this morning i sat in my unfinished room extremely nervous as i sat in a split putting my hair in a ponytail
let me explain, hi i'm bianca nolet and i just got invited along with my little sister to join the aldc elite competition team. Dance Moms.
abby found me and my sister at nuvo last season and the producers emailed my mom about wanting us for the start of the new season and she agreed
i'm not gonna lie, it's really nerve racking to join a team that has been together for years even before the show started but i'm trying to play it cool
i was wearing a gray sports bra with navy blue shorts and i slipped on my air force ones as i headed downstairs for breakfast "morning girls." my mom smiled as my sister birdie walked out our spare room that was being put together
we're originally from orlando florida and just moved to pittsburgh two weeks ago to join the team so the whole house was still in progress
she was wearing a hot pink sports bra and black shorts with two low pictales in her hair
"morning." we said in unison sitting down at the counter and our mom set bowls of cereal in front of us "you guys excited?" she asked us
"very, but very nervous." birdie said digging into her cereal "perfect way to put it." i nodded
"don't be girls, abby wanted you two on the team for a reason. she won't regret inviting you guys." she told us and we nodded
moment later our brother came out from there rooms "hey mom, can we push off school for another week?" blake my twin brother asked
my mom laughed at that "yeah no. you've missed two weeks at your new school already. your going." my mom said and they all groaned
"girls go get your bags, we have to leave soon." mom told us and we nodded taking the last few bites and went to our rooms
i hopped over a box that sat in my room and threw on a black hoodie then grabbed my purple dance bag and went back downstairs and grabbing my phone off the counter
i went back downstairs seeing my dad out a leash on our dog getting ready to take our golden retriever juice on a walk "brody! take your brothers to school!" my dad yelled to my older brother
i have 4 brothers, brody the oldest who's 16. blake my twin. brandon birdies twin whos 9 and lastly bowie who's 1 years old.
they would be doing in person school while me and my sister would be doing online school
"good luck today girls." my dad smiled and we went over to hug him "you'll do great." he said kissing our heads
"ok girls, let's roll." mom said, kissing dad and heading to the door and the two of us followed
i got in the front while birdie jumped in the back and the drive was only 10 minutes and after parking we got out and immediately there were cameras on us "calm guys." moms whispered
"hello!" we we're greeted by abby lee miller herself who smiled brightly at us "hi!" my sister and i said "hello, it's nice to meet you." mom shook abby's hand
"it's nice to meet you guys too. oh your all so beautiful. ok mom i'll have you sign here, it's the contract. i assume your read the emailed contract?" abby asked
"yes i did and i'll sign it." mom told her and was handed a pen "ok perfect. head into studio b and will start pyramid. i'll have gianna come and get you three." she told us and turned to bianca and i
"i will ask your to introduce yourselves and say your age your best styles and how many titles you have." she told us and we nodded and afterwards she pointed us to the direction of studio b
once getting there we set our bags down and started warming up "the nerves are setting in." birdie said shaking her hands
"no honestly but it's ok. remember the three c's" i said and she nodded "calm, cool and collected." we said in unison
we both distracted ourselves by doing tricks and stuff she might want us to use and soon the door opened "hi guys, it's time to come in." gianna i'm assuming told us and we nodded following her and stood outside the door
"ok girls i know you guys did well at nationals, but i need to light a fire under you girls. i need girls who can keep up with maddie maybe even beat maddie." abby went on and i could sense the looks being exchanged
"at the beginning of pyramid i said i'm gonna find talent. i think i already did." she added and opened the door and my sister and i walked in side by side and our mom behind us
"i'm gonna let them introduce yourselves." abby said looking at me and i smiled
"i'm bianca nolet i'm 11 years old. i do all styles but my best are contemporary tap and ballet. i and a 4 time titles holder at dance masters inc., 3 time titled holder at glow dance experience, 5 time titles holder at dance revolution, 7 time titleholder at starquest, 4 time titled holder at vip dance and 7 time titled holder at nuvo." i introduced and took a breath once finishing saying my titles
"i'm birdie nolet and i'm 9 years old. i also do all styles but my favorites are lyrical jazz and acro. i'm a 3 time titles holder at dance masters inc, 5 time title holder at vip dance. 5 time at groove dance competition and 5 time at nuvo." birdie introduced and the moms and girls were pretty shocked at our titles
"hello i'm brianna and i'm 39 years old and i'm an actress." mom smiled and brooke and payton looked starstruck
"amazing. you two join them. and brianna join the moms." abby said and the producers pointed at us where to stand so i was next to maddie and birdie and on her other side was payton
