~Y/n pov~

I looked over the wall and saw some fishing rods.

Someone was talking to themselves.

Jumping up, I walked over and peered over the wall.

Zoro followed me.

The fishman noticed us.

"Who are you? Me? I'm Hatchan!" He asked and then started introducing himself, "Call me Hachi."

"You a fishman, too?" Zoro asked though the answer was obvious.

You could tell just by looking at him.

"Of course, of course. I'm a fascinating octopus fishman!" Hachi gloated, "From the looks of it, you're human?"

"Yeah."

"A marine? Or maybe a guest?"

I smirked as an idea started to form.

"Yeah, we're guests. Can you take us somewhere?" I smiled politely.

He agreed.

~*~

We stood near the shore and saw a ship coming closer.

That must be Luffy.

The ship didn't stop and came straight onto land.

I quickly jumped out of the way and avoided it.

Zoro wasn't so lucky.

The boat crashed straight into him and crashed into the wall.

Zoro shoved the debris off himself and jumped up, "What the hell are you guys doing?!"

"What do you mean?" Luffy asked obliviously, "We're here to get Nami. Have you still not found her? Oh yeah! And what about Usopp?"

"Usopp! That's right. There no time to waste." Zoro exclaimed.

I nodded, "He was caught by the Arlong pirates. If we don't hurry he'll be killed."

"He was killed."

We turned our attention to who just spoke and saw Johnny there.

He looked all beaten up.

"We're too late..." Johnny panted out, collapsing to his knees, "Big bro Usopp was killed. He was killed by Big sis Nami."

"Quit spouting nonsense!" Luffy yelled angrily, grabbing Johnny by the collar and shaking him back and forth, "Nami would never kill Usopp."

I walked over to them and pried Luffy's hand off of Johnny.

Placing my hand on Luffy's cheek, I turned his head so he would look at me.

"Calm down, Luffy." I told him sternly.

His look of anger turned into a frown as he slumped over.

"Nami would never..." he muttered.

I wrapped my arms around his waist and hugged him.

He relaxed into my arms and let his body lean on mine.

I slowly managed to calm him down.

"Are you calm now?" I pulled away from the hug and looked at Luffy's relaxed face.

"Yeah." Luffy sighed.

"Why are you here?"

We turned and saw Nami stood there with her arms crossed over her chest and a serious look on her face.

"What're you talking about? You're out friend! We came to get you." Luffy replied.

"Friends? Don't make me laugh! You're just a pathetic group of people cooperating with each other."

Sanji stared at her with a blush on his face.

"Hi, Nami! It's me, do you remember me?" He had hearts in his eyes and he was waving his arms up and down rapidly, "Let's sail together."

I whacked Sanji on the head, "Idiot, what are you doing?"

"Y/n, you're so cute even when your angry."

I gave him a funny look and stepped away from him.

Zoro glared at Sanji and stepped closer to me.

"Where is Usopp?" He asked Nami.

"Bottom of the ocean." Nami responded nonchalantly.

"Cut the crap!" Zoro charged towards her but Sanji quickly stopped him.

"A swordsman would even strike a lady, Roronoa Zoro?"

"What?! You don't even know what's going on here! Back off!"

I watched as they both started to fight.

"I guess I'd be irritated too, coming right off an insulting defeat."

"Hey! Watch that mouth of yours."

"Mind your own business, you talk bastard!"

Nami interrupted them, "You can have your ship back, so go and find another navigator. Go look for your One Piece or whatever! Just get the hell out of here! You're an eyesore. Goodbye."

Luffy fell backwards and laid on the floor, "I'm going to sleep?"

"Sleep? In this situation?! And right in the middle of the road?!" Yosaku asked in shock.

"I don't plan on leaving the island, and I'm not interested in what's happening on the island. And I'm a little sleepy. I'm going to sleep." Luffy yawned and closed his eyes.

"Fine, whatever! Go ahead and die!" Nami yelled angrily and ran off before we could respond.

Johnny and Yosaku both left because they didn't want to get killed.

I sat next to Luffy and watched as Sanji and Zoro stared arguing again.

They both jumped up and charged towards each other.

Sanji kicked Usopp's face and Zoro hit him with his sword.

"I guess Usopp is alive.." I stated and watched as he fell to the ground, "Oh dear, is he dead?"

~*~

Luffy woke up and saw Usopp on the floor, "Usopp! Did Nami do this to you?!"

He shook Usopp back and forth and Usopp tried to respond but couldn't as Luffy was shaking him.

