Varian and Cass both looked at each other. Cass gave him a worried look, Varian nodded at her also looking a bit worried. Both of them smiled at each other and knew the other was thinking exactly what they were thinking.

Varian stepped up towards the bars and said, "Well, let's go."

"WHAT!!!" Cass shouted looking confused. "That's not what I was thinking!!!"

"Come on Cassie, it'll be fun." He said as the other guy unlocked the door. Cassandra looked at Varian's smile and just couldn't say no.

"F-Fine!!!" Cass said walking up to Varian. Cassandra and Varian both looked at the handcuffs the other guy was holding. Varian looked at Cassandra. Varian gave her a smile. "Fine, just put them on." The guy grabbed Varian's hand and Cassandra's hand and handcuffed them together.

Varian and Cassandra were walking through this long hallway with the one guard showing them the way. Cassandra looked at Varian as he was looking everywhere, he was completely lost in thought. Cassandra didn't want to stop whatever it is he needs to go through, but she hated seeing him like this. She couldn't imagine what he was thinking.

Cassandra and Varian were already standing close together because of the chain, but she came closer and cuddled up and his arm as they were walking, and with her hand that was handcuffed to him, he slowly wrapped it around his. Their hands met and his hands were so soft, she had never really felt them before, they were always gloved, but something about it just felt right.

Varian was taken away from his thoughts as he looked at Cassandra. How to tell her what had happened. It was a lot to think about. He had two things on his mind, but she could stop everything when he looked at her smiling. Her eyes made his heart melt. He slowly wrapped his hand around hers as he smiled down at her. Also feeling her arms wrapped around his was different, he had never felt this before, she had only ever grabbed at him, she had never just held him before, something about it just felt right.

Both Varian and Cassandra were brought to this big door, the door opened into this cafeteria. They went inside, and inside were a bunch of prisoners everywhere. All wearing baggy orange clothes. Varian looked around with a giant smile on his face. Cass looked at him and she was surprised to see him happy about this. He saw a small area with an old lady at this counter. Varian saw her and he ran over there dragging Cassandra with him by the handcuffs. "Oh my gosh!!! MATILDA!!!! Do you have food!?!" He asked the girl at the counter. She stepped up and she didn't look happy at all.

"Not yet, you can say if you want food or not you can say and it will be delivered to your cell, and you can't complain about what you get, or else you will be the one served for dinner." The lady at the counter said. Cassandra was entirely creeped out by this. She became a little freaked out as she stepped closer to Varian.

"Oh, Matilda, this is my friend Cassandra!" Varian said as he gestured to Cass.

"I still don't care about Cassandra no matter how many times you tell me about her," Matilda said.

Varian laughed, "Oh, even after 4 years that never gets old." Varian said as he looked at Cassandra,

"Varian?" Cass said looking worried. Varian saw she was nervous. "This is great and all, but I'm a little worried we could get hurt out here, and you are in no condition to fight or really do much, so maybe we could head back?" She said looking at him with wide eyes.

"Of course, Cass, but first- Matilda may we get a meal for our cell?" Varian asked while looking towards the grumpy women. She nodded and Varian smiled.

Once Varian and Cassandra made it back in their cells, they were still handcuffed and both Varian and Cassandra were silent for a bit until Cassandra broke the silence. "So... who's Matilda? And why did it sound like she knew who I was?"

"Matilda? Oh, she's the lunch lady down here. She hates everyone, but she was great at listening, so whenever I was here for a year, I would tell about the things I wanted to do when I get out."

"That's fun, but once again, how did she know me?"

"Well... I.... I had a few plans in the future, and I was hoping some of them would involve you." Varian said starring into Cassandra's eyes. Varian and Cassandra started to blush, as they looked at one another.

Then they heard a bang on the door to their cell. Varian looked over and a guard slid under the bars a plate of food. Cassandra looked happy until she saw the food. There was one slice of half-eaten bread. And two glasses of water.

Cassandra was completely grossed out, but Varian dragged her over as he sat down next to the food with a smile on his face.

Cass looked at him, "Why are you so excited about this?" Cass asked him. "It looks disgusting."

"I thought the same thing for the first month, after a while I got used to it," Varian said as he took off one-third of the bread. Cassandra was watching him quietly as he seemed excited about food.

"You know, if you really wanted food, you could've asked," Cass said sitting down next to him.

"That's not it... It's... Look, this place isn't great, I know that, but for me, it's like a second home. I had lived here for an entire year." Varian said as he looked at Cass.

"Well, if it was a second home, why didn't you want to come back?" Cass asked curiously.

