*Knock* *Knock*
The sound of knocking on the door cut off Metawin's concentration who was busy reading the company's financial statements
"Come in"
"Excuse me sir, someone wants to meet you" Film said politely
"Who?"
"Her name is Miss Baifern.. She said that she was your old friend"
Hearing that name succeeded in making Metawin lose his mood.. He sighed roughly and shook his head
"Get rid of her, tell her never to come here again"
"Okay, sir"
"And one more thing, she's not my friend"
Film nodded in understanding then she walked out of her boss's room
Then Metawin closed the files in front of him and stood up from his place to go to the room where he usually changed clothes
But suddenly the door to his room opened again and revealed a figure that he really didn't want to see.. The beautiful girl casually entered the room
He gave her a flat stare and his mood was getting worse
"I-I'm sorry, sir.. I've been trying to send her away, but-" Film apologizes for negligence in carrying out her duties
"It's okay, leave the two of us" Metawin sighed and said
Film once again apologized to her boss, then she came out and closed the door again
Then, only Metawin and Baifern were left looking at each other in the room.. But as if Metawin's patience was exhausted, he opened his voice to indicate his dislike for the woman who presumptuously entered his room
"What are you doing?"
"I've come this far, don't you have any intention of letting me sit down?" Baifern asked back
"Who are you who can come into my room arbitrarily?"
"Hmm.. Your future wife" Baifern smiled and stepped closer to him
Metawin who heard that immediately laughed loudly and looked at the woman who was standing in front of him in disgust
"It seems you are dreaming, let me help you to go home" Metawin turned around and pressed the button on his desk phone
"There are uninvited guests, please lead her out of here" After he spoke on the phone, he turned back towards Baifern.. But she still looked at him with a relaxed face
"I brought you lunch, eat it" She said as she put down the lunchbox she had been holding
But not long after, his bodyguards knocked on the door and went inside.. The two bodyguards came and immediately bowed respectfully to his boss
Metawin who saw his guards came and ordered them to take the girl away from there, "Take this woman away"
They obeyed and walked over to her, but Baifern's one hand rose and told them to stop in his place
"I can walk by mysef, enjoy your lunch" Baifern said with a sweet smile, then she walked out and was followed by his guards earlier
After the door to his room closed again, he breathed a sigh of relief and went to the changing room to change his clothes.. He took off his office suit and changed into a more casual outfit to go out for lunch
Just before he left his room, he glanced at the lunch boxes that Baifern had brought, then he took it out too
"Eat or throw away, it's up to you" he said while placing the lunchbox on Film's table
But before Film could answer, Metawin immediately rushed to the elevator and went down
As usual, he wears his usual clothes for lunch outside and takes a short walk to get rid of his fatigue.. At first, he didn't know where to go, but somehow his heart led him until he arrived in front of Vanille Cafe and Patisserie
He opened the cafe door and the smell of coffee and fresh bread greeted his sense of smell.. Then, he walked in straight to the cashier
"Welcome sir, what can I get for you?"
"I want to order Spaghetti Aglio e Olio and Iced Lemon Tea"
"Spaghetti Aglio e Olio and Iced Lemon Tea.. Is there anything else?" The cashier swiftly typed the order and asked again
"Hmm.. can you recommend me a dessert?" Usually, Metawin likes to eat something sweet if he is in a bad mood, so he decided to order a dessert
"One of our employees is developing a new dessert, are you interested in trying it?"
