna be my sister-in-law, ya know!" You felt Tanaka's hand grip yours tighter, a small warmth reaching your cheeks. It made your heart swell to know Saeko had such faith in your relationship.
Tanaka yanked you inside his bedroom. He slammed his door shut, effectively silencing any more of his older sister's comments. They were somewhat embarrassing, though, Tanaka would be lying if he said he hadn't thought about marrying you. Those fantasies always gave him butterflies; coming home to you after a long day, waking up to you first thing every morning...
"I didn't think you'd be looking for it," You admitted sheepishly, messing with the sleeves that hung below your fingertips. Tanaka watched you play with them nervously. He loved the way his jacket was too big for you, you always looked so cute in his clothes. It filled him with a bizarre sense of pride as if it symbolized you were his. Just like how the hair tie he wore on his wrist symbolized he was yours.
"Why are you looking at me like that?" You asked, the odd silence getting to you. He didn't answer. Instead, he reached out and cupped your face, bringing your lips to meet his. The kiss was slow and deep, his hands gently drifting to wind through your hair. Your arms wrapped around his neck, pulling him closer.
As you broke apart, you struggled to find your breath, your mind fogged. A dazed smile was on your face. Tanaka's large hands fell to your waist, which was covered by his jacket, squeezing it tightly.
"I like you in my clothes," He said in a low voice, kissing your cheek.
"It's that convenient," You remarked with a smile, "because I like being in your clothes." With ease, the young man lifted you into the air as if you weighted nothing and tossed you onto his bed. You began to laugh as he crawled on top of you, a flirtatious smirk on his face. You reached out to pull him back in for another kiss. You felt his hands wander your body as his tongue licked at your lips.
"I might have to steal your clothes more often, honey."
