Chapter 32 *Additional* : Promises And Pizza

This is an additional chapter before "Chapter 33: This Cheerleader Has Secrets (Part Two)".  That chapter will be after this one so enjoy.

"Okay, so I have to tell you something. But you have to promise not to get mad."

"That depends. What is it?"

"You have to promise."

"I'm not going to promise to not get mad at something if I don't know what it is."

"Cerise, why you gotta be so difficult?" Kelly whined as she tugged on my sweater sleeve childishly.

"Fine, just tell me." I groaned watching as her eyes lit up with excitement.

"Okay," She began clearing her throat as if she had a message from the president that could probably end humanity once and for all " I promised Aven that we'd go to Luke's party tomorrow night."

"You what!" I exclaimed, shooting up from the couch I was on.

"He was looking at me with those mesmorizing blue eyes of his and expectantly waiting on me to say something. How rude would I had been if I just said no?" She asked me, letting out a sigh.

I take a deep breath with folded arms and drop back onto the soft couch.

Aven did really like Kelly, but like always she never gave him the time of day. I was surprised to how she said yes, but out of all the places he just had to choose Luke's party. Aside from that, why did Aven know so many people from our school?

I knew inside that Luke's house would be infested with horny teenagers that hated just the sight of me. Who am I kidding? If they wanted to kill me that would be the perfect place to commit the crime.

"Very." I said, answering her question. "Besides, isn't that stupid cheer leading sleepover thing tomorrow?"

"Yeah, but the girls are all going to the party first and then all of us get dropped at Allison's house." Kelly informs me since she's memorized every single thing.

I groan while rubbing my temples. "My head can only take so many functions."

"This is going to be your first party." Kelly says in a sing song way

I scoff "With a house full of people who hates me."

"Actually Vince, Aven and I will be there so it won't be completely a house full of people who hate you." She says as if that'll make me feel better.

I pick up the remote off of the coffee table beside the couch that we're sitting on and flick through the channels of Kelly's television. Seconds go by and I notice it's really quiet. Glancing back at Kelly, I realize her mouth is fully opened in shock and she isn't even blinking.

"What?" I ask her, watching as she swallows.

"Aven and Vince are both going to be at the party."

I sit there, confused for a second.

Man, why am I so slow these days?

Another second goes by and the thinking wires of my brain eventually fasten together and my expression is selfsame to Kelly's.

"You're going to have to pick one of them some day, Kelly." I said and she winces at my sentence as if something just cut her deep.

"They're both really great guys." She starts and I frown. They both really are great guys who surprisingly doesn't know about each other which I find strange since Aven knows a lot of people from our school.

"And they both deserve a really great answer." I point out and she nods.

"I'll make my decision a little later though. I just need to catch up on some sleep."

"But it's only four thirty." I whined and she laughed since she's usually the one whining about the time."What am I going to do?"

She starts making her way up the stairs and turns back to answer me "Go call Carter. See if he's free."

I shoot a glare at her back as she continues to walk. I can sense her smirking and within a few seconds she vanishes up the stairs.

I let out a groan and sprawl myself out on the couch, staring up at the ceiling.

The Willis has really pretty ceilings

Weird, I never noticed that

After several more minutes of studying their ceiling I come to a conclusion that my life is really really sad. I'm staring at the ceiling of my best friend's living room on a Friday afternoon.

Those words from Kelly then come and haunt me "Go call Carter. See if he's free." I shake my head like a wet dog, trying to ignore the thought. Carter has a girlfriend and what happened at the bakery was simply business. Despite the compliments.

I pick up the house phone, resisting the urge to call Carter who for some anonymous reason's number is in this phone and call a pizzeria place named Pizza Realms instead.

If Kelly's going to go sleep and leave me down here I'll just order some pizza and save her cero slices. Cero means zero :)

After ordering a thin crust pizza with pepperoni I slump back onto the couch and stare at the television screen keeping my eyes locked on an oh so interesting  'Swiffer Wet Jet' commercial that had just come on when suddenly the door bell rang jolting me out of my position once again.

I push the strands of my hair behind my ears to keep the temples of my glasses company. I unlock the door and open it to see the pizza delivery guy before me.

He has light brown hair that falls perfectly in front of his face and ocean blue eyes that compliment his red and blue uniform with a cap. Aside from his gorgeous features he has a huge plush pizza that sits on the cap. It's so huge I'm still not sure how he managed to make it from his car to the door without tumbling over while walking. Someone needed to talk to the manager about that.

But the guy before me holding my box of pizza just so happens to go to our rivaling school. I've seen him around the city with Gage and Zeke who hangs out with Byron. I think they're related. I know for a fact that he plays soccer though.

Before the guy can mount words I abruptly say "Why do you have a huge plush pizza on your head?" It sounded even more rude than I thought it did in my head.

"Why do you look like a 1930's grandmother threw up on you?" He retorts, jutting the pizza out for me to take.

I slightly pat my sweater and mentally whisper ''he didn't mean that, sweaterHe' s just jealous." before reaching out to snatch the box out of his hand, but he quickly moves it.

"Pay up." He says, his mouth quirks upward in a dishy smirk and his low chuckles echo in my ear

With a roll of my eyes I close the door in his face. Trust me, I never turn down pizza so don't assume that I ordered just to not get it.

I knelt down to the small pink rug beside the couch and reached under it, grabbing a hold of the soft material that I had been searching for.

Kelly's emergency money purse

This was an emergency. Pizza is really important. Seriously, where would mankind be without it?

After I pull out a ten dollar bill I zip it up and push it back under the rug. I open the door once again to see the guy with a confused expression on his face.

"Here." I hand him the money and he takes it.

"You're weirder than I thought." He says, handing me the box of pizza.

"Says the guy with a huge pizza on his head." I mutter and he hears it anyway.

"The names Jace. Not guy, sweater girl." He corrects, pushing the money in his right pocket.

"Well since we're on a first name basis." I say unenthusiastically , "Cerise."

"Because I was so eager to know your name." He says sarcastically with a laugh. "Well thanks for choosing Pizza Realms. May I never be your delivery guy again."

"At least we have the same wish!" I shout out as he makes his way to the company car that's parked along side the sidewalk.

Jerk

Just what I need. Another jerk to add to the jerk collection. I already have Byron and Carter. Gosh, the world is so unfair to me.

I sank into the chair, opening the box of heaven in my lap.The aroma of  crisp baked bread with warm melting mozzarella cheese and sweet rich ripe tomato sauce fills the living room. And right on cue Kelly appeared on the stairs.

"Okay, so who's the hot pizza guy?" She asks, hopping over the couch and sitting next to me.

"He's a douchebag whose name shall not be said in this house." I say, swatting her hands away from the box of pizza.

"Uh, my house." Kelly says in a duh tone, getting a slice anyway.

"His name is Jace and he's exactly like Carter and Byron. Handsome, conceited and think the world revolves around them."

I know I'm being quick to judge now, but it seemed like he couldn't be any better from that little conversation.

"Isn't that something like conceited ?" Kelly asks me and I shrug it off.

"Let me have my moment."

"He goes to our school right?"

"Nope. " I answer, lifting up a slice.

She nods, taking a bite of her pizza. "After this," She uses her finger to cirlce around the box "Is all done, we're going shopping."

The pizza in my hand drops onto the box

"Shopping?"
