The only good thing about the situation was that Aliza was not injured in any way.

Almost six hours had passed but Aliza was still in a deep slumber. They had found her in the middle of the woods, three hours away from New Orleans. Along with Lucien who was holding her in his arms, both were covered in blood.

The bodies of Tristan and all the other vampires scattered around with their hearts ripped out along with eight other humans.

Klaus had slaughtered many people but the thought of Aliza witnessing all this sent shivers down his spine.

He took a deep breath, leaning against the doorway as he watched Mithila press her lips against the back of Aliza's hand, holding it close to her chest.

Mithila had gained herself pretty quickly for the sake of Aliza after coming across Rome's dead body, his heart just lying near his legs.

Her eyes were bloodshot, unshed tears glistening in them. It was clear just how much pain Mithila was in, knowing that the love of her life died so tragically. Yet she was holding her tears back because Aliza was the primary concern for everyone.

Klaus respected the witch and the love she had for her daughter.

Vincent stood beside Mithila, his hand on her shoulder, comforting her in his own way. There was an ache on his face, losing the person who he considered his brother. The fact that Aliza must have witnessed Rome's death was what made the pain worse for him.

Freya glanced at Lucien, who was on the other side of the room, leaning against the window with his hands crossed and a grim look on his face.

He had not said a word since they found them. Freya had so many questions but given that he saved Aliza, Mithila had asked them to leave him alone.

Elijah was beside Klaus while Kol and Rebekah were outside the room along with Marcel, Camille, and Katherine.

Everyone stiffened when they noticed Aliza's eyes twitch.

Mithila braced herself, glancing at Vincent when Aliza's eyelids began to flutter slowly.

"Aliza?" She asked softly, squeezing her daughter's hand. Mithila's heart raced when Aliza slowly opened her eyes, her face pale and her eyes red with circles underneath them.

Vincent let out a shaky breath when Aliza opened her eyes.

She groaned, pressing a hand against her aching head. Aliza's head was hazy heavy. The light made her eyes ache but slowly Aliza was able to adjust to the brightness.

"Easy," Mithila said softly, reaching out and helping Aliza get up.

Aliza gingerly leaned against the headboard and glanced around the room. Her mother was sitting beside her, while Vincent stood next to Mithila.

"Where's dad?"

Aliza noticed the way her mother was looking at her. She glanced at Vincent, his lips quivering and tears pooling at the bottom of his eyes.

"Mom? Where is dad?" She asked again, louder than before.

"Aliza, I-"

Aliza pushed the bedsheet away, getting up, her legs wobbly as she walked past Mithila. She strode towards Lucien, who stood there completely still with his eyes wide.

"Where's my dad?" She asked, grabbing hold of Lucien's arms. Aliza gripped them tightly, her heart racing.

"Where's my dad?!" Aliza yelled as she shook Lucien's arms.

"Love, you need to rest," Klaus suggested, walking towards Aliza.

"I just want my dad!" Aliza screamed, "Where's my dad?!"

Mithila pressed a hand against her quivering lips, the tears streaming down her cheeks.

Vincent exhaled, averting his gaze towards the ceiling.

Aliza whipped her head around, everyone was staring at her in shock. There was that feeling in her chest, that painful twist in her heart which she didn't want to believe or think about.

But that feeling became even more painful when she glanced at her mother. The unspoken truth in Mithila's teary eyes.

"No..." Aliza whispered, shaking her head. Her own tears began rolling down her cheeks, making her vision blurry.

Mithila bit the inside of her cheeks as she slowly made her way towards Aliza. Every part of her wanted to scream her lungs out as she stared into Aliza's eyes. The pain in them was suffocating her, burning her insides.

She reached out, her trembling hands gripping Aliza's shoulder.

"No,"

Mithila kneeled, pulling Aliza closer. She wrapped an arm around Aliza's waist and her other arm around her shoulder, gently pushing Aliza's head in her chest.

Mithila squeezed her eyes shut, holding her daughter tight as she sobbed for what must have been hours.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

That was the last time Aliza said anything.