"Sorry. We did that." Sanji apologised.

"You did that." Zoro corrected.

"Luffy. You're here?" Usopp asked.

"Yeah, I just got here."

"Oh, I came too. Good to work with you." Sanji smiled.

"Someday I'm gonna kill you!" Usopp yelled angrily at the blonde.

"Oh. You're pretty alright after all!"

"Shut up!"

Speaking of which," Zoro started, "we heard Nami killed you."

"Eh?"

"That damn Johnny! He was talking nonsense after all!" Luffy complained.

"No... in a way, it's not a lie.." Usopp told us, "But it's actually the opposite! Nami saved my life!"

"Obviously." Sanji sighed.

"So, what do we do? Do we storm Arlong park?" Zoro asked.

"It's no use either way." Someone else spoke up.

We turned and saw someone with blue hair.

"No matter what you guys do, Arlong's rule won't come to an end."

"Nojiko." Usopp stated.

"Who's that?" I asked.

"Nami's older sister." Usopp responded.

"Nami's older sister?! No wonder she's so beautiful!" Sanji gushed.

"What do you mean it's no use?"

"Please, don't get any more involved with this village." Nojiko told us seriously, "Leave Nami alone. I'll explain the circumstances."

"You mean why she joined Arlong's group?" I asked.

"Yes. You'll feel like leaving the island once you hear it."

"I'll pass." Luffy stated, "I don't care about her past."

Luffy grabbed my hand and pulled me along.

"Where are you going?" Sanji asked.

"For a walk."

~*~

Luffy swung our hands back and forth childishly as we walked.

It was a nice day.

There were three fishmen.

I noticed Hachi there.

Hoping he wouldn't recognise me, I put my head down so my hair covered my face.

We walked past them casually.

"Hey! Wait! You!" Hachi called out to us.

We both stopped.

Luffy turned to face them, "Huh? You called?"

"Who are you? What are you doing on this island?"

"What does it matter to you?"

"Yeah. You have a point."

"I'm Luffy. I'm taking a walk."

"A walk? Have fun."

Hachi waved excitedly.

He's not very smart.

~*~

We walked through a village and then froze when we saw marines.

Are they here to take down Arlong?

"What does the navy want with Nami?" The villager leading them asked.

I'm guessing none of us have bounties as they walked right past us, barely noticing our presence.

"Why does that old man have a pinwheel on his head?" Luffy asked himself quietly.

I laughed at him.

The marines were here but he wanted to know why this man had a pinwheel on his head.

"I wanna sit down." Luffy stated, walking over to a tree and sitting in front of it.

"Are we going to the Grand Line after this?" I asked Luffy.

He grinned, "Yeah."

Luffy looped his arms around my waist and pulled me into his lap.

I leaned back and rested against his chest.

It had been a busy day so I decided to sleep for a bit.

I knew there would be a big fight soon.

Luffy rested his head on my shoulder and grabbed my hand.

He held my hand and rubbed his thumb over my knuckles.

I relaxed and allowed myself to drift off to sleep.

~*~

"Y/n, wake up." Someone was gently shaking me.

I opened my eyes and looked at them sleepily.

Luffy peered down at me and then looked up.

I followed his gaze and saw Nami surrounded by villagers.

Luffy jumped up and ran towards Nami.

"Hey, Nami. What's up? Need help with anything?" Luffy asked her, clearly not reading the room.

Her sister was unconscious.

Was that the marines doing? It seemed like they were after her.

"Are you still here?" Nami glared at him, "This has nothing to do with you! Leave the damn island already!"

She threw him to the ground and ran off.

Luffy huffed and sat beside me, "What's her problem?"

~*~

Nami stabbed the tattoo on her arms with a dagger and blood trickled down her arm.

She screamed out Arlong's name as tears poured down her cheeks.

The ginger swung the dagger back and forth, jabbing it into her arm violently.

I quickly caught the blade and threw it to the side.

"What do you want?!" She asked us, "You don't even know anything!"

"Yeah, I don't know." Luffy agreed.

"This had nothing to do with you! I told you, leave the damn island already!" Nami yelled.

"Yeah. You told me."

"Leave! I don't need you." Nami threw sand at us in an attempt to make us go away.

We both stayed silent as she cried.

"Y/n... Luffy..." She finally turned to face us, "Help me.."

Luffy wordlessly took off his hat and placed it on Nami's head.

"We came here to help you anyway." I smiled at her.

I handed her some bandages before following Luffy as he walked towards the others.

~*~

Luffy kicked the door down.

