Sierra's pov
The day after her date
" Bye and have fun! You will love New Jersey" I reassured Kiara and pulled her into a hug. After Aaron's unexpected announcement that he wanted to take Kiara back to New Jersey for a few days they immediately went to packing. Thirty minutes later they were standing by the door with two suitcases ready to head off.
"Thanks I'll see you all later" she chirped and then she pulled away from the hug. She wore the croosbody bag around her and walked over to Aaron's black sleek car. She opened the car door and got into the passenger seat. Aaron was putting the last of their luggage in the trunk and walked back to us.
"See you man" Justin and Josh said.
I cleared my throat from behind him so he could turn around and face me. I cranned my neck up towards him so I could see him better."I'll uh- I'll see you later then" I stiffly said and gave him an awkward smile.
"Yeah I'll see you later" He replied. I meantally slammed my head against the concrete wall. Why did we have to be so awkward with each other? He walked out the door and joined Olivia in his car. We waved them goodbye as they sped off and then closed the door.
I walked back into my room and after spending three hours of watching people fly off rollercoasters to their death I finally decided to get ready. I never truly understood what I found so fascinating about watching such horrific videos especally since I'm a big fan of rollercoasters. I got dressed in a cropped, Jersey, green v neck sweater and blue denim jeans since it was little colder today than usual.
"I'm so bored. I think I could die" Mia sighed and fell on top of Justin playing dead.
"A true loves kiss will save her" Justin played along and then beant down over her, capturing her lips with his.
"The only person who will die here is me! From how annoying and cringy you two are" I gagged. When Justin flipped me his finger I grabbed a dirty sock from the floor and threw it at the pair. I then ran over to Veronica to hide behind her.
"I swear to God Sierra, if you don't get a boyfriend by the end of summer I will set you up with Lucas. Stop being a debbie downer" Justin yelled. I grimaced at the thought. Lucas was Justin's older cousin. I met him once and will never again. He's the epitome of a narcisst. It got to a point where he was just listing off his achievements to himself, completely forgetting that I was in the room. I enjoy annoying the couples in this apartment simply beacause I have nothing else better to do with my life.
"What about a last minute trip to the cinema?" Veronica suggested.
"I'm in" I shrugged. I really just wanted to leave the house. "Someone check whats showing at the moment"
"The only other movie is Black widow and its on in twenty minutes" Josh confirmed looking down at his phone. We all agreed that we would just watch Black widow. We quickly grabbed our shoes and headed out the door. Luckily the cinema was only a fifteen minute walk. That was one of the perks of living in the city. I was mentally thanked myself that I wore a sweater when I felt a breeze brush against my skin. After fifteen minutes we arrived at the cineama.
"Five tickets for Black Widow please" Josh asked the the ticket person.
"Sorry but the only movie left is Padington Bear 2" The lady said. We all slowly turned our heads to meet Josh's gaze with harsh glares.
"Shit I must have been looking at the wrong day" He nervosuly laughed which earned a slap to the head by Veronica. "Jeez ok I'm sorry" he apologised and rubbed the back of his head.
"Guess we arent watching a movie tonight then" Mia muttered under her breath. They all begin to walk away towards the entrance door when I turned back to the ticket person.
"Can I have five tickets for Padington Bear please?" I asked as I pulled out two twenty dollar bills from my purse.
"We are not watching Padington Bear" Justin blatantly said. I completely ignored him and paid for the tickets.
"Come on" I prompted. They all just stared at me. "I already paid so I'm not taking no for an answer" and began walking away. I heard them curse and trudge behind me.

I should have listened to Justin when he said 'We are not watching padington'. I really should have listened. The only other people in the theatre were young teenagers. I slumped further in my seat. A clip of Padington falling over on his face in a puddle of mud played and had the whole theatre laughing, including myslef. "That was so fu-" I looked over at the others only to find Josh and Veronica making out and Mia on top of Justin. "Are you fucking kidding me?" I hissed in annoyance. "You're acting as if there aren't security cameras in here"
Veronica pulled away from Josh. Her lips were red and swollen. "You forced us in here. Be lucky that we haven't left yet" and then she turned back to Josh. I rolled my eyes at her and turned back to large screen. I pulled my knees up and wrapped my arms around them. As I watched the movie my mind couldn't help but drift to Aaron. He's defintely in New Jersey by now. I pulled out my phone and opened his contact in messages. When we broke I had deleted all contact with him but now that we are friends we exchanged numbers again. My fingers hoovered over the keyboard. Should I even be texting him? I shook my head and began typing.
me: How's New Jersey?
I immediately dropped my phone into my lap screen down. I felt like a highschooler all over again. After five minutes I was growing impatient. I then realised that maybe I shouldn't have texted him. He's probably laughing at the text with Kiara right nowI thought about deleting it but that would be embarrising. I then finally felt my phone vibrate. I immediately picked it up.
Aaron: It's frezzing over here but It's good. What are you doing?
It made me happy that he actually wanted to talk. I waited a few minutes before typing
me: We went out to see a movie and now we are watching Padington. Don't ask how. What about you? What are you doing?
He replied almost instantly
Aaron: well Olivia is asleep right now so I'm just chilling
Me: Are you staying at a hotel?
Aaron: Fuck no. We are at my mom's for the next two days
Me: Tell her I said hi
He saw my message but didn't reply. I sighed and placed my phone down in my lap again. My phone then vibrated. I picked it up and saw Aaron had sent me a video. I pursed my lips. I couldn't watch it in the movie theatre. I then remembered I had left my airpods in Veronica's jean jacket pocket. I looked over to Veronica and Josh and sure enough they were still making out.
"Don't kill me" I muttered to myslef. I reached over and slipped my hand between Josh and Veronica to grab the earphones but failed miserably.
"What now?" Veronica asked.
"Airpods?" I whispered innocently. She groaned and stuffed her hand in her pocket and pulled it out with my airpods in it. "Thanks" I slipped the airpods into my ear and began playing the video. It was a funny edit of Toy Story. I couldn't help but laugh at the video.
Three teenage girls who looked no older than thirteen turned around with a scowl on their faces. "Shut up old lady! Nothing funny happened" the one with short brown hair spat and then turned back around. The other two followed suit. My mouth hung open in shock.
I leaned forward in my seat until I was close enough to the three girls. "For your information I'm not old. I'm twenty one" the girl with short brown hair stuck her middle finger up at me. I held in my anger and leaned back in my seat.
me: A girl just called me old
Aaron: I didn't want to be the one to tell you but you do have a couple of wrinkles...
My eyes widened in horror and my hand flew to my face as I felt around for any signs of early ageing. He quickly sent another message.
Aaron: I'm joking. Let me guess you wanted to cry?
me: no
Even through text messages you could hear the lie
Aaron: Don't worry, You're to pretty to be looking old
My heart skipped a beat for a second. He still thinks I'm pretty? For some reason it felt weird that he would say that. Is he even allowed to say that? He already has a girlfriend, but then I thought back to how Josh and Justin call me pretty sometimes. It never felt weird with them but with Aaron it felt different .
me: Thank you Aaron.
This was the first time in a long time that someone has called me pretty and happened to make me blush.
