From behind us we heard the music door open to show us Marlon.
Marlon: Hey! Have you seen Rosie?
Louis: Nope.
Y/n: Nah, what’s happening?
Marlon: Shit. There’s a situation out there.
I nodded. He then turned to Clementine.
Marlon: Um, I hate to ask, you just coming to and all, but we could really use a hand. You up for taking out a few deadheads?
Clementine nods at him.
Marlon: Y/n?
Y/n: Of course.
Marlon: You too, Louis. Get your ass in gear.
The blonde boy ran off.
Louis sighed.
Louis: Fine.
We all made our way to the main gate. The attack group consisted of me, Clementine, Louis, Marlon and Violet. AJ and Willy stood nearby.
Marlon: Rosie! Where the hell is she?
I patted him on the shoulder.
Y/n: Hey, don’t worry. She’s probably with the other group or out hunting. You know she loves that.
Marlon nodded, taking a deep breath. He then turned to Clementine.
Marlon: You have your weapon back?
Clementine showed him her knife.
Marlon: Good. We’re gonna need you to put it to use. We’ve got a hunting party out there trying to get back inside. Need our help to clear the way. Seems to be a few more than usual these last couple days.
Violet: It’s almost like something drew their attention. Something like...I don’t know...an explosion. Or a car crash.
Y/n: Come on, Vi.
Violet: What? Just saying. There’s gotta be some explanation.
Clementine stepped forward.
Clementine: Look, I didn’t know any of that was gonna happen. Sorry if it caused you guys problems.
Louis cleared his throat.
Louis: Ahem. “Hello, Clementine. I’m Violet. Nice to meet you.”
Violet crossed her arms.
Violet: What he said.
Willy came down from the lookout ladder and stood in front of us.
Willy: Alright, boys and girls. They’re starting to fill in.
Violet: Come on.
Marlon: Be careful out there.
He took one more look at all of us before rushing out with Violet.
Louis: Don’t mind Violet. She, uh...grows on you. I promise.
Y/n: Yeah, she just takes some getting used to, ever since… Anyway, she’s okay once you get to know her.
Louis smirked and brandished his chair leg filled with nails in front of us. Clementine looked at him with one eyebrow raised.
Louis: Oh, this? It’s a chair leg. I call it “Chairles”. Y/n’s sword is called “Swade”.
Y/n: How many times do I have to tell you? We. Are not. Naming. My. Damn. Sword.
Clementine: I’m gonna have to team with Y/n here. Naming your weapon is kinda lame.
Y/n: Ha. In your face.
Louis: I am offended by your betrayal, Clementine. But fine. If you don’t like Chairles, he doesn’t like you.
The boy started walking off. I shouted after him.
Y/n: It’s not a real thing! It doesn’t have feelings!
Louis shouted back.
Louis: He is also offended by that assumption!
I sighed and smiled. Clementine looked at me with a chuckle.
Y/n: Well, see ya out there, cadet.
