January 6th, 2020
"Angel, you ready to go?" Mase calls from the bottom of the stairs. Lilah sits quietly for a second, the girl shoving the ring in her pocket quickly as he walks into their room. He lies down on the bed beside her on his stomach, the brunette looking at her with slight concern as she stared out of the window.
"Angellll." Mason pokes her, the girl looking down at him softly.
"You ready to go?" Mason asks, watching her nod in response. He gets up just as she stands up, the girl looking at herself in the mirror wall.
"I'm gonna change my shoes, I'll be down in a sec." She replies. He nods, pressing a soft kiss to the top of her head. The girl waits until she can't see him on the landing before she walks into the room they have just for their shoes, the girl putting the ring on top of the cabinet as she changes her shoes.
"We're gonna be late." Mason calls. She panics and just leaves the ring where it is, the girl racing downstairs with the best smile on her face just before they leave.

Lilah sits across from Mason with one of her legs crossed over the other, the girl playing with the ends of her hair to distract herself whilst Debbie and Tony catch up with Mason.
"Jaynie, you okay?" Debbie asks, the girl looking up at Mason's mum and nodding. Debbie noticed the sheer panic in her eyes straight away, the blonde looking at her son who didn't seem to have noticed it himself. She feels her phone buzzing in her pocket as she takes it out, the girl groaning as she shows Mase who was ringing her before she excuses herself from the table.
She walks into the bathroom and leans against the sink, the girl answering her phone and having a 10 minute conversation with Lampard before he disappeared to tend to a family matter.
"Alright Jaynie, spill, what's up?" Debbie comments, scaring Lilah half-to-death.
"Nothings up." She shrugs.
"I know a liar when I see one, what's up? You look like you've seen a ghost." Debbie speaks, noticing how she shifts left to right on her feet uncomfortably.
"I've ruined Mason's engagement thing." She sighs, watching Debbie go wide eyed.
"How?" She questions in response.
"I was looking for my drivers license this morning and thought Mason got it mixed up with his so I was looking through his bedside drawer and found the ring." She looks at her feet.
"Oh Jaynie, you know Mason's not gonna be upset with you. It happens to the best of us, and to be honest it doesn't matter that you 'ruined it' because at the end of the day, you're gonna be engaged at some point." Debbie comforts her, moving some of her hair out of her face.
"Oh this is why I love you Deborah Mount." Lilah jokes.
"I don't love you now that you just called me Deborah." Debbie laughs before the two of them leave the bathroom.
"Everything okay?" Mason asks.
"Yeah, he just waffled about training and the fixtures for the match we have the day after your birthday." Lilah sighs.

"Lilah, did you go through my drawers before?" Mason calls. Lilah stops everything she's doing, the girl wishing the floor would swallow her whole.
"No." She replies.
"Lilah." Mason says rather sternly.
"Maybe." She sighs, leaning her head on the cupboard in front of her with her eyes shut. Mason stands in the kitchen doorway and watches her for a second, the brunette smiling to himself a little as she stays still.
"I'm sorry, I was just trying to find my drivers license and I didn't know you were even planning on proposing, I'm stupid." Lilah apologises, feeling rather guilty for ruining the surprise.
"Angel it's fine." Mason responds, the brunette on one knee behind her as she stands with her eyes shut still.
"No it's not, I've ruined it-" She starts to rant, the girl turning around to see him down on one knee.
"Didn't ruin it." Mason comments.
"I feel bad." Lilah admits.
"Hey, look, I was planning on doing it at home anyway. I know how much you hate to make a massive deal of things because you're a little anxious about them." Mason reassures her, the girl trying to fight off her smile.
"I'm gonna take the silence as an agreement?" Mason questions, watching her nod softly.
"Well in that case, Lilah-Jayne Finnegan, will you do me the massive honour of being my wife?" Mason questions.
"Of course I will silly." She laughs as he stands up, taking the ring out of the box and slipping it onto her finger. He moves some hair out of her face before he kisses her, the girl now feeling no guilt whatsoever for 'ruining' the perfect engagement plan.
"I'm gonna have to take it off at work so I don't bloody break it." Lilah laughs.
"It's fine, stop panicking over the little things." Mason replies, resting his head on top of hers as she continues making her drink.