"Which one of you is Arlong?" He asked while holding his fist up.

"Arlong? My name happens to be Arlong..."

"I'm Luffy." Luffy started marching towards Arlong.

"So, what are you?"

"A pirate."

"That's him!" Hachi pointed at Luffy, "He's here! The guy who likes taking walks!"

The other fishmen tried to block Luffy but he just bashed their heads together and got closer to Arlong.

He swung his hand back and punched Arlong in the face.

Arlong went flying back and dust flew up.

"Who the hell are you?" Arlong asked as he stood up.

"Don't make our navigator cry!"

The fishmen who were knocked down suddenly leapt up.

"Don't insult Arlong!" They yelled while charging at Luffy.

Sanji kicked them all back, "Get back, small fries! Idiot, you went charging in on your own."

"I'm fine."

"I didn't say I was worried, I just didn't want you hogging all the prey."

"Oh."

"I don't mind if you hog them all, though." Usopp stuttered and shook.

He was sweating quite a bit.

"You sure got some guts." Zoro stated and he stood beside me.

"That's them!" Hachi yelled, pointing at us, "The water girl and the unknown swordsman."

Water girl? Well I guess the only powers I really use are my water ones since I can control them the best.

"It's Roronoa Zoro." One of the fishmen stated.

"Yeah, I thought so! They tricked me." Hachi frowned.

"Look, it's long nose."

"Didn't Nami kill him?"

"The bastard's alive. Which means..."

"I knew it. The girl was a traitor, as I suspected."

"What can you give inferior creatures possibly do?" Arlong laughed.

"Fool! You're not worth Arlong's time." Hachi made a weird trumpet like noise and the ground started to shake.

Something emerged from the water in front of us.

"Come out, Momoo!" Hachi yelled.

Out came a huge creature that looked like a cow.

It had tears in its eyes and looked timid.

"It's here!" Usopp yelled.

"Oh, it's him?" Luffy asked.

It instantly backed away when it saw Sanji and Luffy.

"He's a friend of the fishmen?" Sanji asked.

Momoo started crying and quickly fled.

"Where are you going?! Come back."

"Where are you going, Momoo?" Arlong asked.

Momoo froze when he heard Arlong's voice.

"Though, if you wanna run away, I won't stop you." Arlong continued.

Momoo growled and came towards us.

Usopp yelled in fear.

"I'll do it! This is a waste of time." Luffy shoved his feet into the ground and twisted his body around.

He grabbed Momoo by the horns and started spinning back to his normal position.

"Gum gum Pinwheel!"

Luffy yelled, swinging Momoo around in the air and then flinging him back into the sea.

He took out some of the fishmen too.

"I don't want to take on them, I want to take on you!" Luffy yelled.

Arlong smirked, "I was just thinking of kill you now."

"That was dangerous." Sanji yelled, kicking Luffy in the head.

"Are you trying to kill us, too?!" Usopp yelled angrily at Luffy.

Luffy wiggled around and tried to get his feet out, "Huh?"

"What are you doing?!" Usopp yelled.

Some other fishmen got up and glared angrily at us.

Usopp snuck off and hid.

"Hachi ink jet!"

We all dodged the spurt of black ink but Luffy's feet were stuck so it hit him.

"Idiot, why didn't you dodge?!" Zoro scolded him.

"His feet are stuck." I stated, pointing at the concrete around his feet.

Luffy yelled, "I can't see."

Hachi lifted up a huge piece of debris and dropped it on Luffy.

It cracked in half as Sanji managed to kick it away.

I placed my arms under Luffy's armpits and tried to pull him out of the concrete but his legs just stretched.

"Are you even trying to get out?" Usopp asked him.

Hachi and Zoro started fighting.

Zoro only had one sword as his others were smashed.

Usopp tried to pull Luffy out and let go off him.

Luffy went flying back to his original position and hit one of the fishmen.

He growled and started running towards Usopp.

Usopp yelled and ran away with tears running down his cheeks.

When he was far enough away, Usopp turned and shot something at the fishman.

It set the fishman on fire.

The fishmen growled and ran after Usopp again.

They were soon out of sight.

Arlong walked towards Luffy.

Luffy threw a punch at him but completely missed.

Arlong dug his fingers into the ground and ripped out the piece of concrete that Luffy was stuck in and threw it into the water.

I was about to jump in and get him but I remembered that I couldn't swim.

"One of you go into the water." I stated.

"Why don't you do it?" Sanji asked.

"I can't swim."

