The cold wind during the night hitting Beomgyu's bare skin as he stands on the balcony, twirling the glass filled with crimson liquid in his hand. He takes a sip, as his throat are filled with the luxury taste of the blood. He chugs every single drop until there was none left inside the galss. He sighs. He looks at the moon as his eyes twinkle at the sight of the moon shinning brightly in the dark canvas.
"Just a few weeks after arriving here, and everything went downhills"
He mumbled, massaging his temples. First, he and Yeonjun were sent to kill Minseol's heir. It's not even a month, they've encountered a corrupted vampire and a vampire hunter's son. Beomgyu sighs.
"We haven't even found any clue of the Kim's heir"
He muttered, turning around and takes the empty bottle in his hand. He grunts.
"Seriously? There's only one bottle of blood left.. I planned on saving the last bottle for next week"
Guess, I'll just starve myself..
He grumbled. He sighs, taking the empty bottle to the trash can and dispose it. He cleans the glass and goes back to the balcony only to see a certain scarlet hair male sitting on the balcony tapping his feet on the ground furiously. Beomgyu gives a side eye to his brother.
"What are you doing here?"
Yeonjun furrowed his eyebrows.
"I need to talk to you about the Huekkinkai kid"
Beomgyu gives him the 'what the fuck' look at the scarlet hair male.
"His name is Hueningkai"
Yeonjun clicks his tongue.
"Whatever. He's a fucking vampire hunter's son, Beom"
Yeonjun explained. But the black hair male just shrugs. Yeonjun scoffs.
"I repeat, he's a fucking vampire hunter's son for fuck's sake!"
Beomgyu rolls eyes in annoyance.
"What do you want me to do then?"
Yeonjun grunts in frustration. First, he has zero patience and second, the way Beomgyu acts right now triggers every anger buttons he has inside his body.
"Shouldn't we get rid of him?!"
He whispered yelled. Beomgyu scoffs.
"Yeonjun?! Our quest was to kill Minseol's last heir not a human!"
Beomgyu replied. Yeonjun's fingers gi through his red strands harshly. He grunts in frustration thinking of the possibilities of Hueningkai killing then if the blondenette knows they're vampires.
"Beomgyu, he's a threat to us!"
The older argued, shaking Beomgyu's shoulders. The younger shoves his hands away looking at the older in disbelief.
"He's Taehyun's friend!"
Beomgyu replied. He couldn't believe that Yeonjun is not in his sane mind right now. The scarlet hair male gasped.
"You're not willing to kill that Kai kid because he's Taehyun's friend?!"
Yeonjun said raising his voice a bit, startling the younger. Beomgyu hesitates to answer. What was reason? Why?
"Noㅡ we're not suppose to hurt humans, Choi Yeonjun"
Beomgyu growled. Yeonjun couldn't help but sighs for the nth time.
"I'm worried, Beomgyu. I'm afraid. I'm afraid that I will loose you someday"
Yeonjun explained, his voice is softer than before. Beomgyu's heart sank hearing his brother's words.
"What ifㅡ"
Yeonjun paused. Tears prickling in his crimson orbs. Beomgyu's eyed soften at the sight of the vurnerable older male. He'd never seen Yeonjun acting like this before.
"What if one day, he hurts you? Or maybe kills you? Iㅡ Iㅡ I don't want that to happen"
Yeonjun added cupping both of his little brother's cheeks. God knows how much he loves and adores that little brother of his. Beomgyu's everything to Yeonjun. The only family he had left, the only friend he had in the vampire realm.
"That will not happen, hyung"
Beomgyu reassured. But still, he could still see the crystal clear flowing down from Yeonjun's crimson orbs, lips trembling while the older's hand still caressing his cheeks.
"I don't want to lose my only family"
Pang.
Yeonjun's words hits home. Sure, Hueningkai is a threat for the both of them. But that's not the only reason why they should kill him. Beomgyu doesn't want to kill the blondenette. He doesn't want to. He's afraid. Afraid that Taehyun will hate him if he does so.
"Hyungㅡ"
His words got cut off by the sudden blackout. They both hear a loud scream coming from Taehyun's bedroom. Exchanging glances with each other, Yeonjun jumps off the balcony as Beomgyu is running and runs into anything that is on his way. Thanks to his vampire sight, he manage to find Taehyun's room depsite the darkness. He twists the doorknob and was greeted with another darkness.
"Taehyun?"
He called. But the younger didn't answer. He could hear the faint sounds of someone's sniffing and crying inside the room. Being cautious, he turns on the flashlight in his phone and points it to every corner of the room. And the end of the room, he saw the silver hair male curling into a ball, hugging his plushies, sobbing his eyes out. He approaches the younger. He taps the younger's shoulder.
"Heyㅡ"
Taehyun yelps and smacks Beomgyu's hand away before sobbing louder than before. Beomgyu panics.
"Hey hey.. it's okay it's okay"
He comforted. But it makes no use. Taehyun keeps on weeping his eyes out and eventually becomes tinier than ever in Beomgyu's eyes. The older couldn't help but feels guilty for startling him.
"Taehyun.. Taehyun.."
He called, putting both of his arms on the younger's shoulder. But Taehyun wriggles himself from Beomgyu's grasp and screams like a maniac.
Fear.
Afraid.
Trauma.
"It's me!! It's me!! Beomgyu!!"
Beomgyu added shaking the younger male. But Taehyun didn't respond, the younger keeps screaming and weeping as if there's something in the dark that scares the shit out of him. Taehyun tighten his grips on the plushie, basically digging his nails into it. Seeing the younger male won't budge, Beomgyu pulls him into a hug. Whispering sweet things into his ears while drawing circles on the younger's back, calming him down.
Taehyun smacks and punches Beomgyu's chest again and again but Beomgyu withstand them all. The younger's weeps soon turns to soft sobs. But that didn't stop Beomgyu from hugging him. He could hear Taehyun's heart is going in a fast pace from all the shock.
"It's okay.. It's okay.. I'm here hmm?"
Taehyun sniffs. Nodding his head before wiping his tears with the back of his hands. Beomgyu chuckles softly. He carries the younger in bridal style, before tucking him to bed. Taehyun didn't even let go of the plushie as Beomgyu sits on the edge of the bed, playing with Taehyun's silver strands.
"Why didn't you turn on your night-light?"
Beomgyu asked softly not wanting to scare the younger again.
"Theyㅡre out ofㅡ batteries"
Taehyun answered in the midst of his hiccups. Beomgyu nods.
"Hyung.. can you sleep in my room? Just for today? Please..."
Taehyun added. He's afraid. Afraid that something that he saw in the dark years ago will try to kill him once again. Without uttering any words, Beomgyu positions himself beside Taehyun under the blanket. Taehyun automatically snuggles into the older's chest.
"Goodnight and thank you, hyung"
Taehyun mumbled, closing his eyes. He notices that Beomgyu is panicking by his sudden action but what he didn't notice is that the older's is a blushing mess and something's bulging out from his pants. Beomgyu hesitantly wraps his arms around the younger.
"Goodnight too, Taehyun"
