"ok chat listen like just for a second, i was such an idiot in high school it isn't even funny" i said while trying not to laugh, "i'm not even kidding, i would have flunked out of precalc if it wasn't for lucas."
"it's true!" lucas exclaimed. "y/n just played snake instead of paying attention if i hadn't helped her."
user8: ok but was anyone good at math lmao

"and for that i am forever grateful." i glanced at my clock, which was about to hit the 11:30 mark, "on that note, it's nearly midnight, and i have shit to do tomorrow. so...goodnight shawties!" I blew a kiss at my webcam while lucas said his goodbyes and promptly ended the stream.
i walked out onto my balcony and sat to watch the cars pass by. i always thought d.c was prettier at night, but maybe i'm biased cause i'm a night owl. my parents worked in the city, so i grew up in and around it. going to fancy dinners, or boring museums that mom dragged you and dad too. i put in my headphones and brought up spotify. "tonights an arctic monkeys night" i thought, hit shuffle on favorite worst nightmare, and started getting ready for bed.
i woke up at 8 to a million notifications from twitter, apparently lucas had tweeted some high school stories while i was knocked out and my fans went apeshit. i poured out a bowl of cereal and went through my mentions. it was mostly fans but there was one that caught my eye, a reply from one jschlatt. nothing too interesting, just him reminding me that new york was better than d.c. we weren't really friends, but we'd talked a few times through mutual friends, like ted. i had a schoolgirl crush on him, but lucas was the only one who knew. i always got butterflies in my stomach when we interacted. i was about to reply to him when a reminder popped up on my phone. i needed to get some groceries, and yarn for the craft stream i was doing today.
i got back around 12 so i had some time to kill. i still needed to figure out the hotel situation for twitch con, so i decided to text charlie.
y/n: hey charlie which hotel are you and your crew gonna stay at for twitchcon? i wanna at least know some people in my hotel
charlie: i actually think we were gonna get an airbnb cause we wanna get lunch club videos done and stuff
y/n: oh yeah that''s crazy smart
charlie: dude you should stay with us! it'll be cheaper than a hotel and i promise all of them will love you
y/n: charlie i actually love you
y/n: maybe more than lucas
y/n: don't tell him i said that
y/n: i'm so down to stay with you guys, i have like 0 streamer friends lmao

i still had a shit ton of time to kill before tonight's stream so i decided to watch some american horror story. a couple episodes, and a monster later and i was ready to stream. "what is up chat! i hope all my shawties are doing well." i said as chat slowly filled with hellos' and whats up's. "today's stream is probably gonna be longer than usual cause i wanna get at least halfway through this sweater." i heard the dono chime come through my headphones.
"lucas today?" the robotic text to speech said.
"unfortunately he won't be joining us, because apparently some people have actual lives. weirdchamp i know." i said with a giggle. "but don't worry, there will be some friends on stream so you guys don't get crazy bored." i got out my yarn and explained to chat what we were doing today. it was just me and chat for about an hour, then we decided to call ted.
"y/n why didn't you tell me you were staying with us at twitchcon!" ted exclaimed as he joined the call. which of course made chat go crazy.

"ted! i haven't told chat about that yet!" i replied while trying to hold in my laugh. "but yes chat, i'm gonna stay with the lunch club guys."
"dude you have no idea how excited everyone is, i haven't seen you in forever"
"well i keep telling you to come visit me"
"i wish i could but i have school" he whined
"it's all good, i still love you."
ted stayed on the call for a good 3 hours, but it felt like 15 minutes. ted's like the older brother i never had. lucas on the other hand...he's like your annoying younger brother. i streamed for another 5 hours, charlie joined me for a bit, and minx for like half an hour, but it was mostly me. once stream was over i pulled out my phone and quickly tweeted that i wouldn't be streaming for the next week or so, just so i could get ready for twitchcon, but i would probably be showing up on some other streams. once my head hit the pillow i immediately fell asleep, 9 hours of streaming is a lot, even for someone who drinks monster all the time. dreamland was boring for the most part, just some meaningless bullshit. you know, the usual.
a/n: i hope this is an ok story, fiction isn't my forte but i figured writing a fic would be good practice.
