Chapter 5 - Monsters And Men
My scared scream rang through the house. I jumped backwards out of fear, but as I tripped on my own feet, sending me crashing down onto my butt.
'Ow' I mouthed through the pain that came with faling on my butt and began rubbing it, to try to soothe the pain. ' My tailbone is gonna be bruised...' I thought to my self.
Your fault for being scared of your own reflection...stupid Reign said in an annoyed tone.
' Not call me stupid! I was scared!' I argued back. ' Wait... Own reflection?'
I slowly pulled myself off the ground, Shocked and confused by Reign's words.
I peered into the bathroom, Checking to see if there was any monster and then I looked behind me, Just in case the thing was trying to sneak attack me from behind.
Then I took a few steps in and gazed into the mirror that hung above the bathroom sink. I saw the monster again, I had to cover my mouth with my hand to keep another scream from exiting my mouth.
I looked closer at the monster then after a few seconds of examination I realized that it was me, Reign was right!
Suddenly a large crashing sound echoed off the walls of the house and I turned around just in time to see the door to the bedroom hit the wall opposite of it with a loud crash and fall to the floor.
' What the fuck is going on?! Who did that?!" I thought to myself, shocked.
I quickly grabbed the hande of the bathroom door and shut it behind me then locked it too. I took a few steps back away from the door, Scared that something my blow this one off it's hinges too.
' Wait... I probably shouldn't be standing here then...' I realized.
No shit sherlock. My wolf said in a 'duh' tone with anger lanced in her tone.
Someone started to bang on the door now, Really hard too with way too much force for this mere wooden door. The banging paused and the most amazing voice I have ever heard in my entire life was heard from behind the door. I was so tempted to open that door right then and there to tackle the body that the voice belonged to, but then I remembered my current monturous appearance.
" Hey! Are you okay?! Are you hurt?! Why did you scream?! Open the door!" The words were all rushed out and coated with worry, anger too. This was my mates voice, It was so sweet an caring...I want to know more about him.
I walked towards the door, Preparing myself to open the door, but then I stopped myself. I shook my head frantically, releasing myself from my trance. Instead of opening the door and letting my mate in I decided to just answer his questions, I need to make myself looked presentable atleast.
" Um... Yeah! I'm fine, I was just... Startled! Can you get me some fresh clothes?..Um, And underwear please?" I said unsure of what I was saying, and a little embarassed by the last part.
I heard him sigh from behind the door, In defeat? Regrett? Satisfaction? Relief? I couldn't tell exactly what it was, maybe a combinatio of them all. " Yeah, I'll get you some. Are you sure you're okay, Babe?"
My heart fluttered at his words, 'Babe?' I wish I could kiss him right now, He is so sweet and caring. I bit my lip slightly, " Y-yeah, I'm fine. You just go get back to your work."
He lingered there, behind the bathroom door, for a while before he left to get me clothes or continue work, I dn't know which.
I sighed in relief when he finally did leave, It's not like I didn't want him around it was more like I didn't want to hold him back if he actually had something really important to do.
I turned around, away from the door, to face the mirror that was hanging on the wall above the bathroom sink. I was covered in dirt and mud from running through the forest, My dirty blonde/brown hair was all tangled with a few leaves or other natury things stuck, The light amount of eyeliner that I had put around my green eyes this morning was smudged. I was a total wrech.
I turned my attention towards the very large shower that was in the bathroom and turned on the water, heat up really high, I like it when it's really hot. I unwrapped the blanket that I had wrapped around myself and tossed it into the laundry basket that was next to the door.
I felt the water, making sure it was the correct temperature, before hopping in the shower. I was in there for a while; I washed my hair with shampoo and conditioner, scrubbed my body from all the dirt that covered it, and shaved. I was unknowing humming the lyrics to one of my favorite songs, All time Low's - If these sheets were the states, the entire time.
Knocking was heard at the bathroom door that was accompanied by my mates voice soon after, " Hey, Um, Babe? You've been in there for an hour, I have some clothes for you, when will you be out?" There was a slight pleading in his voice as he asked, I felt bad for leaving him alone for so long. Stupid me!
" I'll be out in ten!" I shouted over the running water. " Will you leave the clothes outside the bathroom door please?" I turned the water off, I wasted so much water, I am supposed to be pro nature damn it!
I heard the soft noise of paper and plastic bags hitting the floor as he placed them down. " Sure..." He trailed off.