"Well, I mean look around Cassie. This place isn't all sunshine and rainbows... And I most certainly wasn't when I was here... I was a monster, and a.... a villain-

"YOU WERE NOT A VILLIAN!!!! YOU WERE JUST MISUNDERSTOOD, AND THEREFORE YOU MADE SOME BAD DECISIONS!!!! AND BEING SENT HERE NEVER HELPED!!!!" Cass snapped. Varian looked at her as she stood up in anger. She took a deep breath as she stood there.

Varian stood up next to her and they both went and sat on the bed together. "The thing is...If you were a villain then I was worse... And... I don't want to be the villain...." Varian leaned over and gave her a hug. While he was hugging her, she felt better she slowly wrapped her arms around him, she made sure she didn't touch his cut.

Varian could tell she was being gentle with his wound, but this isn't the Cass he remembered. Something was different about her, no in a bad way at all... maybe this was a good thing. Varian could tell that Cass was acting a little different around him than she used to. It was like... she saw him differently, is what Varian thought, but how did she see him? That was the question he wanted to be answered.

While they were still hugging Varian whispered in her ear. "I won't lie to you, you were kind of a villain, but you want to know the best part about being a villain?" Varian said as he broke the hug.

Varian put his hand on Cassandra's cheek. "It takes, a strong, powerful, loving, and AMAZING person to overcome it."

Cassandra smiled, then she let out a little laugh as she said, "Are you referring to yourself?" She said making Varian uncomfortable, as he paused and looked at her.

"No!! I meant you, because your kind brave, sweet, and incredible, and-" Cass gave him another hug.

"Thank you for always being there. I don't know what I would've done without you." She said hugging him tightly. Varian picked up the food that was just in his reach, and he handed Cass two-thirds of the bread.

"Wait? Why am I having more than you?" Cass asked.

"Well, when I was down here, I had to share the food with ten guys... I hated it, but now I get about 3 times as much as I got then, and I think it will take you some time to get used to, but I will gladly eat this amount." Varian said as he started eating the bread. Cass started eating her bread as well.

After about 20 minutes of them both being awkward while eating, Varian ended up sitting on the floor right next to the bed, and Cass was laying down on the bed, with her arm laying off the bed, so it was not being pulled by the handcuffs.

Cass was looking at the ceiling and Varian was looking at the dirt when Cass broke the silence. "So, have any ideas on what to do to pass the time?" Cass asked.

"I could braid your hair!!!" Varian said excitedly. Then Cass gave him a confused glare. "No? Ok." He said as he turned back around to look at the dirt again.

After about ten minutes of sitting there. Varian was just thinking about everything. What it was like when he was there versus how it is now. Now Cass it here. Something is kinda pulling his hair, how he is handcuffed to Cass, -wait what's pulling his hair.

Varian left his thoughts as he noticed his hand was resting on his shoulder, and Cass was playing with his hair.

"Cass? What are you doing?" He asked.

"Oh shush, I'm almost done." She said as she continued playing with his hair, after another three minutes Cass sat up and said, "Done!"

Varian put his free hand on his hair, everything felt normal until he touched his teal stripe. His teal stripe in his hair was now braided. "You know when I said braid your hair, I meant YOURS. Not mine! My hair isn't supposed to be-" Cass leaned down and moved some of his hair and kissed his forehead. Varian started blushing, "It's great, I love it."

They were in the jail cell together for hours, sitting there... But that does mean there were a lot of cute moments. So, I was wondering if you might want to see an extra book, that is of Varian and Cassandra's cute moments from when they were in here. Put a comment right here if you would want to see that.

After a couple of hours, Cass began to yawn as the window became darkened from outside. Varian saw Cassandra yawn and he gave her a small smile. "Someone's getting tired."

"Who me? No, I'm just getting a little.... *yawn*" Cass said, while sounded really sleepy. Varian gave her a smile, for he couldn't help but think this was just cute. Varian came and sat on the bed as well, he started letting himself get lost in his thoughts again, his thoughts were interrupted when Cassandra cuddled up next to him, resting her head on his shoulder.

Varian looked at her with a small smile. After a little while, Cass was asleep on Varian's arm, but Varian couldn't sleep at all. He looked at Cassandra and let out a small sigh.

Varian went into his pocket, and he pulled out the Cassandrium neckless. The only thing was it was broken. The string had ripped, and the beads were in his hands... Along with the piece of Cassandrium was broken in half. Varian looked at the neckless then looked at Cassandra. How was he supposed to tell her he was the one who broke it.