"i found these two at nuvo dance convention where they won there 7th and 5th titles and i invited them for the week, or maybe weeks. i feel they can challenge you all. there exactly what i need on this team." abby said making a few moms scoff
"now this week we're are attending wheeling west virginia to attend sheer talent." abby said and we all nodded
maddie and nia had solos then abby turned to me "now bianca, i'm throwing you in. you have a solo this week." abby told me and i smiled as the girls clapped
"wait abby. so kendall comes in 2nd at nationals and your first off give nia a solo, but now your giving the new girl a solo?" jill asked confused
"yes i wanna see where bianca places on this team. so why not have her up against maddie her first day. we can see if i should keep her or not." abby told her and jill rolled her eyes
chloe paige and kendall then had a trio and the group was called Girls Night Out and it was jazz
"moms i'm gonna have you go upstairs girls spread out." abby said as everyone did so
BRIANNA POV
i went upstairs with the moms and watched as they all took there seats "come on you can sit right here." melissa waved me over between her and jill
i smiled setting my purse down and taking the seat watching as the girls warmed up "so brianna where you guys from?" melissa asked me
"orlando florida." i answered "wait so your an actress where have i've seen you?" christi thought "i was on pretty little liars." i answered
"oh yes! brooke and peyton love that show." kelly smiled
"melissa you nervous, i mean two girls maddie and mackenzie's age. multiple titles and they do the same styles as your girls. i'd be nervous." christi said shaking her head
"not really. my girls can hold their own." melissa deflected "we'll have to see then." i nodded
"are you three aiming for permanent spots, cause that's for peyton." leslie stated and i shrugged watching as they started the group
"who knows, we'll have to see how the week plays out. it's all up to abby." i answered
"your so mysterious, i love it." holly told me making me smile
"your girls pick up quick." kelly observed and i hummed "yup they do a lot of conventions and just quick learners in general." i said
"do you have any kids at home?" holly asked me and i nodded "yup three more boys. brody my oldest then blake, bianca's twin. brandon, birdies twin and bowie my youngest." i told them and they nodded
"birdie such a beautiful name." holly told me making me smiled and thank her
"so brianna do you think it's fair that your child walked in her and her first day got a solo over kendall ?" jill asked me
"well i don't think it has anything to do with kendall. i think she just wants to see how she'll place just like she said." i said simply cause the concept wasn't hard to understand
BIANCA POV
we had just ran half of the dance that we learned and we all stood up out of breath and turned to abby " girls, we have three days to learn this number and your onstage trying to defend your honor as the raining national overall high score winners." she said then turned to maddie
"maddie i know you wanna go out on that stage and be amazing. and if this team isn't gonna support you and be amazing. i'll find people for you to dance with." she said before looking at me and my sister "oh wait i think i already have. making this into a trio seems tempting." abby said
and although the complement was nice, i know it hurt the girls who've been here for a long time so we both didn't show how happy the comment made us
abby then staged a fight between peyton and chloe for the group to recreate the fight between christi and leslie last season which was kinda funny

afterwards we all went into the den for a break and birdie and i brought our bags in and putting them on a shelf then grabbed a water
"it's nice to meet you guys." we heard and turned to a smiling chloe "you guys are amazing." she told us
"thank you, we're happy we get to dance with you guys." i said as the rest of the girls came over
"how long have you guys been dancing?" maddie asked us "both at 4 years old i think." birdie shrugged
"by the way i love your name." kenzie told birdie making her smile at the very common compliment "thanks." she smiled and we all sat down together
"did you guys just move to pittsburgh?" brooke asked "yeah two weeks ago." i nodded
"is it just you two?" paige asked "no we have 3 brothers" birdie told them
"an older brother brody, my twin blake, her twin brandon and our baby brother bowie." i said and they nodded
we talked for a bit more until abby called me and maddie into the studio "ok bianca i'm going to have you sit in on maddie's solo rehearsal so you can see how we work." she told me and i nodded sitting next to her mat
maddies solo rehearsal went by relatively quick and it was peaceful. different from the other girls i've seen on the show. but in the middle gianna and the girls came in with a cake for maddie's national win. but after maddie got her water we switched and i stood in the center of the room
"ok so your peace is called Back To Me and it's lyrical. you have to work really hard this week since your going up against maddie ok?" she said and i nodded
"stand center and face the left head down. two counts after the instrumental hands up like this. step out with your right foot and hands up. slowly go into a elbow stand after once count bring your right leg out into a split. then a staggered." abby instructed and i went along with what she said
