He heard the doorbell ring, and just raised a confused brow.
Usually, around this time, no one would be coming to see him. And there were no recording sessions whatsoever.
So who would be ringing the bell?
He pushed himself off his chair, shuffling up to the door to open it. He was greeted by a sheepish looking Namjoon who just awkwardly scratched his nape.
"Can I...?"
"Oh- yeah."
He moved to the side, allowing the younger in.
Joon immediately went to the couch, plopping himself down as he glanced at the screens Yoongi left on. He could see the familiar music editing site, and judging by the scattered colourful blocks, the elder seemed to be stuck while working on something.
"Anything you need?" the voice called, gaining back the younger's attention.
"No, not really. I just wanted to see how you were."
Yoongi raised an eyebrow. He sat on his seat.
"I am... okay?"
He got silence in return.
"I really am okay. You know me, I'm just stuck on working this."
"Of course I know you. That's why I know you're lying too. So come on... what's bugging you?"
"You are."
Joon pouted furiously. "Apart from me."
The elder remained quiet, and as the silence prolonged, he felt his resolve breaking.
He honestly was not ready to talk about it yet, but Namjoon always played the right cards to get someone to do something for him, and he plays them well. Honestly, maybe this is the push he needed.
He sighed softly, slouching in his seat.
"It's Jin-hyung..."
"Mhm..."
The alpha looked down at his hands, fiddling with a loose string of his shirt as he thought about how he was going to express his problems.
"I... have been holding back. And you know why."
Namjoon nodded.
"And last night, after you left, he uh... I'm not sure what really- t-triggered? Triggered him to um... break down."
He turned in his chair slightly, biting his lip, hoping he was saying this in the rightest way possible.
"I'm not... saying he's weak or anything. But- despite not wanting to go back to his ex after being hurt and rejected, his love for him is strong and- and that's causing him to breakdown, be- because his omega, uh... is still... infatuated with its old, supposed mate."

"And all this rejection happened at once, which didn't really give him time to adjust to the situation, because he had to focus on staying on track for his baby."
"I- I see..."
"And he told me, since I would be moving, it's best not to get too close- I uh... I offered to scent him since he was feeling very low, but he rejected because if he gets attached, and I m-move away, it's gonna hurt him more," he took a deep breath, his chest feeling tight, "I almost- I almost asked him to follow me. But that's not right. I can't suddenly ask him to move. I'm not his alpha, we're not even close like that."
"What about..." Joon says a moment later, "Didn't he have that friend of his?"
"Yes. But their relationship is more like brothers, and they're not even related by blood. He says it somewhat helps, but it's also affecting the other, and he felt like he was being a burden."

Yoongi could actually hear the gears turning in the younger's head, and he feels conflicting emotions of wonder and relief, at the same time fear for what the other might be suggesting.
"I... for sure cannot help you on your alpha."
Yoongi's face fell.
"But I'm sure Hobi would gladly help you on that. It is your first time, for your alpha as well, and it just doesn't want to fuck up your relationship with Jin-hyung."
Yoongi nodded.
"It just needs a little confidence, a little push in the right direction. You need to be able to be in sync with it so it wouldn't be too scared to take the next step, and that you would be able to pick up on its emotions easily. That way your instincts will get stronger, rather than getting mixed up and confused."
"I suppose I do feel confused about what I'm feeling sometimes. It's like, I want this so much, but my wolf holds me back."
"Yes. It's because you're not in sync. Suppressants can do that to you."

"And I'm not saying that taking suppressants is wrong, but people navigate around well when they are in sync with their wolves. "D-Does that mean I... I'll lose control or...?"
Namjoon shrugged, worry evident in his eyes. "That depends hyung. I'm not much of an alpha expert, but I've seen Hobi. He's also potent and very much dominant, but he handles his wolf easily, which is why he doesn't seem all that threatening."
"But- if he does- what... what does he do?"
"Hm... I'm not sure really... but he said my scent helps."

"What's up hyung?" Hoseok chirps, dropping his bag on the seat next to him.
On the table, there was a cup of mocha, with a slice of cake next to it, along with his own cup of coffee.
Hoseok gasped excitedly as he sat in his rightful place.
"Is this a date?" he gasped loudly, clapping his hands together as he looked at the elder with shining eyes.
Yoongi just grimaced at that, shuddering at the question. It got the younger to laugh, and it eased his nerves enough to give him the confidence to talk about it.
The younger alpha took a delicate sip of his drink, humming at the rich taste while smacking his lips.
"So. What's up? What do you want from me?"
"Why do you assume I want something from you? Can't I just treat my dongsaeng?"
"Hmm... you could. But I've known you for years, so it's definitely not that," he stated the obvious, sipping on his drink one more time. "So I'll ask again, what does my hyung want?"
The alpha was all smiley and bright and happy, and Yoongi lowkey regrets calling him out. But... it's either him, or Jungkook. Or random articles from the internet.
"It's uh... it's about Jin-hyung."
"Mhm..."
He felt a sense of déjà vu wash over him, but quickly brushed it off.
"I was talking to Joonie about this. And he uh... he said I should ask you instead about... about high-ranking alphas...?"
"Oh. Oooh..." Hoseok nodded, understanding.
"My alpha is quite... potent. There were times I have struggled with it because it easily went out of control. For that, doctors gave me strong suppressants to keep it at bay, and I've been taking them non-stop."
The younger tilted his head, worry marking his features. "Those aren't definitely good in the long run. You stopped them, right?"
"I did yeah... and I think... I think it's building up. And I'm worried that if it were to go out of control, I won't know how to uh... tame it."
"Hm... I did use strong suppressants for about a year or two. But then I turned to releasing all that energy by dancing."

