"This place is really cool." I said as we slowly made our way up to the second level of the warehouse. I was mesmerized by the walls that were all covered in graffiti.

I always found abandoned buildings to be the most beautiful things. It made you think about the history of where you were. One day there were people working, making jewelry then another day there was nobody here.

It was weird to think about.

"Sam and I used to come here all the time." Colby said as we walked around upstairs. "Yeah, we used to have existential crises on the roof like all the time." Sam said with a laugh. "Well doesn't that sound fun?" I asked with a laugh as I looked out the window.

There was a huge field and a train track that went through the property. It was late November so there were no leaves on the trees but I could just imagine how beautiful it would be in the summer or fall.

I looked out the open window for a second before I felt someone push me, causing me to stumble. I would have fallen out of the window if Colby hadn't caught me by my waist.

"Shit! Are you okay?" He asked as I brought my hand to my chest. "Is this place haunted?" I asked and grounded my feet, trying to her my barings back.

"Yeah...how'd you know?" Sam asked as Colby looked at me with concern. "Something pushed me." I said with a shrug as we stepped away from the window.

"You're okay though?" Colby asked as I nodded. "Yeah, thanks to you." I said and smiled at him. "Good." He said with a grin then took my hand as we made our way to the roof.

"Walk along the seams, the roof isn't stable." Colby instructed ans pointed to the seam in the metal. "Noted." I said as we walked.

It really was a beautiful day. The sky was in an overcast but the sun was still shining through ever so slightly. It was pretty cold but I liked it like that. We had to be careful since there was still a little bit of snow on the roof from last night.

"This is where we decided to do YouTube." Sam said and pointed to the peak of the roof. "That was a crazy day." Colby mused as we walked carefully. "What happened?" I asked as they walked up towards the peak of the roof.

"I had a hard day at school because someone told me that Colby and I were stupid for thinking we could do anything with vine." Sam said as Colby helped me get to where they were.

"The captain of the basketball team was always so hard on us because we were different, but on this day he was being brutal. He told me I would amount to nothing. That we were an embarrassment to the school and to our parents." He said as I frowned.

"He sounds like a douche." I mumbled. "Remember Brent?" Colby asked as I rolled my eyes. "Why am I not surprised?" I asked as Sam's face scrunched. "You met Brent?" He asked as I nodded.

"He was at the grocery store. He seemed like a douche." I said and looked out at the horizon. "He kinda is, but he also essentially gave us our career." Sam said then chuckled.

"I was so upset so I called Colby and told him to meet me here. We sat up here and talked about wanting to move to LA. It kinda really kickstarted our dream to start YouTube and change lives." Sam explained as I nodded. "That's a beautiful story." I said and leaned my head on Colby's shoulder.

Colby opened his mouth to respond only to be interrupted by the sound of a loud bang coming from downstairs.

"What was that?" I asked as I looked at the guys with fear in my eyes. "I have no idea." Sam said as they both stood up. "We-" Colby started but to get interrupted again by another loud bang and a loud scream.

"We need to go." Colby said and helped me up. "How the hell are we gonna get out of here? We're on the roof and they're down there." I said shakily as Sam and Colby led the way to the main part of the roof.

"Shit, she's right." Sam said as another loud bang sounded. Colby pulled me into him protectively as he looked around.

"We have to jump." Sam said as I shook my head. "Are you fucking insane?!" I asked frantically. "Hello?" The person downstairs called out as he walked towards the stairs that would lead him up here.

"Now. We have to go now." Sam said and booked it to the lowest part of the roof. "I hear you!" The guy called out as Colby grabbed my hand and pulled me in the direction Sam was going.

"It's too high, we're gonna get hurt." I said and looked down at the ground. "It's our only option, V." Colby said as I nodded. "You're right." I said with a sigh and started thinking about what we had to do.

"HEY!" The guy called out as he slowly made his way to us. I could feel myself starting to panic for a second before I shook my head.

I didn't have time to panic.

"You're the tallest, you'll have to lower yourself down and let yourself drop, bend your knees though so they don't break." I explained quickly and gestured to Colby. "I'm not lea-" He started but I shook my head. "We don't have time." I said then looked behind me.

"Go, dude." Sam said as Colby nodded and lowered himself down so that he would be dangling from the roof. I watching in horror as he let go and landed on the ground.

"You okay?!" Sam called out as Colby nodded. "I'm good!" He said as I looked at Sam. "Go." I said as he shook his head. "I'm not leaving you up here." He argued as I shook my head.

"We don't have time for this, you're the next tallest. Go." I demanded and pushed his shoulder so he would sit on the edge of the roof.

I looked around to see the guy on the other end of the roof, making his way over to us. He was wearing all black and was holding some sort of farming equipment. I didn't know what it was but I didn't really want to know.

I looked forwards again as Sam dropped down to the ground. Once I knew he was okay I sat on the edge of the roof and twisted my body around then lowered myself down so that I would be dangling.

My feet were still at least three feet off the ground when I was fully extended. It was harder than I thought it would be to let go, so I found myself hesitating.

"Let go, V. I'm gonna catch you." Colby instructed as I nodded. "Now?" I asked and tried to look down at him. "Now." He said as I nodded and let go.

I braced myself for impact for a second before I was safely in Colby's arms. "You good?" He asked and set me on my feet. "Yeah." I said and looked down at my body, making sure that I really was okay.

"We have to go." Sam said and started running. "Let's go." Colby said and took my hand, running after Sam.

As we ran I would occasionally look behind me, making sure that the guy wasn't following us. I was genuinely surprised that the paranoia wasn't coming out, but I wasn't complaining.

We ran about a mile before we finally got to the car and got in.

"That......was scary." Sam panted as we all tried to catch our breath. "Is everyone....okay?" Colby panted as we looked at eachother.

I gave a thumbs up as I closed my eyes, concentrating on getting my breathing under control.

We sat there for a minute before Colby started driving away from the warehouse.

"What do you think that guy was doing?" Sam asked and picked at my nails. "He had some sort of farming equipment in his hand..maybe he was supposed to be there." I said as Colby reached over and took my hand, pulling it into his lap.

"Maybe, it was just scary that he was chasing us." Sam said as I nodded. "I agree..we're okay though." Colby said as I pulled my phone out.

I wanted to get my mind off of the fact that we almost were in a terrible situation. I didn't think that guy would hurt us, but he might have called the cops on us.

It made me start to think about how quickly things can change. One second you could be fine and everything can be normal, then the next second your life can be falling apart.

I didn't realize that I had opened the text that Daisy had sent me, but it made me start to think again. What Daisy did was horrible but it wasn't all her fault.

Would it be fair of me to not even hear her out? I don't have to forgive her, and I don't have to be friends with her.

I felt like I just needed to hear her out.