It was like a big part of her went missing, nowhere to be found. She barely ate, her face pale and her eyes were swollen with circles underneath them.

The house felt colder than usual for everyone. As the days went by, no one knew what to do.

Aliza didn't speak, not even with her mother or Vincent. Kol tried but the only response he got from Aliza was her walking out of the room, barely even looking at him.

She wasn't going for practice, despite that Marcel still came to visit, the only reaction he got from her was just a glance.

Aliza refused to attend her lessons with Cami, who too tried to get her to talk but failed.

Klaus had no idea what exactly happened that night but after watching Aliza, he wasn't even sure if he wanted to know what Tristan did.

Aliza refused to attend Rome's funeral.

They kept it small, Vincent being there for Mithila as she sobbed in his arms. They tried to talk to Aliza about attending Rome's funeral but she was numb, no response, no reaction. Just blankly staring outside, lost in her mind, eventually falling asleep.

Klaus sighed again, "Come on love. Just a few bites." He said, glancing at the tray in his hands and then back at Aliza who was lying on the bed, with her back facing towards them.

"You have to eat something, darling," Kol added as he stared at Aliza with a painful look on his face.

He exchanged a grim look with Elijah who was standing beside him.

They had been trying to get her to eat something for almost three days. But all efforts were met with nothing but silence.

Rebekah had a hard time trying to convince Mithila to take some rest, she had been awake and by Aliza's side for almost the entire time. Camille too had to talk Vincent into getting some sleep.

They both had been by Aliza's side ever since they came back from the funeral. Both were trying their best to hide the pain of losing Rome.

Klaus sighed again when Aliza covered herself with the blanket.

He got up, walking towards the door that Kol held open for him. They all stepped outside with defeated looks tainting their faces.

"We have to make her eat something," Elijah said in a solemn voice.

"We can't even compel her,".

"We are aware, Kol," Klaus scowled.

An idea popped in Kol's head and he said, "Maybe Katherine can."

"Compel her?"

"No," Kol shook his head, "Maybe Katherine can pursue her to eat."

"We tried, brother," Elijah said, "What makes you think she will succeed?"

He had practically cooked every one of Aliza's favorite dishes. This was the sixth tray that they presented to her and yet she didn't even look at the food.

"In case you all haven't noticed Aliza trusts, Katherine," Kol reasoned. "More than she trusts us." He added to make his point clear.

Klaus couldn't help but wince at those words. He knew Kol was right, given that Aliza seemed much more comfortable with Katherine compared to them.

Just as he was about to speak, Katherine emerged from the other side, walking down the hallway, her heels clicking against the wooden floor.

She frowned when she noticed them.

Elijah opened his mouth to stop Kol.

"Katherine!" Kol exclaimed ignoring his elder brother, "We need your help."

Klaus noticed how Elijah stiffened, avoiding looking at Katherine. In other circumstances, he would've made fun of his elder brother but they had to think about Aliza so he kept his comments to himself.

"What is it?" Katherine asked when she walked to stand, she glanced at Klaus and the tray in his hands with her eyebrows raised.

Klaus also noticed how Katherine was deliberately ignoring Elijah's presence.

"Aliza won't eat anything," Kol explained, "Can you get her to eat something?"

Without further questions, Katherine nodded and turned to face Klaus. She gestured at the pale green china tray in his hands.

He handed it over to her and stepped back, giving her space to walk by. Elijah held the door open for her, still avoiding any eye contact.

He gently shut the door behind her.

Henrik lifted his head to see Katherine enter the room with the same tray Klaus had in his hands.

He watched as Katherine stood at the end of the bed, gazing at Aliza with a soft look in her eyes.

"Hey, sunshine"

Henrik's eyes widened when Aliza pulled the blanket down and glanced at Katherine who smiled at her.

Katherine's smile did falter whenever she saw Aliza's state. Her face was pale and her eyes were bloodshot with no emotion in them. She didn't know the complete story about what had happened that night, she wanted to ask Lucien but Klaus kicked him out.

