After we found out that Klaus was the one that killed Katie that night, Rebekah went into a rage. She decided to create her own side in this war and teamed up with Thierry. She asked me to join her, but I quickly reminded her that I left for a reason and my return did not mean that I was willing to get in the middle of this family feud again. Instead, I had spent my energy keeping an eye on Hayley and making sure her and the baby were alright.
One day, I was with Hayley and Rebekah while Agnes was checking on the baby. "You are due for a check-up," she informed her.
Hayley started off by refusing, saying that she was okay.
Rebekah glared at the pregnant werewolf. "A lot of women would kill to have a child. It strikes me as odd that you're not taking better care of yours".
I sent her a mocking smirk. "Ooh, I can practically smell the jealousy, sister!"
She threw a pen at me, which I quickly caught.
Agnes gave us a pointed look before turning back to Hayley. "I know a doctor out in the Bayou, off the beaten path. Now, I took the liberty of making an appointment for you. Tonight, after-hours, just us".
"And I'll be there as well," I added, giving her a soft smile. I had insisted to going with her to make sure she was okay.
Hayley thought for a moment before rolling her eyes in reluctant agreement. "Okay, fine. Bayou-baby-doctor it is".
Before we could leave, my phone rang. I had to double-check to make sure I wasn't hallucinating the name that was showing up on the Caller ID.
"We'll leave as soon as I'm finished with this call," I said before stepping outside to answer the call. "Hello, Allison. I wasn't expecting to hear from you. Ever". Since her mother's death and what happened with Gerard, Allison and I hadn't spoken much. I guessed she partly blamed me for what happened to Victoria.
"What do you know about Ms. Morrell?" she asked instead of replying to my comment.
I got suspicious and decided to direct the same question back at her. "What do you know about Ms. Morrell?"
Unlike me, who evaded the question, she answered it. "I know she knows something about the supernatural. Who is she? Or better yet, WHAT is she?"
I shrugged my shoulders, feigning ignorance. "I couldn't tell you".
She let out a frustrated sigh.
I opened my mouth to speak, but she beat me to it. "Why didn't you tell me?"
I knew she was talking about Victoria. I let out a sigh as I told the truth. "Because I gave Scott my word that I wouldn't. He didn't want you to know".
"He said it was because he didn't want that to be my last memory of her".
I chuckled. "That's just like him. Ever the noble knight. Are you sure you want to give that up?"
She laughed. She turned the air serious with just two words. "I'm sorry".
"So am I". With that, we went back to being close friends.
I peeked inside the room, where Hayley was clearly losing patience. "Allison, I have to go. I have pregnant werewolf business to attend to, but I will see you when I return to Beacon Hills". I quickly hung up before she could ask.
I signalled to Agnes and Hayley and the three of us left the house.
Agnes led us to the clinic in the middle of the Bayou. The scene gave me a bad feeling.
As Hayley and I walked in, I heard Agnes grab out her phone and make a call. "Send them in now and tell them to do it quickly".
So she was planning something. The best thing to do was keep an eye out.
As Hayley was getting her ultrasound done, I got a text from Rebekah. "Where are you?"
Rather than just tell her, I quickly sent my coordinates, just in case.
Suddenly, I got another call. From Stiles, this time. I stepped outside before answering the call with a smirk. "Twice in one day. How do you people even survive without me?"
I heard a laugh. "I don't know, sometimes".
I couldn't help but laugh as well. "What is it?"
"How are you?"
I raised an eyebrow. "You called just for a check-up? How sweet of you!" However, I knew that he was just avoiding the topic. "What happened?"
He let out a sigh. "There's been another murder. It was Kyle". It was a senior at school.
My nerves shook. "Is there any reason why you tried to avoid telling me?"
"Allison said you were busy..."
"If you thought I was too busy to help you, then why did you bother calling me?" I shook my head in exasperation. This boy was the sweetest person in the world, but sometimes, he made me want to strangle him. "Was he-?"
He cut me off. "He wasn't a virgin".
"Okay, so we have the number – three," I muttered. "Try to find out the next pattern, what made him so special".
Suddenly, I saw I car arriving and slipped into the lobby. Hopefully, they didn't see me. I lowered my voice as I spoke to Stiles. "Stiles, I have to go. You were right, I am a little busy. But regardless of what's going on in my personal life, NEVER withhold that kind of information from me again. Despite me being all the way in New Orleans, I still want to help you. I care about you and I don't want to see you get hurt".