"Wait. Fishmen have an advantage in water so we'll take these guys out first." Zoro stopped Sanji from jumping in.

I stared worriedly at the water.

Luffy was probably at the bottom by now.

My powers were useless against fishmen since water wouldn't really do anything.

I formed an ice dagger in my hand and got ready to attack.

~*~

I sighed in relief when Luffy was finally saved.

We beat up Arlong and his crew and left the island with Nami.

~*~

"C'mon just one." Luffy begged.

"No." Sanji stated, "This is Nami's tangerine orchard! I won't let anyone lay a finger on it!"

Nami smirked.

She was totally using Sanji.

A flyer fell out of Nami's newspaper when she opened it.

I picked it up and looked at it.

It was a bounty poster for Luffy.

"Look, Luffy." I grinned.

"What?" He asked peering over my shoulder.

He gasped and snatched it out of my hands, his eyes sparkling as he stared at it.

"Cool!"

"No, not cool." Nami whacked him over the head.

"It says I'm thirty million Berries!" Luffy laughed, ignoring Nami.

"Look! I'm gonna be seen around the world! Girls might fall for me!" Usopp pointed to the corner of the picture.

The back of his head was in the picture.

"What? They put Long-nose in but left me out?!" Sanji complained.

I sighed at them.

"Let's rush into the Grand Line!"

"Our lives are in danger now." Nami sighed in exasperation.

She left for a few moments to get a map and placed it down on the floor.

"We're finally nearing the Grand Line.." Nami stated, "It looks like the only way into it is through Reverse Moutain here."

"Yeah, that's right." I told her.

She frowned and looked like she was about to ask me something before deciding not to, "We have to stop at an island first to restock. There's a famous city on this island... Loguetown."

"What? Is it famous for meat?" Luffy asked.

"Also known as the city of the beginning and the end.." Zoro stated.

"Sounds boring." Luffy whined.

I smirked, "Did you know that Gol D. Roger was executed there?"

"He was?" Luffy asked with sparkling eyes, "Let's go!"

Nami turned to me, "How'd you do that? Teach me."

"I've known him for a while." I responded, watching as Luffy jumped around excitedly.

~*~

"What are you doing?" Zoro asked when I sat down beside him.

"I'm tired." I whined, resting my head on his shoulder.

The swordsman grumbled but didn't try to shove me off.

"Just go to sleep or whatever."

I shuffled closer to him and leaned on him.

The calming motions of the waves and Zoro's breathing lulled me to sleep.

~*~

As always, Luffy had run off.

"I want to buy some new swords." Zoro stated and started to walk off too.

"Hey, wait." I quickly ran and caught up to him.

"What?" He asked.

"I'll come with you do you don't get lost." I laughed.

"I don't get lost." Zoro huffed.

"Whatever you say." I grabbed his hand.

His hand was bigger than mine and almost engulfed it. His hands rough because he wielded a sword and fought.

Only people who've never worked a day in their life have soft hands though.

He squeezed my hand and let me guide him.

A comfortable silence fell over us.

"Damn, these are expensive. Too expensive!" Zoro complained as he stared through the shop window at the prices.

"Even if it's expensive it doesn't mean it's the best. Maybe if we go in we could find something." I grinned, "Maybe you could buy a cursed sword. People would be dying to get rid of it."

Zoro hummed in agreement.

"Monster? How rude." A female voice retorted.

We turned our attention and saw a crowd surrounding something.

"Let's get closer." Zoro tugged my hand and pulled me towards the crowd.

Surprisingly, we didn't get lost on the way over.

"Very well. I will fight you." The girl stated.

"You will, girlie?!"

"Don't make me laugh!"

"What can a girl possibly do?"

If she didn't beat him up I certainly would. Sexist asshole.

Zoro got ready to step in when they charged at her but she pulled out a sword and knocked them out with it.

"You're amazing!"

She stumbled and tripped to the ground, dropping her glasses.

"Glasses." She mumbled to herself, placing her hand on the ground and feeling around for them.

They had landed at Zoro's feet.

Zoro accidentally stepped on them as he was about to go over and help, not realising it had landed near him.

"Zoro... you can't afford to pay for that, right?" I asked him.

"Yeah.." he breathed.

"My glasses!" The girl yelled in shock, "Those were expensive! How could you do something so horrible?!"

Zoro started panicking, "I didn't mean to."

I stopped them from arguing before it got to far, "It's okay. I'll buy you a new pair."

I smiled at her and hoped she would accept.

"Fine, since your boyfriend is too useless to pay for it himself."

What?

