Pacita covers her mouth with a white napkin and cough.
Its embarrassing but she needs to care about appearance later.
A maid hand her a glass of water that she didnt accept immediately.
After calming down,she breaths and drink the water.
The Marquise is worried at her.
The blonde man only stood behind his mother unable to give her any of his concern.
'Mother...He is a Marquis son? At most, he could be a baron or a count's son....But he is a Marquis?'
Pacita calmly collects herself.
"Im sorry,Marquise." Pacita smiles.
"Don't worry. If there is a food you dont like, you can tell me."
Pacita shakes her head with a softest smile she can muster.
The blonde guy, Paulo, finally look at Pacita.
"Duchess, its a pleasure to be in your presence."
He bows elegantly.
His blond hair moves the way he moves.
'This egoist bastard can actually act decently?'
Pacita nods as she is confused.
"It was nice to meet such a young talented man like you, Sir Dellasure."
Paulo stares at Pacita for a moment. His striking bluegreen eyes want to stare at Pacita's elegant red eyes.
But he failed. Cause Pacita never once stare at him.
'Why is he staring at me? I thought he doesnt like it when I look at him. This guys fetish.'
Pacita wants to click her tongue.
Paulo never likes the old her to stare at his eyes when they are making out in bed. No, he doesnt like anyone staring at his eyes.
So Pacita never once look at him when he is staring back at her.
Those blue green eyes are very lovely and precious, but it appears to Pacita that he is feeling insecure due to those eyes.
"What are you doing staring at the Duchess?" Marquise said with a slight anger.
Paulo lifts his eyes and look at his mother.
"I just never seen such a striking red eyes."
"How rude!" The Marquise worriedly looks at Pacita.
"He is still young, do not mind his rubbish."
Pacita smiles.
Marquise glares at his son.
"Leave us alone. Go to your father or your friends? A man is not needed while the ladies drink tea and chat."
"Y..es mother. See you again, Duchess."
Pacita nods and drinks tea.
'What was that jerk thinking?'
The Marquise is very mad.
Complimenting a woman is not a serious crime and can be socializing thing.
But not if the one involve is married.
No man will like his partner to be complimented by other men.
It will be scandalous and women reputation will plummet.
Some even be shut indoors forever till they die from embarrassment.
"My son, he is just saying thing."
The Marquise smiles worriedly.
Pacita nods. She touches her own cheek with one hand.
"They say my eyes are like a fiery ruby. I cant blame anyone to stares at this gems."
Marquise blinks and wondered if Pacita really say those words.
When a maid talks to her saying that other guests came, she looks at Pacita and realized that she is still calmly sipping tea.
A smile spread her lips.
"If Duchess need some company, you can call for this Marquise any time."
Pacita looks up.
"I will call for you, then.Only if the flowers in our garden blossoms."
Marquise gleefully chuckles.
"Okay. It's a promise." She stood up.
"I have to entertain the guests, I hope yu dont mind."
Pacita waves her hand.
"I cant keep you to myself. Have fun in your birthday, Marquise."
Marquise bows her head and left.
Pacita finally sighs in relief.
Babam.
Pacita looks up.
"You really look like a Vampire!" An energetic woman with curly brown hair slammed the table with her hands and grins at Pacita.
"I am Clarisa! Please be my friend, Vampire!"
Pacita looks at the woman from head to toe.