"four pirouettes into a side ariel." she said and told me a few more counts "ok can you do a turn in a scorpion?" she asked me
"oh yeah." i nodded "perfect. after your leap do two turns with your leg out into four of those turns." abby said and i went back to where i ended in the leap and did the choreo
abby clapped with a smile "there you go. those girls in there couldn't do that if they tried. let's keep going." she told me making me smile
"ok show me your best turn combo." abby told me and i thought for a moment before doing 18 different types of turns and as i came our my last one her and gianna were already clapping
"you see this maddie?" abby asked and the girl nodded while bitting her nails "amazing, you should be confident this week." abby told me making me smile
30 minutes. that's how long it took us to finish my solo "30 minutes? that was less then maddie. ok let's clean it. wow none of these girls could've learned this in 30 minutes." abby said to gianna who agreed and i went to my starting position
BRIANNA POV
we all watched as bianca finished her solo in 30 minutes and watched as she praised her "30. oh my god she's right our girls can't do that." christi shook her head
"i have to give it to you brianna. your girls are amazing." holly told me making me smiled cause she was right
"melissa you nervous yet, i would be. maddie seems nervous too." jill pointed out as maddie say biting her nails
"no maddie's got this. but i do think bianca is a great competitor for maddie." melissa stated
"i agree. bianca's working her butt off." i said
BIRDIE POV
i sat on my phone in the den when i felt a presence next to me "hey." she smiled
"hi mackenzie." i smiled back setting my phone down "call me kenzie. you know since we're the youngest on the team, we're bound to be best friends." she told me
i smiled at this "i'd like that." i said and we just started talking and we discovered that we lived two houses away from each other "we could have so many sleepovers." she said
BIANCA POV
rehearsal was over for the day and all of us were in the living room as my dad made dinner "so how was your guys first day?" dad asked
"brandon got in trouble already." blake shrugged getting a smack in the arm "it was just a miscommunication between me, a dodgeball, and a kid who kept looking at me funny." brandon shrugged like it wasn't a big deal
"yeah, ok brody what about you?" mom asked as she sat at the counter "good actually. i made the lacrosse team and i might be starting at our next game." he said while scrolling on his phone
"nice im proud of you." mom smiled "i made amazing chicken nuggets in my new cooking class. my teacher and whole class loved them." blake said
"well we all know where you cooking skills come from son." dad said turning our way with a smug look "definitely not your mother." he said and she threw a towel at him
"kids you burn water one time when your 16 and you never live it down." mom said shaking her head making us laugh
"girls what about you. first day on a new team. a tv show. how was it?" dad asked calming his laughs down
"really good actually. the girls seem to like us and i even got a solo." i said happily "that's awesome."
"is she as crazy as she seems on tv?" brody asked and i shrugged "not today she was pretty calm. i think she likes us." birdie told them
"cool. mom don't get pissed off and and go all crazy dance mom." brandon turned to mom
"language." dad said as the door bell rang "what its not a bad word." he said making us laugh "it's not."
"oh hi melissa." i heard my mom said and we all turned to the door seeing melissa maddie and mackenzie
"hi brianna, kenzie told me on the way home you guys moved two doors down from us so here are some welcome to the neighborhood cookies." she told us and we turned to birdie
"oh yeah the zieglers live two doors away mom." birdie said and she chuckled talking the plate of cookie "thanks bird." mom said and smiled at melissa "these look amazing, thanks melissa"
"yeah of course. and also if you never need anything weather it varies with the team or not you can come to me." melissa said making my mom smile
"thank you i really appreciate it." mom said having my mom take the plate as she hugged melissa
"well have a good dinner and we'll see you three tomorrow." she said and my said the same as they left and she closed our door
TWO DAYS TILL COMPETITION
the next morning i was in the studio with abby running my solo before the rest of the girls got there just to clean it a little more
while i ran it with gianna my mom signed me and my sister up for some classes and privates cause even if we don't compete with the elite team anymore we both still wanna dance here
she signed me up for latin, hip hop, salsa, tap and ballet with tap and ballet privates and she signed birdie up for salsa, acro, tap and ballet
i was wearing a gray hoodie and black shorts until the rest of the girls came and then i took my hoodie off where i wore a purple sports bra and the straps crossed in the back
the girls all came in and warmed up for the group but brooke wasn't here yet but before we could run the dance abby read an email stating some singer wanted us to dance for a gig brooke would be singing at
i was honestly confused but when brooke came in it was very tense