I stepped out of the shower onto the mat the was placed outside of the shower so that people wouldn't slip when they were stepping out. I grabbed one of the towels that were hanging on the towel rack and wrapped it around myself so that I could cover myself up and partially dry myself off.
I reached for the bathroom door handle, unlocking it and cracking it open to make sure my mate was gone.
When I peared outside the door her was laying down on the bed with his hands behind his head and his eyes closed. He looked so peaceful and relaxed there with his dark brown hair and beautifully toned skin. It made me wonder what color his eyes were, I almost even walked out of the door and opened his eye to so for myself, but I stopped myself when I remembered that I was only wearing a towel.
I cracked open the door a little more so that I could retrieve the bags he'd left for me.
After retrieving them into the safety of the bathroom I quickly shut the door, and locked it too. I placed the two bags he'd brought me on top of the toilet seat, so I could examine them. One bag was a Victoria's Secrets' bag and the other one was just a plain bag with no logo of any sort on it.
I reached into the logo-less bag and took out the contents of it. There were two outfits, One was a white t-shirt with the band name 'Relient K' written on it, It was the same logo as their 'MMHMM' Album, It was paired with some khaki shorts that were just the right size. The second outfit had very detailed drawing of a wolf on a white long sleeve shirt, The bottoms that went with it was a pair of black ripped jeans.
After about five minutes of going back and forth I decided on mixing the two outfits together and paired the Relient K shirt with the black ripped jeans. I put the outfit on after I put on the underwear that was inside the Victoria's Secrets' bag.
I looked at myself in the mirror and decided that my now clean look was presentable, So I faced the bathroom door, Took the handle in hand and unlocked the door, Then stepped out after opening it.
I stood in the doorway of the bathroom for a few minutes as I stared at my mate who was still in the same position he was in the last time I saw him and who didn't notice me standing in the doorway of the bathroom.
I took one silent step towards him, He didn't move, So I took another step towards him, He didn't notice me again, I repeated this process until I reached the bed.
I was standing over him now, with a evil grin plastered on my face might I add. You see, Over the time it took me to get here I had thought of a devious plan, not so devious really, to wake him up.With one swift movement I reached for the pillow that was beneath his head, Grasped it between my fingers, and pulled it out from under him.
The pillow came out so easily out from under his head, With the absence of the pillow he was imediantly woken up, but not without a annoyed growl that sent me taking a step back that was more of a hop than a step.
He looked frantically from side to side, with an angered look on his face, in search of the pillow thief, but all he saw was me with an innocent smile on my face and the missing pillow not very well hidden behind my back.
The look of anger that had taken hold of his gorgeous features was gone now and replaced with one of happiness, Directed towards me that is. He had jumped up from the place he was on the bed and was now standing in front of me with his arms crossed over his chest.
He was wearing a black v-neck t-shirt that aloud his muscles just the right amount of movement that made he look absolutely delicious and a pair of khaki colored jeans.
" How are you? Are you feeling well? How was your shower? Do you like the clothes?" He rushed out.
I was completly shocked and it was shown clearly on my face, I didn't think anyone could every speak that fast in my entire life, nor did I think that his eyes could be so green, like a forest of the deepest greens on the planet.
It didn't take me long to compose myself, but it felt like it, and a smile that I couldn't help but show was taking hold of my face. " Good. Yes. Nice. Yes." I replied to his questions in order.
He opened his mouth to say something else, but I shut him up by coming up with my own question. " I'm El Queens, A rogue and your mate. You are?"
He smiled at my introduction before replying. " I'm Mathew King, The Alpha of the Blood Moon Pack and your mate. But you know, You forgot something about yourself."
Reign was yipping with happiness, She was happy to know that our mate was of such a high rank and that he was also probably very strong too.
Once again, I was in complete shock. Yes, I expected him to be of high ranking, but an Alpha is like seriously at the top. What I was really shocked about was that he was the Alpha of the Blood Moon Pack, The most powerful and feared of all the packs and the pack that all rogues fear.
The clearing of a throat brought me out of my thoughts, I looked back to Mathew who had made the noise. I suddenly remembered the statement he had made, I pushed away all my other thoughts and let a sly smile take over.
" And what would that be?" I questioned him, Wondering what he could possibly know about me that I forgot.
" That your no longer a rogue, but the Luna of the Blood Moon Pack."