He nodded. "I won't. But (Y/N), remember what I said, if you ever need anyone to talk to..."
I chuckled, thinking back to the events of the past few days. "With the way things are going with this family of mine, I might just take you up on that". Then I hung up.
I rushed into the room and gently grabbed Hayley by the arm, grabbing her attention. "Someone's here. We have to go".
Before she could even get up, a group of intimidating-looking men walked into the clinic and whispered something to Agnes.
We turned around to see the doctor lunging at Hayley with a syringe, but I quickly snapped her neck to stop her. When the men saw what happened, they ran toward the door, but I used my magic to keep it shut. after that, I grabbed Hayley and ran.
We quickly hid from them in the woods and as they walked past us, we snuck up behind them and attacked them.
Hayley was doing pretty well. I had just killed my half when I saw a man descending upon her, but before I could do anything, Rebekah appeared and snapped his neck.
"I had him!" I exclaimed, storming up to her.
She rolled her eyes. "Sure, you did".
"How did I find us?" Hayley asked, and we both turned to her.
"I sent her our coordinates," I answered for her.
"Who are they?" Rebekah asked, looking around at all the dead bodies.
"Witches, most likely," I answered again.
Suddenly, we saw flashlights in the distance heading towards us. Before we could run, two arrows appeared out of the darkness and shot into her heart, neutralizing her.
"REBEKAH!"
Two more arrows headed towards me, but I stopped them with my magic and sent them back the way they came.
I turned around and Hayley was also on the ground.
Suddenly, a couple of arrows shot at my back and I found myself losing consciousness.
I woke up before Rebekah. I looked around and saw that Hayley was nowhere to be seen, but we were surrounded by dead bodies.
While waiting for Rebekah to wake up, I called Nik and told him what had happened before sending him our coordinates.
It wasn't long before Rebekah woke up. Her eyes widened in horror when she saw the scene around us. "What the hell?"
I shook my head. "I don't know. I woke up and they were like this, and Hayley was gone".
She looked around and noticed that the werewolf was nowhere to be seen. She grabbed out her phone, but I quickly cut her off.
"I already called him".
She froze for a moment before she nodded and put her phone away.
While waiting for Nik to arrive, we decided to go back to the clinic and search for clues.
Before long, Nik stormed in. "Who took her?"
Rebekah shook her head. "I don't know".
"What do you mean, you don't know? And who killed her attackers?"
I stepped in front of her. "As she said, we don't know! In case you forgot, we were a little preoccupied. But if it wasn't Hayley who killed them, then..."
I was cut off by wolves howling in the distance. Klaus looked at us and raised his eyebrows.
"Lovely. Maybe her cousins will know where she is," Rebekah muttered walking out.
We followed her outside, speechless. When we exited the building, we noticed Hayley stumbling towards us, her clothes tattered and dirty. She looked dazed and exhausted.
"What happened?" we asked her as we ran towards her.
"I can't remember," she replied, groggily.
Klaus anxiously examined Hayley for any wounds only to notice something strange. "You've completely healed. There's not a scratch on you".
"One of the perks of being a werewolf, remember?" she replied.
He shook his head. "No, not that fast".
Suddenly, I realized what had happened. "It's the baby. The vampire blood – Klaus' vampire blood – in your system. It can heal any wound". Klaus turned and stared at me incredulously while I stared at her with fascination. "Your own child healed you".
Klaus smiled at the thought as Rebekah turned the subject back to Hayley. "How did you escape? You were outnumbered, unarmed? Those men were ripped to shreds!"
"I think it was the wolf. I think it's trying to protect me," Hayley said, quietly.
Klaus angrily pointed at Hayley. "The witches were supposed to protect you! When I get my hands on Sophie Deveraux..."
I cut him off. "It wasn't Sophie. It was Agnes".
"Fine! Agnes, Sophie, it's all the same to me! I'll slaughter the lot of them!"
Rebekah but in. "Not if Elijah gets there first".
I turned to her with wide eyes. "Elijah? You found him?"
She nodded. "He's been in touch, and he has a plan. All he asks is that we take care of you".
Hayley smiled. "Hey, so... can we go home now? I'd really like to sleep for a few days".
Hayley stood up, and Klaus nodded with a smile. When she went to walk, her knees buckled as she stumbled and started to fall, but Klaus sped over to catch her before she hit the ground and scooped her up bridal-style in his arms. The four of us walked to Nik's car.
I couldn't help but feel relieved at the realization that we had finally found Elijah.
