~Y/n POV~
After a few more minutes of us sitting in a comfortable silence on the beach with the sound of the waves gently crashing against the shore we decided to head back
"Can you and me just have a sleepover tonight?" Alberto asks me
"Alberto...I know what you're trying to get" I say as I keep my eyes focused on the ground in front of me
"What's that?" He asks and I can practically hear the smirk
"Cuddles." I simply say
"Nuh-Uh!" He protests
"Yuh-Huh!" I protest back
This goes on for the rest of the walk
"PLEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAASSSSEEEEEEE" Alberto begs
"Oh my god! Alberto Scorfano! If I say yes will you stop?!" I shout at him and he quickly nods his head
"Ok then fine!" I say as I cross my arms and continue walking
"Thank you Mio caro (my dear)" he says before running into the house
"I swear that boy aggravates me yet love him even more" I say as I shake my head while smiling
"I wonder if he's protective" I say before I walk into the house
~Time Skip to 1/4 of the way through dinner~
"Hey Y/n?" I hear Giulia ask
"Yeah?" I ask before I put the fork full of pasta in my mouth
"Do you wanna have a girl only sleepover tonight?" She asks me
"Oh uh....actual—" I say before Alberto cuts me off
"Actually me and Y/n were already gonna have a sleepover tonight." Alberto says as his eyes narrow at Giulia
"Just the two of you?" She asks him
"Yup!" He says before he stuffs his face with pasta
Everybody, besides me and Alberto, look at each other with confused(? Or concerned?) faces
Mr. Massimo looks Alberto up and down and Alberto notices
"What?" He asks him as he looks at his body "is there something on me?" He asks again
"No No....there's nothing on you, I'm just..."Massimo trails off and Giulia finishes his sentence for him
"Why is it only gonna be just the two of you? What about me and Luca?" She asks Alberto
"Oh no..." Luca whimpers and scoots closer to me
"Well it isn't like you and Luca never had a sleepover where it was just the two of you while you two were at school. I'm just trying to enjoy having a friend for once since two of my best friends were gone for a whole year!" Alberto retorts
"We weren't gone for a whole year Alberto! We were gone for a few months!" Giulia says her voice raising a little
"You two were still gone! And I was left here alone with people too old for me and people too young for me!" Alberto says his voice raising too
"I don't think this is about a sleepover anymore" I whisper to Luca as we're both huddled together away from the two arguing
"It isn't" Luca whimpers
"You're the one who didn't want to go!" Giulia yells
"Because I still wanted to have fun while I was still a fucking kid! I didn't wanna learn some useless bullshit that wasn't going to help me in life!" Alberto yells
"It's not useless bullshit!!" Giulia yells
The two continue arguing about how alone Alberto was and how if he was so alone he should've just gone....that is until Giulia hit a nerve in Alberto
"Massimo wanted me to stay with him!!" Alberto yells
"He just felt bad for you that's why!!" Giulia yells before quickly covering her mouth
Me and Luca stare at her with wide eyes then turn to Alberto who has tears in his
"Alberto I—" she starts before Massimo cuts her off
"Giulia! Go to your room!" Massimo yells at her and she gently nods
I quickly stand up and walk over to Alberto, Luca following
We both hug him and he cries in our arms, I look over at Luca and see he's fighting back tears of his own as he hears his friend cry. Massimo walks over to us and hugs us as well
"Alberto, I wanted you to stay with me because I saw you as one of my own. And I knew you needed me as much as I needed you" Massimo gently says as Alberto then begins to sob
Luca then breaks down crying as well and I let go of Alberto and hug Luca, as Massimo and Alberto hug, and a silent tear rolls down Massimo's face
~After a few minutes of crying~
Massimo headed to Giulia's room to talk to her a while ago and Luca passed out of the couch, Alberto and I are sitting in the treehouse
"You know she didn't mean that stuff...right?" I softly say to Alberto as I look over at him
His eyes are pink and puffy, and his cheeks are tear stained with a few tears still slipping from his eyes once and a while
"The truth comes out when you're angry" Alberto says before looking at me and I can see the pain in his eyes
"Do you just want to drop the topic and do your favorite thing in the world?" I softly say to Alberto while giving a small smile at the end
He nods and crawls over to me before cuddling into my side, being the little spoon, as we cuddle. My fingers gently run through his hair as I rub his back (he's facing you while being the little spoon)
In a matter of a few seconds soft snores can be heard from Alberto and I gently smile
As fast as the smile came it left my face as tears started to cloud my vision as the events played in my head over and over again.
Hearing Alberto sob over and over again.....
Seeing all the pain he was feeling in his emerald eyes that usually filled with joy.....
Feeling him cling onto me as he cried.....
"I'm sorry..." I said as I choked back my own tears
"I'm so sorry I let you get hurt..." I cry to the sleeping Alberto in my arms

I'm not the best at writing down arguments so it's probably gonna look stupid to y'all, but it's fine
This chapter is just the beginning of a few sad ones because hey! What would a great story be without a few tear jerkers, am I right?
Anyway next one might be happy I don't know yet
