"Hello?"

"How's my baby girl doing?" Mom asks on the other end of the phone.

I smiled as I was following Anthony and Ryan around campus. "I'm good. How are you?"

"Missing you." She sighs. "How are things going?"

Looking around, I smiled as I took everything in and realized this was my future. "Everything is good. I think I'm going to love this place."

"That's great, sweetie. I miss you. When do you come back?"

I chuckle then smiled. "Mom, it's only been three days."

"I know but I miss you."

"I miss you too. I'll be home before you know it."

We hung up a few moments later then I placed my phone in my pocket before looking around. I saw Ryan point at something as he smiled over at Anthony.

We all walked around more, looking at everything that was in this campus. It was amazing and I couldn't wait to start my future here. I knew that I was going to love it here and this was future.

We've been talking about this for years, ever since we all got out of high school. We all wanted to come to a college together, get away from the life we were living and start our adventure together.

It was all happening and I was ready for it.

I couldn't wait.

Now that we were here, I knew that this was happening and it was coming true.

As we were walking around, I thought about Miranda. I thought about that day I went over there and caused so much shit. I shouldn't have walked out the door and left. I should of stayed there and kicked his ass then stayed with her.

I wasn't sure what was going on now, but I really hope when I get back I can at least see her. I hope she's doing well and that dickhead is finally gone.

I hate that she's stuck in that relationship. I know she's scared to leave James and the shit he would probably do if she did try to leave.

He's an asshole and I wish him nothing but the worst for him in hell.

We kept walking around then walked inside. I knew that we would get to see our classes and get our papers for signing up. We get to meet people as our instructors and classmates.

It was amazing.

"I'm a little nervous." Ryan said as we walked through the hall.

We came to a table where a few people were sitting. They were handing out paper that had the dates of when class started and the schedules for when we would start classes.

It wasn't until another few months, but I was more nervous now.

After we got out papers, I looked through mine and saw several classes then we all compared our schedules then noticed we all had a few classes together.

"Thank god." Anthony said. "I can't wait." He smiles at us. "Are y'all ready?"

"More nervous than ready." Ryan said.

I nod as I looked at my paper then looked at them. "Yeah, more nervous."

"We have time though." Anthony said. "We have another two months until we start classes." He holds up his papers that were in his hands. "Honestly.. it feels like a dream."

Smiling at him, we all walked through the halls of the building to see our classes. We walked inside and Anthony was acting as if he was a student. He would raise his hand, answer a question and we couldn't help but smile.

We all walked through the classes, looking around and everything was getting too real. I couldn't help but feel this anxiousness in my stomach that made me smile but also covered with nerves.

After we walked around inside, we went outside and walked more around. This place was amazing. It had a foutain and so many places where anyone could hang out after classes and it was honestly a dream come true.

"I can't wait. I hope I meet someone." Anthony said as we walked through the parking lot.

I shook my head as we all piled into his car then left a few moments later. I was in the back seat then I placed the papers in my lap and stared down at them as we were driving. I couldn't help but smile as I looked through them then out the window.

This city was pretty big and it was honestly overwhelming.

It was going to take some time to get use to living in a big city now cause we were all so use to living in a small town.

"Y'all hungry?" Anthony asked.

We all agreed to go get something to eat. I leaned up as they were talking about the classes then smiled as I listened and looked out the windshield.

I couldn't wait to start this adventure with my friends. I knew this was going to be a fun ride and I couldn't wait to start.

But as I thought about all of this, Miranda came to mind. I couldn't help but think about her and how I was leaving her behind when I move here and start my life.

I wasn't even sure if Miranda and I could have a life together.

Did I want a life with Miranda?

Of course I did.

But there was some things stopping us from having a life together.

James had to be out of the picture.

I needed to make sure he was gone and he couldn't touch her anymore.

I just didn't know how that was going to be possible.

Coming up with a plan on how to get rid of him was something heavy on my mind. It's been on my mind ever since I found out about the abuse, but I never could come up with something.

Miranda means a lot to me and I want her away from him for good.

But I tried not thinking about it too much cause I didn't want it to be obvious that I was zoned out. I listened to Anthony and Ryan's conversation as we were sitting in a restuarant. I looked around and waited for the waiter to come back with our drinks.

They were looking at the menus that were in front of them, looking at everything and I did the same thing. I was trying so hard to concentrate on the menu but I couldn't stop thinking about Miranda.

She was on my mind so much and it was hard to focus on anything else.

I wanted to be back with her.

Show her how much I care about her.

I wanted her.

I knew what I had to do and it was going to either come out great or something bad was going to happen that I was prepared for.

After we got done eating, we headed back to the hotel where we were staying. I kept looking up at the front towards them, thinking about telling them about Miranda but not sure how to come out and say it.

I was replaying what to say over in my head a million times on the way to the hotel but nothing was coming out right.

As we got to the hotel and went inide, we went to the elevators and went up to our floor. It was mostly silence between and I was thinking about the words in my head.

When we made it to our room, I sighed as I walked to the bed I was sleeping in before sitting down and watching them walk in.

Ryan went to the bathroom and Anthony grabbed a drink from the fridge we had. I watch as he sat on the bed he was sleeping on before turning the tv on and leaning against the headboard.

I kept watching him for a moment until Ryan came out of the bathroom. He walked to the other side of the bed, smiled at me before sitting down near Anthony.

It a was a few moments later when I decided to get this over with.

"Guys?" I watch as they both look over at me. "I have something to tell you."

"What?" Anthony asked as they were both watching me.

I looked over at the tv for a moment before looking back at them. "Ok, so.. y'all know the neighbors.."

"The asshole who's abusing his wife. Yes."

"Yeah.. and the wife, Miranda.. I guess you could say that we kind of like each other?"

They stared at me for a moment then Ryan looked over at Anthony. I saw him lean up a little and tilt his head. "Elaborate?"

"Yeah," Ryan said. "how do you know y'all like each other? Have y'all been talking?"

"Yes. It's a long story but-"

"We got time, babe." Anthony smiled as he scooted closer to me as he crossed his leg. I saw Ryan do the same thing and they were both watching me, waiting for me to tell them this story.

Explaining to them how Miranda and I had feelings for each other was a lot easier than I thought. They didn't judge me, cause they were my friends and I told them pretty much everything.

"Whoa," Anthony said. "you fought that asshole and didn't call in back up? What the hell? We would have loved to be there with you."

I shook my head. "I didn't fight him. I was just trying to keep him away from Miranda."

"So.. she won't leave him cause she's scared?" Ryan asked.

"Yeah.."

"Understandable." Anthony said. "But let us handle him and then Miranda wouldn't be scared to leave him." He smiles. "Then you can be together."

I slightly smile. "Yeah, I wish it was that easy."

"It could be that easy. Your mom already knows your gay."

Anthony nods. "That is true but then you have Brenda who doesn't approve of that shit and could ruin everything once she finds out."

"Y'all," I smile at them. "thanks for being so cool with all this.."

"That's what friends do." Ryan smiles.

Anthony nods. "Yeah.. we're here for you no matter what. Plus, I think it's hot."

I roll my eyes then smiled. "Only you."

We all talk for a few hours, and they kept hyping me up about Miranda. They told me that I needed to go to her when we got back and I honestly couldn't agree more with them.