"Really? What is it?" He asked curiously
"This new menu is an Apple Pie.. You don't have to pay for it sir, we just need your input and comments as the first customer to try it"
'Apple Pie? Hmm interesting' Metawin thought
He finally agreed to try the new menu.. However, because he felt uneasy about being given free food, he wanted to meet the recipe developer to convey his opinion directly.. Of course, they didn't mind and agreed to his customer's request
After he finished ordering, he took his seat by the window so he could take a look at the situation outside.. Seeing many people passing by with all their activities made Metawin realize that he is lucky enough to be able to relax at this time
Several minutes have passed, his order came and was brought by one of the waiters.. When the waiter placed his order, he said that the dessert would be delivered when he had finished eating his main course
Metawin certainly didn't mind that and thanked the waiter.. Because he was starving, he immediately ate the food that was already in front of him
He ate his food deliciously and finished it in no time.. Then, he gave a sign that he had finished eating his main course.. The waiter who saw that then gave a sign to his friend to prepare the dessert while he lifted Metawin's empty plate
"Excuse me sir, this is your dessert which is a new menu that I'm currently developing" The waiter said softly as he put down a small plate of an apple pie
The waiter who came this time was different from the previous one.. Because Metawin asked to meet directly with the menu maker, the one who delivered the dessert directly was the menu maker
"This menu may be very simple but this menu has its own story behind it, I hope you enjoy it sir.. Please try it" The waiter said excitedly but with a little worry too
Metawin looked at the apple pie that was served in front of him.. He nodded and then looked at the menu maker.. He was surprised to see that the menu maker turned out to be a kind person who had stolen his attention.. Metawin was silent for a while, but the waiter broke his reverie
"Sir? Are you all right?"
Metawin immediately cleared his throat and focused his mind again
"I'm okay.. Sorry, may I know your name?" Actually he already knew the name of the young man in front of him, but he just wanted to make sure
"You can call me Bright, sir"
Metawin just nodded and took his little spoon to eat his dessert.. He cut the pie into small pieces and popped it in his mouth
As soon as the pie greeted his tongue, old memories also greeted him.. Old memories that he never forgot, memories of his mother
He remembers how his mother used to be very happy to make various kinds of cakes for Metawin to eat, and one of his favorites is his mother's Apple Pie
'How come.. How can it taste so similar to yours, mom?' He thought while stared at Bright with a deep gaze.. Bright was confused because of Metawin's stare, but he only smiled
Metawin looked back at his dessert, then he cut the cake again and ate it.. He almost shed tears if it wasn't in a public place, this feeling really reminded him of his mother and he missed his childhood days when his mother was still alive
"Is this menu your own creation?"
"Actually, my mother used to make me an apple pie.. Whenever I was sad and depressed, surely my mother would make this to encourage me" Bright said
Metawin who heard that also smiled at him.. It turns out that he and this young man have the same memories, he thought
"I want everyone who eats this pie to be happy when eating it, as well as for you, sir" Bright added
Those words made Metawin's heart warm.. His mother had said the same to him
'Win, when you're sad, tell me and mommy will make a delicious apple pie just for you.. I'm sure that after you eat it, you will definitely feel happy'

A brief memory of his mother crossed Metawin's mind and suddenly made his heart a little sore.. He missed his mother even more
"Sorry sir, is there something wrong?" Bright asked worried
Metawin cleared his throat again and took his glass to drink his tea
"Your apple pie is delicious, but maybe you can add a little more cinnamon to perfect the taste" he happily commented
"Ahh, I think I didn't add enough cinnamon in it, sir.. Thank you for giving me an advice" Bright happily answered Metawin while bowing once towards him
Metawin just nodded and smiled back to him.. Then, Bright took the empty plate in front of him and returned to the kitchen.. Metawin looked at the young man's back for a moment then he got up from his chair and left the cafe to return to his office
The apple pie was enough to bring his mood back and make him more excited to continue his work
But when he came out of the cafe, he saw Bright, who was kind enough to share food with street children who often passed on this street again.. And he heard a little conversation between them
"I have a delicious cake for you to eat, this is an apple pie.. Share it with your mother too, okay?" Bright said while handing over a cake box
"The taste is not perfect, but still delicious.. Trust me, when you eat it, you will definitely feel happy" he added
The little boy nodded and thanked the kind giver.. Metawin who saw that once again smiled towards Bright who was not far from his place
'You are too kind for this wicked world, Bright' he thought and left the cafe
