It had been a few months now since the group had fled the farm. Lori was now very pregnant and it was getting harder for her to keep moving from place to place, especially since they still hadn't found a safe and secure place to stay. Madelyn still didn't know what exactly her relationship was with Daryl. Sure, they liked each other, they kissed, they cuddled but they never really talked about it. Madelyn had been taking birth control for a few months now but they still hadn't been intimate together, going back to the fact that there was no secure or safe place for the group to stay.

Rick, Daryl and T-Dog had found an old abandoned house and killed any walkers that were inside. After getting the group inside for a quick rest, T-Dog noticed a group of walkers headed towards the house, causing the group to have to get up and leave only a mere five minutes later. After getting away from the house and the walkers, the group got out of their vehicles and looked at the map.

"We got no place left to go." T-Dog said.

"When this herd meets up with us, we'll be cut off." Maggie said. "We'll never make it south."

"What'd you say? It's about one hundred and fifty head?" Daryl asked.

"That was last week. Could be twice by now." Glenn said.

"This river could have delayed them. If we move fast, we might have a shot to tear right through here." Hershel said.

"Yeah, but if this group joins with that one they could spill out this way." T-Dog pointed out.

"So, we're blocked." Madelyn said. Things were still not looking up. The group had been on the road all winter.

"Only thing to do is double back 27 and swing towards Greenville." Rick said.

"Yeah, we picked through that already." T-Dog said. "It's like we spent the winter going in circles."

"I know. At Newnan, we'll push west." Rick said. "Haven't been through there yet. We can't keep going house to house. Need to find some place to hold up for a few weeks."

"Is it cool if we get to the creek before we head out?" T-Dog asked. "Won't take long. We gotta fill up on water. We can boil it later."

"Knock yourself out." Rick said.

Whilst Rick and Daryl went hunting, they spotted an old prison they thought would be the perfect spot to stay in. It was infested with walkers but Rick believed the group would be able to get rid of them so he led everyone to the prison. Rick cut a hole in the fence and everyone made their way inside the yard of the prison. There were walkers everywhere, all dressed in prison jumpsuits.

"It's perfect." Rick said as he admired the place. "If we can shut that gate, prevent more from filling the yard, we can pick off these walkers. We'll take the field by the night."

"Good, I'm in the mood for a little brain splatter." Madelyn said, playing with one of her arrows.

"That's my girl." Daryl muttered.

"But how should we shut the gate?" Hershel asked.

"I'll do it. You guys cover me." Glenn said.

"No, Suicide run." Maggie said.

"I think Maggie's right, Glenn." Madelyn said.

"I'm the fastest." Glenn said.

"No, you, Maggie, and Beth draw as many as you can over there." Rick said. "Pop them through the fence. Daryl and Madelyn, go back to the other tower. Carol, you've become a pretty good shot. Take your time. We don't have a lot of ammo to waste. Hershel, you and Carl take this tower. I'll run for the gate." Everyone nodded and went to where they needed to go.

Lori opened the gate so Rick could go inside and close the other gate whilst everyone distracted and killed the walkers. Madelyn and Daryl were in one tower, using their crossbows to cover Rick as well as Carol with her gun. Together, everyone was slowly getting rid of the walkers one by one. Rick managed to close the gate and everyone began clearing out the yard of the remaining walkers.

"Great job everyone." Rick said once everyone had met back up in the yard.

"You okay?" Madelyn asked Lori.

"Haven't felt this good in weeks." Lori said.

"We haven't had this much space since we left the farm." Carol said.

"Woo!" T-Dog cheered.

"We found our new home." Madelyn said to Daryl, making him smile and kiss her cheek as they all walked in.

It was now dark out and everyone was around the fire, having some dinner whilst Rick and Daryl kept watch.

"Mm, just like Mom used to make." Glenn said before throwing a bone.

"Tomorrow, we'll pull the bodies together. Wanna keep them away from that water." T-Dog said. "If we can dig a canal under the fence, we'll have plenty of fresh water."

"And this soil is good. We could plant some seeds, grows some tomatoes, cucumbers, soybeans." Hershel said before looking at Rick. "That's his third time around. If there was any part of it compromised, he'd have found it by now."

"This'll be a good place to have the baby." Beth said to Lori.

"She's right. It's safe and secure." Madelyn said before looking at Daryl who was standing on a truck, keeping watch. "I'm gonna give Daryl his dinner otherwise, he just won't eat."

"You're both cute together." Beth said.

"Thanks, Beth." Madelyn smiled before getting up and going over to the truck, climbing up with a plate of food. "Hey, brought you dinner. I put half of mine with yours and I know it's still not much but-"

"Hey, you eat, then I eat." Daryl said.

"But I already ate." Madelyn said.

"Clearly not enough. You eat, then I eat." Daryl said.

"D." Madelyn said.

"Maddie." Daryl said, making Madelyn roll her eyes and take a piece of meat before eating it, making Daryl smile before he started eating.

"I can't believe we finally found a place." Madelyn said as she looked around. The prison looked safe and secure. It really could be turned into a home with a little hard work.

"We're clearing the inside tomorrow. This time tomorrow, I'm taking you." Daryl said.

"Taking me where?" Madelyn asked but Daryl said nothing, making Madelyn's eyes widen in surprise before blushing. "Oh...you mean that. I didn't even know we were together like that."

"We were together the second you first kissed me." Daryl smirked.

"Oh really?" Madelyn teased.

"Yeah. Now give me some sugar." Daryl said, making Madelyn smile before kissing him. Every kiss felt special to the couple and they made every kiss count. Madelyn squealed slightly when she felt Daryl pulling her closer to him but of course, she didn't mind.

"Aren't you supposed to be keeping watch?" Madelyn asked when she pulled away slightly, still in Daryl's arms.

"Still got Rick. And anyways..." Daryl said, taking a look outside the gate before looking back at Madelyn. "There's nothing there."

"Excuses, excuses." Madelyn teased, making Daryl smirk and kiss her again. Madelyn smiled as she wrapped her arms around his neck, feeling Daryl's arms snaking around her waist. She drew little circles on the back of Daryl's neck with her finger, making him groan a little into the kiss before pulling her even closer to him. Since they were both running out of breath, they reluctantly pulled away, their noses still brushing against each other.

"God, you're beautiful." Daryl whispered before kissing her jaw. Madelyn bit her bottom lip as she played with the hair on the back of his head. He then kissed her nose.

"Come on, we should go and join the others." Madelyn said before they both got off the truck and headed to where the group were sat in front of the fire. Beth started singing a song as Madelyn and Daryl sat down. Rick also joined the group and sat next to Carl. Madelyn smiled and took Daryl's hand in hers as everyone listened to Beth and also Maggie singing.

"Better all turn in." Rick said. "I'll take watch over there. We've got a big day tomorrow."

"What do you mean?" Hershel asked.

"I know we're all exhausted. This was a great win but we gotta push just a little bit more. Most of the walkers are dressed as guards or prisoners. Looks like this place fell pretty early." Rick said. "Could mean the supplies could be intact. They'd have an infirmary, a commissary."

"An armoury?" Daryl asked as he stroked Madelyn's hand with his thumb.

"That'd be outside the prison itself but not too far away." Rick said. "Warden's offices would have info on the location. Weapons, food, medicine, this place could be a gold mine."

"We're dangerously low on ammo." Hershel said. "We'll run out before we make a dent."

"Well, that's why we have to go in there." Rick said. "Hand to hand. After all we've been through, we can handle it. I know it. These assholes don't stand a chance."

Everyone nodded and began getting ready for the night.