but later on in the day the girls went to brooke's concert but birdie and i stayed at the studio and i worked on my solo some more and birdie learned a solo for next week
we even went to dinner with abby and gianna and got to know them and i feel like they liked us even more after today
COMPETITION DAY
it was competition day and the nerves were really setting in as we got off the bus and seen the screaming crowd
we grabbed our suitecase from the bottom of the bus and i stood next to maddie as we went through
last night while my mom had a work thing melissa took birdie and i to her house and we spent the night and got to know each other more
i'm happy to say we're becoming really good friends with maddie and kenzie
we got some confused looks from the crowd but either way we made our way to the dressing rooms and started getting ready
while my sister stretched with kenzie i started getting ready for my solo doing my hair in a low bun "ok girl's costume." abby called and we went over as she opened the box
abby handed me a two piece red costume that had a red hair piece that my mom sewed in my hair and maddie nia and i all changed into our costumes
i shook out my nerves and my mom came over to me "ok your ready?" she asked me and i nodded "good. don't be nervous, have fun. the 3 C's like we talked about ok." she told me and i nodded
she kidded my cheek and said "i love you. be beautiful. have fun." she told me and i nodded
we all went backstage and after watching the trio i stood in the wings nervously watching maddie but clapped as she came offstage "that was amazing maddie." i told her
"thank you. good luck you'll be amazing. just remember face, and technique which is no problem. be amazing." she said hugging me
"thank you, really." i said and she nodded going to get a water "good luck B. be amazing." my sister said from behind me
"thanks bird." i smiled and we did our family handshake
"please welcome bianca dancing to Back To Me." i took a deep breath and went onstage and i honestly think i did really good
i remembered the dance, my faces were good. i really think i could win but you never know
when i walked back into the wings the girls and my sisters hugged me and after nia's solo we went to the dressing room and got ready for the group
abby went on describing what she wanted for the team and basically just me and my sister "none of that was peyton." leslie shook her head
my hair was in two french braid that went into a low ponytail that was crimped and birdie had two low crimped pictales with pink clips
we all had on different costumes and mine was a black long sleeve crop top with a sparkly hot pink skirt and birdie wore hot top that was like a swimsuit top and a black tutu
after marking the dance abby basically yelled at peyton for crying about her hair which was very awkward
finally we went backstage and the girls did there ritual but stopped and pulled birdie and i into do it with them
we smiled at the gesture and once we finished we went in the wings and went out when our number was called
i honestly think we did really good but it was a jazz number so you never know what could happen
after an hour lunch break birdie and i had put on black zip ups and joined the girls onstage for awards which started with trios who got 1st in preteen
now it was the solo division and i held my sisters hand nervously "4th place goes to no with freedom in paradise." they announced and nia stood up grabbing her award
"2nd place goes to maddie with birthday." my jaw dropped as maddie got up with a slight smile grabbing her award
"i didn't place." i whispered to my sister and she shook her head "don't think like that." she said and i sighed
"first over all of the entire day is..." they trailed off and i squeezed birdies hand tighter "bianca with Back To Me!" my jaw dropped as i stood up going to grab my trophy
i sat back down getting a hug from maddie and my sister and looked to my mom who had a huge smile on her face with a thumbs up
i looked over to abby who was high clapping with a smile on her face
i'm so happy and proud of myself right now. i beat maddie. MADDIE ZIEGLER! how many people have done that? and i did it on my first week on the team.
the group got 3rd in the junior division and we all waited in the hall while the moms were in the dressing rooms and they took pictures with fans
i went over to the red carpet that had a sheer talent poster and i posed with my trophy while birdie took pictures until we were allowed into the dressing room
i skipped happily to my mom who gave me a huge hug and i squeezed her back "you were amazing honey. you blew me away." she told me
"she was so nervous onstage she almost bruised my hand." birdie said making me chuckle
"bianca you were nervous? you were amazing congratulations." abby told me motioning me over for a hug which i gladly gave
"i expect to see you three at the studio next week bright and early." abby told us as i stood back over by my sister and the three of us smiled
"we'll be there." my mom nodded
then abby got somewhat serious "i don't usually announce where we're going until pyramid. but next week we are going to ohio. and you all know who's in ohio." she said and the moms exchanged looks
i already knew it was cathy but how bad could she really be
"3rd place overall has me a little bit worried." she said and left the room with gianna
well my sister and i had a really good week this week and i'm excited for what's to come with this team
