Once the walkers came to the front of the store, the group killed them all so they could go inside. "We go in, we stay in formation for the sweep." Sasha said to the group. "After that, you all know what you're supposed to look for. Any questions?"
"Was there ever a time that you weren't the boss of me?" Tyreese asked his sister.
"You had a few years before I was born." Sasha said, making Madelyn chuckle. The group went inside the store, totally unaware there was there a small herd of walkers roaming the roof of the store.
Once everyone was inside, they began gathering as many supplies as they could. Madelyn looked around and picked up some food, water, clothes, before heading to the medicine aisle where she met Glenn. They both ended up reaching for the same product.
"I didn't know you took birth control." Madelyn joked, making Glenn roll his eyes in amusement.
"And I don't think I needed to know that you took birth control so you could sleep with Daryl." Glenn joked back. "This is for Maggie."
"Hey, you don't tell. I don't tell." Madelyn said.
"Deal." Glenn chuckled before grabbing a box and walking away.
"What was he laughing about?" Daryl asked as he came into the medicine aisle.
"This." Madelyn said, holding up a box of birth control pills.
"Is that why you were pretending to be asleep for the past week every time we were in bed together?" Daryl asked, making Madelyn's face turn red.
"Maybe." Madelyn muttered.
"You know, you're gonna have to make that week up for me." Daryl smirked.
"No problem. I have my little secret drug now. You're gonna have the time of your life." Madelyn said in a seductive tone before quickly walking away, making Daryl sigh dreamily. God, he loved this woman.
Madelyn met with Michonne and the two walked around the aisles, picking stuff up when they came across a walker. Madelyn gasped as Michonne shone a flashlight over it and it turned out to be a cardboard cut out of a zombie, promoting a video game.
"So funny." Madelyn said sarcastically as Michonne pulled her sword out and sliced the head part of the cut out off. Madelyn looked at Michonne in confusion.
"Still a walker, even if it's made of cardboard." Michonne shrugged. Madelyn continued having a little look around and she managed to pick up a polaroid camera. She imagined taking cute pictures with Daryl and smiled at the thought so she immediately put it in her bag. Whilst everyone was looking, a loud crash was heard in the store, making everyone jump and run over to where the sound came from. It was Bob. A whole shelf of wine had fallen on top of him.
"Are you alright?" Daryl asked as he shone his flashlight on him. "You cut or something?"
"No, man. But uh...my foot is caught." Bob said.
"Don't worry. We'll get you out." Madelyn said as Zach and Tyreese came to help.
"What happened?" Glenn asked, having heard the crash.
"It's alright. We're over at wine and beer." Zach said as the three men lifted the shelf up.
"I was moving fast. I drove right into the drinks." Bob said.
"Man, you lucked out." Tyreese said. "If this thing had come down on you the wrong way-"
Suddenly, Tyreese was interrupted when a walker fell through the ceiling and was caught by its own guts. "Yeah, we should probably go now." Glenn said.
"Bob's still stuck. Get him out of there." Daryl said as another walker fell through the ceiling and this time, it landed on the floor. One by one, walkers began falling inside. Madelyn jumped back as a walker fell through and splat right in front of her.
A walker fell on top of Glenn, trying to bite him when Madelyn quickly ran over and pierced one of her arrows into its brain before helping Glenn up. "Thanks." Glenn said.
"Come on." Madelyn said as they ran to help the others. Everyone was busy fighting the walkers and Bob was still stuck by the shelves. "Daryl, cover me." Daryl nodded and he and Glenn began shooting the walkers around Bob and Madelyn, allowing her to quickly get through and start pulling Bob out. They noticed a helicopter that looked like it was about to fall inside.
"Daryl, go!" Glenn yelled.
"Come on, Bob!" Madelyn yelled as she pulled him and Bob tried freeing himself. Daryl quickly shot the walker that was coming towards them and came in to help his girlfriend. Zach helped lift the shelf and Daryl and Madelyn pulled Bob out.
"It's time to go." Daryl said before a walker grabbed a hold of Zach's leg and bit him.
"Zach!" Glenn yelled as the walker began feeding on him, making everyone look on in shock.
"Go, go!" Michonne said as everyone quickly ran out of the store, leaving poor Zach inside.

Once everyone had gotten back to the prison, Madelyn decided she'd be the one to tell Beth that Zach didn't make it. She found Beth in her cell, writing something in her journal. She looked up when she saw Madelyn.
"Hey." Beth said.
"Hey." Madelyn said softly. She felt terrible.
"What is it?" Beth asked.
"It's about Zach. I'm so sorry." Madelyn said as she went over to Beth.
"Is he dead?" Beth asked.
"He died...helping Bob." Madelyn said.
"Okay." Beth said as she looked away.
"Are you okay?" Madelyn asked.
"I don't cry anymore. I'm just glad I got to know him." Beth said. "Are you okay?"
"I don't know. Losing people is so hard. I'm sick of it." Madelyn said.
"Life is hard now." Beth said.
"If you ever need anything-"
"I'll be fine. Thanks." Beth said. Madelyn nodded and went to her cell where she saw Daryl.
"How'd she take it?" He asked as he pulled Madelyn onto his lap and left a kiss on her shoulder.
"Surprisingly well. It's a shame. He was such a nice kid." Madelyn sighed. "He didn't even figure out what you used to be."
Daryl sighed. "I didn't used to be anything." He admitted, making Madelyn turn slightly to face him.
"What do you mean?" She asked, playing with a few strands of his hair.
"I didn't have a job, a career. I was a drifter. I used to go around with Merle either getting high or selling drugs. That's all we did. That's all we knew how to do." Daryl admitted as he looked away, ashamed.
"Hey, it's okay. So, you struggled. That's nothing to be ashamed about." Madelyn said, making him look back at her. "It's not your fault that you didn't get the guidance that you needed. We all struggled in different ways. Back when I was pregnant with LJ, Landon and I were worried that we wouldn't have enough money to provide for him. My job didn't pay much and Landon was convinced he had to get a second job. The point is, we all did what we had to. What was necessary, like we do now."
"Thanks for understanding." Daryl said, stroking her thigh.
"Of course." She said as she caressed his cheek.
"Speaking of Merle, Michonne told me." Daryl said, making Madelyn's heart stop. "Why didn't you tell me? My brother was living in the same cell block as you. I can't imagine you felt safe around him."
"There was a lot going on during that time." Madelyn sighed. "The whole war with the Governor and you were trying to convince the group to allow Merle to stay. Rick was going crazy and the group was all over the place. I couldn't add to that."
"I should've been there to stop him." Daryl sighed.
"Hey, it's okay. It's all over now. It's all in the past. I'm happy right here with you." Madelyn said, stroking his cheek with her thumb. "I love you."
Daryl smiled. "I love you too." He said before kissing her which lead to a night of bliss. Madelyn did in fact, give Daryl the night of his life.