"Yeah... before my ruts, I'll tire myself out, enough so my wolf won't have that energy to be too violent or anything."
Yoongi got quiet and sipped his drink.

Hobi laughed at that. "And you did b-boying, remember?"

Yoongi felt his jaw drop at that. He shook his head, trying to distract himself with his coffee.

The elder traced the rim of his cup slowly, seemingly lost in thought.
"The last time I had my rut, it was kind of... tough. I barely- but almost, overreacted. And then it died down."
"Hmm... What did you do after your rut?"
"I..." and he looked up, realisation in his eyes, "I went to see him."
Hobi was smiling too.
"And what did you do?"
"Went to buy him groceries."
"See? You wanted to provide for him. Take care of him. Was this your first time?"
"Of?"
"Feeling like that. Feeling like you need to provide. Or like... gift something? Food?"

All this while, he thought it was some simple attraction and a need to woo him. But it seems-
"It seems like your wolf has already decided," the younger's smile was dopey as he forked his cheesecake.

"You're not in sync in the sense of knowing. You acted upon your instincts as well as your wolf's, you just were not in tune with the fact that you are working together on it. You get me?"
The confusion on his face was clear, so Hoseok backtracked a bit to be clear.
"You have your own instincts. Right?"

"And your wolf has its own instincts. Right?"

"But you didn't know that at first, did you?"
He shook his head. "No."
"And that's where you're not in sync. And if you were, based on these instincts, you would understand your wolf's emotions, and your alpha would understand yours."

"And once you're in sync, you can understand why it was hesitating, which I think you do now, theory wise, but your wolf doesn't understand your intentions or why you would want to pursue another wolf who is afraid and hurt and hesitant, who rejected you."
Yoongi felt like he has learned the secrets of the world.

That's why the wolf is hesitating, because it does not know how Yoongi's feeling for the elder omega. Yes, he had been guessing these feelings of his alpha after overthinking a lot. But his wolf cannot do that.
He heard Hoseok cackling like a mad man in front of him, and he could only look at him with wonder, eyes wide and mouth agape.

"Indeed. So, all you need to do now, is to persuade your wolf that you too, are interested, and if you worked hard enough, you could win the omega's affection."
"I- but first I need to be in sync with it somehow... how do I do that?"
Hoseok pursed his lips in thought, looking off to the side.
"It happens when the suppressants are fully worn off from the body. I suppose your body has not fully cleaned it off just yet," the younger hummed, enjoying the pastry of his. "You could still start though. I could give you my counsellor's number. He's helped me with it. But the easiest way is uh... When is your next rut, hyung?"
"Um... soon?"
"Right. You probably would be checking up on him, like you did the last time. And maybe this time, give a little push- try to get his scent."
Yoongi's brain short-circuited and he gawked.
"Are you telling me to steal something of his?"
Hoseok looked mildly offended, placing a delicate hand on his chest. "Excuse you. I had to go through that too, you know? I had to keep coming up with reasons other than, 'you accidentally left them at my place Joonie', and pass him the clothes with hints of my rut scent on it."
"And how did he find out?"
"Are you kidding me? This is Namjoon we're talking about! His big brain was enough, he figured out my rut schedule, and he purposely left his clothes behind just so I could use them. It was like... five months in when I realised what he was doing. And I was so embarrassed."
"Okay- well-" he almost slams his hand on the table, "that does not mean I should do it too!"
"Well then- how else are you going to get his scent? By asking him?"
Yoongi pressed his lips together.
He is right. Gosh, he hates it when he is right.
"Hm? Are you really gonna go up to him and be like, 'Hey! I need your scent for my rut. Scent me! Or I scent you!'"
Yoongi cringed, and he felt his shoulders slump.
No way does he want to do that! To sneak into his neighbour's house, steal something? Absolutely the fuck not!

Seokjin felt embarrassed.
Embarrassed at the way things went last night.
He was definitely not supposed to break down like that in front of Yoongi.
Of all people, it had to be Yoongi.
But at the same time, he felt somewhat... relieved, after he confessed. Lowkey glad that it was Yoongi.
Honestly, he did not know where it came from, but he confessed his feelings about this whole situation to the younger. And it seemed like the other understood his hesitancy.
This time, the alpha definitely will get his point, and hopefully, be careful in the way he was giving him attention.
He also cannot blame Yoongi for everything, because he was desperate too, and he easily fell into those warm hands of the younger's. His omega definitely found comfort in that, but because he was carrying a child, and somehow, if the relationship did not work, it will hit him harder, probably, hopefully not, and will affect him and his pup.

He gulps, realising what this meant, and hoped and prayed to whatever god that was watching him and his pup, that this would be worth it, and that his omega would heal.
He held it close carefully, getting a whiff of the scent of alpha, and it relayed a clear message.
