I fold my hands
bow my head
so that the heavens
could hear me
I fold my hands
hung my heart
in sleeves just so
people will see me
but in my journey
i open my hands
to relieve myself
off the burden
of being seen
I hung my head
in reverence to those
who made it into heaven
before me
Even then
I know a truth
—I am without worth
without sense
without clarity
without a future
So I fold my hands
tuck my head
against heaven's punishment
I deserve it
for thinking
I am with worth
I am with sense
I am with clarity
I am with a future
because I don't
