It was a shock for both of the sisters, to say the very least. Cassidy felt nervous for Thea, as she knew how her younger sister truly felt for Lando. Thea loved him, she's loved him ever since they were eighteen. However, Thea never acted upon her feelings or told him because she feared that he would reject her and their friendship would be ruined. Throw a baby into the situation, it only made things a lot more complicated, she never expected to become a mother at the age of twenty, she had things that she wanted to accomplish before she decided to settle down and start a family. She could only imagine that Lando would feel the same when she told him the news, once he arrived home from the last race.
Thea had been on a few dates in her lifetime, yet they never seemed to work out, she knew that it wasn't the guy's fault because they were respectful and kind, raised to be gentlemen but it was her own troubles. Every guy that she had met, she would compare them to Lando, yet none of them ever could match.
None of them would be able to make her laugh like he could, they wouldn't play just dance with her at three in the morning if she was bored like he would, they wouldn't make her as happy as he did. It was hard loving someone that didn't love you back, but it was apart of growing up. She was worried that when she told him, he would leave her alone.
"What are you going to do, T?" Cassidy asked the young blonde, the slight smile on her face giving her some ideas. Cassidy just wanted her sister to be happy in life, no matter what it was she doing, they wanted the best for each other, that's how it had always been.
"I'm having this baby, Cass." Thea said, a slight smile on her face as tears began to cloud her vision, happy tears instead of them being for a bad reason. Even though she was young, she wanted to give her baby the upbringing that it deserved, she was going to love and care for it if it was the last thing she did. She just hoped that Lando would feel like doing the same. "But how am i going to tell Lando?"
"You're definitely sure that Lando is the father?"
"He's the only person I've had slept with, so i'll say I'm pretty positive he's the dad." The two sisters giggled, as Thea came and sat back on her bed, letting out a calm breath before talking again. "What if he's not ready to raise our baby? What am i going to do then, Cass, i'll lose him. We're not even together, I wouldn't blame him if he left."
"I don't want you to think like that, Lando is your best friend. He has been for the past nine years, T. If he did make the decision to walk away, which i doubt he would, then you've got me and mum and the other Norris', you've got so many supporting you and your decision when you tell them." Remembering that she would have to tell her mum, Thea couldn't help but think about what her mother would say to her. She was and still is very close to her mother but she couldn't help but think that she would be disappointed in her youngest daughter.
Olivia Greene was a very understanding lady, she worked on british television so she had to be. The nation loved the Greene's, especially Olivia, her bubbly, energetic personality caused people to find accepted and comfortable around her. She was a national treasure, she raised her daughters to treat people how you wanted to be treated and they lived by that saying, she socialised her children to always be kind and to always be respectful.
Thea Greene loved to make people smile, she did this by being exactly how her mother raised her to be. From the way her smile grew wider when she read a certain line in a book to the way she laughed at one of Lando's awful terrible jokes. If people could be described as colours, Thea would be yellow. Yellow to signify the joy to the people who knew her and to represent her optimistic view of the world. But she would also be pink on majority of days, she was feminine and very romantic, she loved until she couldn't any longer and she was affectionate. She was Lando's favourite colour.
Fourty-five minutes had passed since Cassidy had left her sister's home after finding out the life changing news, and Thea had decided to spend her Friday afternoon in her favourite cafe. The cafe ten minutes away from her made Thea feel comfortable no matter what, she would come to the cafe every week, unless she was in another country with Lando. The owner was a older lady named Margaret; Margaret had owned the cosy coffee house for many years with her husband, Albert, but sadly he passed a few months ago.
Margaret had seen Thea as a granddaughter figure once she regularly visited, even helping out if she needed extra hands, Margaret and Thea had a special bond. A routine was set, T would arrive at noon and stay for at least two hours, and she never got bored of the cafe. She would either be reading 'little women' on the couch by the window, on her MacBook responding to emails and updating social media or she'd helping tidy up when people left. On occasion, Lando would join her and the pair never went unnoticed by Margaret, she could sense when two people were in love like a sixth sense.
She saw the way their eyes lit up at the sight of each other, the way they were always sat close with one another with her head resting on his shoulder, when their laughter filled the entirety of the room and not bothering to notice the people around them watching. Margaret always thought they'd be perfect together. Of course, Thea had told the older lady about her feelings for the driver, getting some amazing advice back but never acting upon it.
Today was no different, Thea was sat by the kitchen door reading a book that one of her followers had requested to her, a freshly made rose matcha on the little table in front of her. She was waiting for Margaret to come and sit down with her, she was going to tell Margaret the news and hopefully get some advice on what to do. Setting her blue eyes on one of her favourite people, Thea's smile grew wider by the second, closing her book and pulling the chair out for her. Margaret could tell that the twenty year old wanted to tell her something so she wanted T to comfortable when she did, so she brought out two slices of chocolate cake.
"Oh, Marge, you know me so well. Thank you so much." The younger woman gratefully said, turning her phone face down so she wouldn't distract herself.
"It's absolutely alright, my darling, i could tell you have something to say and cake makes everything better, doesn't it?" She replied, as they both giggled before digging into the chocolatey goodness.
"I do have something to tell you, but it can only stay between you and me for now, please." Margaret held out her pinky towards her favourite customer, Thea interlocking their pinkies together. "I'm having a baby." She confessed, with a smile on her face that you could see from a mile away.
"You're having a baby? Oh my goodness, T, I'm so happy for you! Come here, darling." Margaret clapped her hands, standing up and opening her arms for the blonde to hug her. Feeling hormonal and ready to cry, she immediately jumped off her chair and into the older woman's arms, wrapping her own around Marge's waist as they swayed for a few seconds. Tears fell down T's cheeks, probably staining marge's white cardigan with mascara, before pulling away from the embrace. Soft and gentle, yet slightly wrinkled hands cupped Thea's face and wiped away the tears off her blushed cheeks before she rested them on the blonde's arms. "Oh I'm so happy for you! You're going to be such an amazing mother. If you don't mind me asking, dear, who is the father?"
"You know the boy that comes in with me sometimes?"
"Lando? Yes i know, such a kind and respectful man. He talks to me while you're in the loo, he's truly smitten about you." Margaret admitted, secretly hoping that Lando was the father. "Is Lando the father?" She asked, Thea nodding as her smile faltered, sensing that he still didn't know about his unborn child.
"He still doesn't know, Marge. His f1 career is still semi new to him and I don't want to be the reason why things go bad for him, i cant do that to him, not after everything he's done for you."
"With all respect, love, but you need to do what you feel is best for you, your child and Lando. He deserves to know that you're going to be having his baby, because he'll be devastated if you hide it from him. This baby deserves to have both of his or her parents be apart of it's life so its a decision you have to make. But let me tell you a little secret, when i see you and Lando sat on that couch, i see a younger version of myself and Albert. You two have your whole life ahead of you, make the most of it with this baby because raising a child is the greatest reward of all time."
It was at that moment that Thea knew she was going to do this, even if it meant doing it alone.
