(This is after Mathew left, an before the call. )
Once Mathew and Charlie left they both went to go to Esme's house. It will take about 2 hours to drive there.
"So what are we gonna do if she doesn't admit that she has a son." Charlie said.
"Nothing, she clearly doesn't want anything to do with Ender then. So... I'll leave it there and tell Ender that she just doesn't exist. Or the easiest one that she's dead." Mathew said, those were the only logical answers, without telling him the actual truth. Which may hurt him more then to say that she left him.
But then again these are all 'what if's' she may want to see him.
An hour later though, he got a call from Simon.
"A call already?" Charlie joked.
"Let's just hope that it's nothing bad."
An so he answers the call, an that's when he learned that it's Ender an how he isn't eating. He will admit though, how he loved the fact that he was trying to follow the rules in not eating before him.
But he can't not eat for a whole day.
"Ender it's okay to eat I'm giving you permission to eat without me there that's why I put the others in charge.
So that you can eat with them." Mathew tried to convince him, but in the end he had to do a face cam so that he can see him.
Once he was on he can see that his face instantly lit up at seeing him. An Mathew loved how dependent Ender was on him and how he wanted to see him.
Ender is possibly the most needy of the Beast, especially a dragon beast.
Shortly after he had to hang up because of how close they were to Esme's house. He told Simon to call again if anything happens. But he also told Ender that if he eats without him there that he will give him and the others a prize.
Once they arrived they stay outside of the house for a bit. They were making sure that she was in there, and that she was the right person. Well they can only truly know once they go up there.
And so they get out of the car an knocked on the door.
The doors opens, but instead of a women they were met with a teenage girl.
"Yes?" The girl asked.
"Hi is Esme Beithir here?" Charlie asked.
"Yeah? Can I ask why your here?" She said with an attitude.
"I'm detective Charlie this is Mathew, we're here to speak with Esme." Charlie said.
"Mom! The police are here!" The girl said.
The women who they suspect is Esme came to the door an offered them to come in.
Once they did, they reveled why they were here.
"Miss Beithir, we have a question for you, but I ask that you listen to all that I have to say before you say something." She nodded her head.
"Did you have a kid about 18 years ago, it would've been a boy?" Charlie asked.
At the mention, she immediately tensed up, and looked away. A clear sign that she knew what he was talking about.
"No, I'm afraid that I have no clue what your are talking about I only have one child an that's a girl. Her name is Chloe. And I really don't like the accusations that you are throwing at me!" Esme said getting angry.
"Ma'am I only ask you because we have him, all I'm asking is that you look at the photos of him." Charlie said as he pulls out a photo of Ender an shows her.
As soon as she looks at it you can see many emotions run through her face. From guilt to sorrow but then to anger.
"No! How many times do I have to tell you I DON'T KNOW HIM AND I NEVER WILL!" She screamed.
"I don't ever want to see you or that boy again, it was all a mistake that I don't regret leaving!"
They both started at her, she left him because she regretted him? She clearly just admitted him.
"You left him out there all alone, a little boy who knows nothing about survival. How old was he? 3? 5?" Charlie pressured.
"NO! I-I."
"Why did you leave a defenseless little boy out there all lone? Could you not care for him? There are places that you could've left him no questions! But no you leave him all alone he could've died why?!" Mathew said he couldn't help it.
Her reasoning wasn't right, no mother would do that, so why did she?
An then he got it.
"He was a monster just like him! He's a monster! With these horrible eyes and he constantly he attacks people. But the worst of all he's just like his father! He grew wings that boy is the living devil!" She yelled.
It was quite clear now....she obviously doesn't want anything to do with her son, an never will, but his father? He never mentioned him before, maybe there's a little hope for Ender to have a family root.
"Your last name." Charlie stated.
"What about it!"
"The boys father, did you know him?"
They may be mad and despise her. But if she knows him that can be a chance for Ender.
"Huh, do I know Him? I knew him before I figured out what he was, and that I carried his hideous offspring! His name is Alistar, Alistar Dragon! What a name right?!" Esme said words full of venom.
So that's were Dragon came from, there was a last name with Dragon.
"We were married for a year before I food out the monster he was, I changed my name back to it's maiden name. He said he liked it and that we were perfect for each other. Whatever that means." She said as she rolled her eyes.
That explains a lot, dragons mate and to find the perfect mating partner of almost rarity. So the fact that her last name is Dragon is another language is what probably grew him in to her.
But it wasn't meant to be.
They both got up and left without saying anything, they walked silently back to the car and just drove. But before they got home, Charlie pulled over. They just sat there and contemplated everything that was told to them.
Mathew suddenly got out and just angrily started to walk around, this always happens when family is involved. Hearing all of those horrible things being said about his lovers.
Charlie got out and waited, he knew that he needed this. So that he doesn't bring it to the others.
"Why! That's her son and instead of...there were multiple things that she could've done and instead she just left him! And what she said about him!"
Suddenly there was a call, he looked down and saw that it was Simon. He immediately answered.
"Simon nows not a-"
"..."
"What! What's going on!"
"..."
"Who's there!"
"What do mean they want Ender! who is he!"
"..."
"We're on our way now! Hide! don't get in the way. And don't fight!" Mathew said all trace of anger is gone in a instant.
They both got in the car and drove home.
"Mathew what's wrong? What's happening?" Charlie said.
"There's an attack....it's Ender's father?"