"Wait, Y/n." Zoro sighed, "You don't have to pay for it."

I glared at him, telling him to shut up.

If only we weren't in this situation in the first place.

I sighed, more angry at the girl because of what she said about Zoro.

"Let's go." I grabbed Zoro's hand and pulled him along to stop him from wandering off as the girl led us to where she normally buys her glasses.

I had to stop her from walking into things a few times.

~*~

We finally made our way back to the sword shop after buying the girl her glasses.

She wandered off somewhere, muttering a thanks before she left.

"I'd like some swords." Zoro told the person at the counter.

"Yes, yes! Welcome. Have a look at anything you'd like."

Zoro slammed his money down on the counter, "I've got one hundred thousand Berries. Sell me too swords."

While they talked, I stared at the swords hung on the walls.

"Eh? Two swords for one hundred thousand Berries?" The man frowned, "Fifty thousand a sword will only get you some dull blades."

"I'll make do with whatever. I just don't got any money." Zoro responded.

The man looked uninterested until he noticed the sword Zoro had.

"Lemme see that sword of yours."

Zoro handed it to him.

"Wow, that's not a bad sword. What do you say? I'll buy this for two hundred thousand Berries." The man smirked.

"Huh?"

"No? I'll give you three hundred thousand."

Zoro glared at him, "My sword isn't for sale."

The man still tried to negotiate prices.

Someone ran into the shop and asked for their sword.

I turned to look at them and noticed the girl from earlier.

She looked down at the sword, "Is this sword the Wado Ichimonji?! It is! It's worth no less than ten million Berries."

She smiled excitedly.

"Damn you! You had to blurt that all out." The shopkeeper yelled angrily.

"I'm sorry. Did I say something wrong?"

"That dumb girls saved you." The shopkeeper sighed, "It's true, that sword is legendary. All the swords in that barrel are fifty thousand Berries a piece."

He gestured over to the three barrels in the corner of the shop.

Zoro chose his swords and we left.

That girl, she was a Marine.

I was watching her closely.

It doesn't seem like she's realised who we are.

~*~

I saw Luffy up on the execution platform.

My heart almost stopped.

Buggy was next to him with his sword raised, about to kill Luffy.

"Sorry. I'm... dead." He smiled like nothing was wrong.

I felt tears welling up in my eyes but I refused to let them fall.

Suddenly, lightning crashed down into the platform and it collapsed.

I knew Luffy would be okay since he's made out of rubber.

While everyone else was still fighting, I quickly rushed towards Luffy.

Luffy jumps up and it started to rain.

The rain was getting heavier by the second.

I hugged Luffy tightly, "I'm so glad you're okay."

Luffy paused and then wrapped his arms around my waist, "Yeah. Sorry for making you worry."

He spoke quietly, his warm breath hitting the top of my head as I buried my face in his neck.

I sniffled and clung onto him.

"Ah, we need to go." Luffy suddenly realised as he scooped me up and began running.

I leaned my head against Luffy's tiredly

That Marine Captain was running after us.

Nami and Usopp split off from us as Zoro and Sanji continued to run beside us.

Anyone who got in our way, was kicked or punch by Sanji and Luffy.

Luffy decided to stay behind and fight the Captain.

"Zoro, take Y/n." Luffy placed me in Zoro's arms.

Zoro cradled me to his chest and kept running.

My body was shaking lightly as it stormed.

Luffy knew I was afraid of storms and still wanted me on his crew.

Though, I was useless during storms.

"You lied to me, Roronoa Zoro." Tashigi glared at him.

"It's not that I lied to you.. you just didn't ask my name."

Zoro sighed and handed me to Sanji, drawing his sword.

I stayed silent.

I knew Sanji could feel my body shaking but he didn't say anything or make his usual comments he usually does towards girls.

~*~

We all vowed to achieve our goals and smashed a barrel.

I didn't really have my own goal but maybe I'd find one along the way.

Right now, I wanted to help Luffy become King of the Pirates and nothing else.

"Let's go." Luffy dragged me away as the others followed Nami's instructions to get through the storm.

Nami was about to yell at us until she saw that I was shaking and she decided to let us be.

Luffy pulled me into the boys room and threw a towel on my head.

We both dried ourselves and then Luffy jumped into his hammock, pulling me in.

I laid on top of him and buried my face in his chest.

One of Luffy's arms was wrapped around my waist and the other was running through my hair in a soothing manner.

I eventually calmed down and managed to ignore the sounds of the storms.

Before I knew it, I was falling asleep.