She had been surprised that Klaus listened to Mithila when she asked him to let Lucien go.

"You have to eat something," Katherine said but Aliza covered herself with the blanket again after hearing the words, making Henrik sigh.

Katherine pressed her lips together before saying, "You have the unholy trinity being mother hens for you."

Henrik couldn't help but chuckle.

Much to his bewilderment, a small huff was audible from Aliza's side.

Katherine placed the tray on the nightstand and walked across the bed to sit closer to Aliza. She sat down next to her, gently tugging at the blanket.

She smiled softly down at Aliza's face. There were these unexplained motherly instincts that Katherine felt whenever she looked at Aliza.

"Your mother is tired, Aliza. She doesn't like watching you hurt yourself this way. And starving yourself is not going to change anything."

There wasn't even a flicker of emotions on Aliza's face but somehow Katherine knew she was pondering over her words.

Henrik's eyes widened when Aliza pushed the blanket down as she sat up, leaning against the headboard. She kept her head held down, her face still stoic as Katherine picked the tray up and placed it on Aliza's lap.

Katherine smiled as Aliza picked up the spoon and took a bite of the rice, gingerly chewing her food.

Katherine knew that pain all too well to know what it looked like on someone else. She remembered that day when she came home to see everyone she ever loved, gone forever. Their blood painted the walls. She remembered screaming as she held her mother's body, shaking her to see a sign of life, anything.

If Katherine knew what was going to happen if she betrayed Klaus, if she knew the price she had to pay, she would've sacrificed herself willingly. If giving herself to Klaus meant her family could live to see another day, she would've not even hesitated.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Elijah's head snapped up when they heard the door open. Katherine stepped outside with the tray in her hands.

He couldn't help but smile when he noticed that the bowls were empty.

"She also took her medicines," Katherine said as she placed the tray on the nearby wooden table.

"Katherine," Kol awed, shaking his head, "If we were together, I would have kissed you,"

Elijah clenched his jaw when Katherine smiled brightly at Kol who, in Elijah's opinion, was grinning like a fool.

He watched as Katherine along with Kol walked past him, not even sparing him a glance.

Elijah's eyes fell on Kol's hand that was rested against the small of Katherine's back.

There was a burn in his stomach at the sight of Katerina smiling at someone else like that. Elijah remembered the time when Katherine used to smile at him when he would chase her in the gardens.

He knew he had no right to ask for forgiveness, given that he was the one to leave Katherine and stood by when Klaus murdered her family. But every part of Elijah wished to just walk right over to Katherine and hold her tight.

Klaus stared at his brother's face, his misery was evident in his eyes. He always found Elijah easy to read, given they had been together for over a thousand years. He could see that Elijah was holding himself back.

Klaus could only hope that his brother would just do what his heart desired for once.

I finally got my writing spirit back! Yay!!!

How's the chapter, amigos???? Don't forget to vote.

Btw I think the writers of Legacies realized their mistakes and now we got to see a much darker side of Hope in season 3. But Hope acting so selfish for Landon is so out of character.

I'm still mad about the musical though but other than that the show seems to be becoming a little serious.

But there are still many holes in the characters and the plot and I also think that they should expand the relationship dynamics of the characters.

Hope and Josie would be amazing together plus I think Lizzie should have an epic love too, someone who would realize how much she is mistreated and will defend her. Kind of like how Stefan defended Caroline sometimes. I mean MG is cool but he and Lizzie don't match. There is no chemistry.

Tbh I am worried about Hosie and the other characters. The writers seem so immersed in Handon, the same way they were when it came to Delena. I don't want the characters to die for the sake of saving Handon the same way it happened when it came to Delena.

Also, I don't want Hosie to turn into Bamon. Josie defending Hope by saying that Hope loves Landon immediately reminded me of the scene when Damon told Bonnie that he loves her the way 'Elena loved her', which was totally unnecessary.

Also, there has been so little growth in Hope and Josie's characters. Lizzie seems much better and sensible yet she is mistreated. I just wish for a scene where Josie would apologize to Lizzie for using her mental illness to warn people off.
