"Remember! Exams have been moved up a week and will make up a majority of your final grade!" The teacher yelled out, while you were practically getting pushed out of the classroom.
'How kind of her, giving us a giant load of homework and then giving this huge announcement at the end of class.' You thought, your mood turning sour.
You weren't able to finish any homework in class because your classmates just had to be annoying and continue to interrupt the teacher's lesson multiple times. And since you were in the reserve course of the prestigious Hope's Peak, the stakes are even higher. If your grade on an exam isn't above an eighty five percent, somebody could take your place and you get kicked out of the school. So yeah. Not. Ideal.
The backpack you were wearing was full of bricks instead of books as you got home. You immediately put it on the floor and room and take minute to catch your breath. You check your phone out of habit and see you have a message from your best friend in the main course.

You looked at the time, an hour had nearly gone by. You sighed deeply in frustration and began to start focusing on your immediate homework. But after a while, your brain started turning to mush. Rereading entire paragraphs, yet not being able to understand a single word. Anger went through your veins.
"Why cant I understand anything?? Am I just stupid???" You thought to yourself, emotions choking you. The urge to just crumple up paper and say "funk the test" was very strong, but you had schools and people to impress. If you didn't try for the test, you would beat yourself up for it over and over again. God, why didn't the stupid teacher just announce a few days earlier.
SOMETHINGS IN MY-
The notification of Byakuya video calling you gave you a small break from your thoughts. Normally you would get yourself a little bit more put together when answering anyone's calls, but at this moment you didn't really care.
"What do you want?" You grumbled, camera facing the ceiling. He was in his usual clothes, not changing from the uniform.
"Well pardon my intrusion oh mighty one," he quipped, "but I just learned that the reserve course has exams coming up. Now I know you are barely capable of conjuring any unique thoughts and retaining any, so-"
You hung up on him. Honestly, who does he think he is? No wonder you wanted new friends.
But Togami is persistent. He calls again and you pick up.
"You know what? That was a bit understandable. But you didn't let me finish, tch."
"Oh jeez really? How did you know I live laugh LOVE being insulted while I'm stressed!" You snapped at him. If there was one more minor inconvenience, you would burst into tears. Not even kidding, you were that done.
Byakuya was quiet for a few moments, which in itself is uncharacteristic of him.
"...I was going to say that, I am going to help you. Since I am such an intellectual, helping you should be no problem. Do you accept?"
"Bruh why are you acting like it's a big fancy business deal? And YES DUH I WANT HELP. OH MY HEAVENS ABOVE THANK YOU." Everyone you knew would be studying on their own, and you didn't want to interrupt them.
"Don't act so dramatic. I'm just bored and need something to do." He brushes the act off, pretending he's not being your saivor right now.
"Mhm, sure, at 10:30 at night? Y'know some might find it veeery interesting that when you're 'needing something to do' you call me." You look at him in the camera, and see as he stares wide eyed at the book he was grabbing.
He was frozen in place. He stayed that way for a solid minute before going back to his big leathery 'big boss chair' you referred to as "The BBC". He ran a hand through his hair exasperatedly, "Alright, what's the subject?"
"Yes. All of the above."
"Oh no, this is gonna be a long night."

"Dude thank you so much. You have no idea how much you've helped me." It was 2:46AM, and Byakuya had helped you with everything you didn't understand. He even ran you through a few examples.
"I have a few ideas how much I helped you." His glasses were cast aside and he was casually laying in his BBC.
You were using the wall next to you as a pillow "You actually make a pretty good teacher, surprisingly." You told him
"What can I say? With enough money you can do anything." He leaned even further back into the chair, if possible.
"Wait do I have to pay you?"
You and Byakuya stared dumbfounded at each other for a minute, before bursting out laughing.
"No no of course not. This was merely charity work." You were both hysterical from lack of sleep, "On a more serious note, I cannot feel my ankles. I'm going to sleep and I recommend you do the same." His words were getting more slurred as he talked more. You agreed with him before hanging up.

A/n: aaaand we're getting back into the normal scheme of things. User updating??? Not clickbait???? But also (this is just for future reference) if you want to request something, PLEASE go to the request page, it's very hard to track down a request in a sea of comments on a random chapter. A: I tend to hyperfixate on topics for a year and then leave that one behind for a new topic. This happened to me with Danganronpa. I'm getting back into it, but there was a period where I just stopped having any interest in it. At one point I actually HATED Byakuya,,, and yk it's hard to write romantic fanfiction about a character you don't like. Especially since I'm a perfectionist, I want my fanfics to be top quality oneshots and stories.
Q: Will you finish previous requests?
A: yessiree
Q: Do you still like Byakuya?
A: sort of. It's more of an appreciation rather than simping now, but I do enjoy writing his character and interactions with Y/n.
Q: How often will you update?
A: My goal is every other week. With topics I need to research before I write, expect a bit longer. Also if it's a scenario
