i was watching out my window as movers came in and out of my house. i don't even notice chris running across my front lawn and into my now empty house
chris: what's going on?
me: being forced to move tears fill my eyes
chris: what why?
me: government orders. i'll miss you chris, you were a good neighbor
chris: hey hey he rubs my back move in with me
me: what? my eyes dart up to his
chris: yeah! come on you can't leave dodger
me: no that's crazy. i- i can't let you do that
chris: nope you're doing it
he walks outside and screams at all the movers hey everyone! stop what you're doing!! she's moving in with me! just move everything next door thank you!! see? easy peasy! he walks back in
me: oh thank you thank you thank you! i stand up and jump into his arms. he lightly laughs as he hugs me back and picks me up off my feet. chris helps move some little things into his house and the movers eventually leave. chris shows me my room.
chris: so you can stay here and my room is right across the hall.
me: chris i- i don't know what to say
chris: don't say anything. you're my friend y/n. this is what friends do
me: well why don't i cook you dinner?
chris: well lord knows i can't cook
me: perfect! what do you have? i say running down the stairs and into his kitchen
chris: absolutely nothing
i rummage through chris's cabinets and find some pancake mix
me: looks like i'm making you breakfast for dinner
chris: fine by me he smirks back at me
that stupid smirk. chris gets a call and i start making dinner, feeling lucky i even have a place to live. i overhear chris's conversation on the phone
chris: what's up dude?
?: not much, miss you bro
chris: miss you too! you remember my neighbor
?: the hot one?
chris: hey she's not just hot. she's pretty an- and kind. well she's livin with me now
i blush at the sound of the words. no way chris evans thought that about me. no fucking way.
?: huh? you already got that chick to move in with you
chris: well she was renting the place next door and got evicted for like no reason. i offered her a place to stay and she took it
?: ahhh so she's mooching off you
chris: no no, she didn't want to accept
?: but she did...man you got a girl next door!
chris: this isn't a movie mackie
mackie. he was on the phone with anthony mackie? oh my god.
anthony: sure sounds like it!
chris: shut up. you wanna meet her?
anthony: hell yeah!
chris: alright come over tomorrow then. i can see if seb can come
anthony: alright then. buh-bye evans
chris: bye mackie
he hangs up the phone and walks back out who was that? i ask innocently
chris: oh just one of my friends
me: famous friend?
chris: anthony mackie, he's coming over tomorrow. seeing if seb can come as well
me: woah like seb as in sebastian stan?
chris: that's the one
me: holy shit! sometimes i forget my neighbor is famous
chris: now your roommate
we both laugh and i finish up cooking. we sit at his barstools around his granite counter and talk about everything and nothing.
chris: oh you're just a fantastic cook
me: well thank you my phone rings oh it's my brother facetiming me i answer it
me: hey alex!
alex: hey! i miss you
me: oh alex i miss you too. how you been? are you still at the office?
alex: day and night. it's grueling. what time is it over there?
me: oh i'm sorry. it's like 7 here
alex: you eating?
my face turns red. i dealt with an eating disorder back home. it was bad. yeah i am. breakfast for dinner i show him my plate
alex: good. i'm proud of you
me: thanks alex i look down how's natalie?
alex: she- she's perfect. hey you wanna see something?
me: sure
natalie was alex's girlfriend. high school sweethearts. i loved her she was the sister i never got. he whips out a little black velvet box and pops it open to reveal a beautiful diamond ring.
me: oh my gosh your proposing?!
alex: tomorrow night
me: finally!! she has been waiting for this since you guys graduated high school
alex: i know. how was your day?
me: oh god where do i begin? well...i spent the whole day in meetings for that new movie, i fucking met matthew gray gubler, and okay don't freak out when i tell you this
alex: spit it out!!
me: well i wanted to tell you but i thought you'd tell dad. i got evicted a couple days ago
alex: y/n what??
me: government orders. but it's okay! okay i also didn't tell you this...my neighbor is kinda chris evans
alex: WHAT?
me: yeah! he was kind enough to let me stay with him and i know your a marvel fan-
alex: y/n that's literally insane?
me: you wanna meet him?
alex: uh hell yeah!!
i laugh and hand my phone over to chris. i know my brother is freaking out on the inside, being a "marvel fan" is an understatement. he talks to him for a little and chris hands the phone back to me
alex: now no funny business between you two. if i find out you had two have se-
me: alex!!
alex: alright alright!! well i just wanted to check in. love you kid
me: i'm only 3 years younger than you
alex: yeah i practically raised you
me: *lightly laughs* love you too
i smile at the phone and hang up. i look over to my right at chris and see him already looking at me. i thank him once more for letting me stay there. his big muscles wrap around my back and his hand grazes my waist. his cool hands against my soft, hot skin. we come out of the hug and my hands are still wrapped around his neck. our eyes staring into each other's, his pretty blue eyes. my hands come around his neck and to his shoulders. i drag my hands down his chest, smirk, and walk off. i hear him lightly chuckle.
i take a quick shower and change into some of my pjs. some short shorts and a big oversized tshirt. i cuddle up under my covers and decide to sign into my netflix on the smart tv in my room. i browse through netflix and decide to start rewatching my favorite show for the 700th time, greys anatomy.
meredith grey: the game. they say either a person has what it takes to play, or they don't. my mother was one of the greats. me, on the other hand...i'm kinda screwed.
chris comes into my room to check in on me.
chris: hey just wanted to see if you were all good...is this greys anatomy?
me: yep. come on sit with me i pat the bed
chris groans and rolls his head. i giggle as he sits next to me on the bed. he kicks his feet up on the bed and crosses his legs. we continue to watch the first episode and i know he is enjoying it
chris: oh shit that's the dude from this morning!!
me: yes it is
chris: this is going to get mes-say! he shakes his shoulders.
me: oh you are so enjoying this
chris: am not!
me: am too! you got popcorn?
chris: there should be a bag in the pantry. i'll go grab it
me: nope you enjoy your new favorite show i'll go get it i hit his chest
i run out the room and i hear chris go oh-! i rummage through his pantry and find the popcorn. i open the bag and bring it back upstairs. i see chris fully engaged with the tv. i laugh and jump onto the bed. chris laid on top of the duvet as i crawled under. we laughed and enjoy the show until i eventually close my eyes and drift off to sleep.
