Later in the imperial prison hallway, Ezra had just finished using his lightsaber cut open the vent before entering the hallway and deactivating his saber. Ezra reaches out with the force, and senses which Kanan's in before opening the cell door. When he enters, he sees Kanan unconscious in the chamber, causing the kid to gasp in concern.
"Kanan!..."
Ezra rushes forward before strapping his friend from the chamber, causing Kanan to collapse into Ezra's arms. "Come on Kanan, wake up!... I've already lost my first father, I can't lose my second one!..."
Gently, Kanan's emerald eyes opened to see Ezra's bright blue eyes staring down at him. "Ezra?..."
Ezra smiled before helping his Master up. "(SIGHS) You're okay!.... Turns out you taught me pretty well."
Kanan smiles as Ezra helps them to his feet, before walking him out of the cell. "(SIGHS) You shouldn't have come here, but I'm glad you did."
Ezra smiles at his Master, knowing it's the least he could do after he saved his life. "You would've done the same for me. In fact, you have."
Meanwhile, Sabine, Zeb, and Hera are looking for another way out when they run into more stormtroopers! Zeb shoots one of them with a bo-gun before he and the others go the other way. Sabin began to worry about Ezra and Kanan. "I hope Ezra's found Kanan by now!.."
On the other side of the ship, Ezra leads Kanan through a different hallway to get to Chopper. Unfortunately, the Inquisitor is waiting for both of them! The evil Jedi hunter smirks before reaching for lightsaber behind his back ignites it without hesitation, ready to end Ezra's life for good! Kanan sees what the Inquisitor is up to and finally gets the energy to stand up on his own. It was one thing to imprison him and torture him in an imperial torture chamber, but there's no way was he letting hurt Ezra. He reached over Ezra's shoulder and grabbed his custom lightsaber.
"Let me borrow that."
Ezra stepped back, knowing that Kanan could handle himself. "Yeah, no problem."
Kanan forward attack but kept switching between the blaster part and the saber to catch the Inquisitor off guard. Ezra watched completely impressed. "I never thought of that."
As Ezra rushes towards his friend, he sees that the Inquisitor is pushing his saber up against Kanan's, coming close to burning him! Ezra knew since his friend's energy is still weakened from all the electrical torture. The kid looked over and saw Kanan's lightsaber hanging from the Inquisitor's belt. Focusing all his energy, Ezra reached out with the and force grabbed his Master's saber before igniting to get the Inquisitor's attention away from Kanan. The Inquisitor noticed this and turned towards the young boy.
"At last, a fight that might be worthy of my time."
The Inquisitor activates the second blade of his lightsaber, before Kanan and Ezra charge at him, fighting with their sabers. Ezra knew he didn't have much experience fighting, but he had to push through for both him and Kanan. While their blue sabers were locked with his, the Inquisitor force pushed Ezra to the ground, causing him to focus on Kanan. They clashed for a moment just before the Jedi hunter kicks Kanan's side, causing the man to groan a little in pain. The Inquisitor took advantage of this and force pushed him to the ground too!
"(Screams)"
Ezra wakes up just in time to see Kanan on the ground and does his best to get up. The Inquisitor launches his spinning lightsaber at the boy. Ezra tries to deflect it, but the red saber cuts a scar on his left cheek, causing the boy to scream in pain! The result causes Ezra to drop his lightsaber, before falling off the platform! Kanan saw what happened as he slowly regained his senses, as he reached a terrified hand to the falling boy.
"No!..."
The Inquisitor smirks evilly as his lightsaber returned to him, as he turned to Kanan, who was panicking on the ground after seeing Ezra getting hurt. The elder Jedi felt tears come to his eyes but shut them at the sight of Ezra's stiff form on the lower platform. The Inquisitor smiled sickly, knowing the supposed death of Ezra would break him more than the death of his master. Slowly, Kanan took a deep breath before calming thoughts and slowly rose from his spot, ready to wipe the evil smirk off of the Inquisitor's face.
"That was a mistake!..."
"Why? Because you have no one left to die for you?..."
Kanan force grabs the lightsaber Ezra dropped earlier before ignites it as well his lightsaber, glaring at the Jedi hunter. "No. Because I have nothing left to fear!..."
The Inquisitor smirked before doing a lightsaber stance. Kanan copied the move before charging at him. Meanwhile, the others were still trying to find another way out. "The other troopers are waking up."
"That puts twice as many between us and Chopper."
"I think I have an alternate plan!..."
"All right."
"Here's part one. (THROWS A SMOKE BOMB AT THE TROOPERS BEFORE SHE AND THE OTHERS MAKE A RUN FOR IT.) Part two, we go to Bay 5."
Hera smirked, knowing what her plan is. "Huh. Where your masterpiece is."
"That's got nothing to do with it!..."
"Ezra, we're finding another way out. Ezra? Can you hear me? Ezra!..."
On the platform, Ezra was just waking just in time to answer as Mark lands on the platform, unknown to either of them. "I'm here!...."
"Do you have Kanan? Is he okay?..."
Ezra looks up to the upper platform and sees Kanan fighting the Inquisitor. Ezra looks in awe at his master, amazed at his true Jedi skills. "Yeah!... I think he's better than okay!...."
He sees his brother behind him, with a vengeful look in his eyes."Jedi boy, I will end you!..."
Ezra rolls his eyes in annoyance, before grabbing Ahsoka's lightsaber and ignites it. "Let's go!..."
The both of them started fighting with flashes of red and blue sabers, clashing in between each other. "My opportunity to impress Vader to craft a position for myself!... And you ruined it!..."
Ezra just rolls his eyes, his tone turning serious. "I'm crying on the inside for ya!... (FORCE PUSHES HIM AWAY, BEFORE POINTING HIS LIGHTSABER AT MARK, SIGHING BEFORE HIS TONE TURNS SERIOUS.) Vader... Is lying to you!... Anakin would never hurt an innocent!...."
The young boy narrows his eyes before Ezra deactivates his weapon, wanting to make his point about threatening his new family.
"Your grudge is with me!... Stay away from my family, and my Master!.... Understood?!... (JUMPS ONTO A LADDER BUT TURNS BACK AT HIS FORMER BROTHER, HIS TONE SERIOUS BUT COMPASSIONATE.) Believe me, Mark!...."
Mark turns away to leave, not knowing what to believe anymore. Ezra pulls himself back onto the platform just in time to see the Inquisitor backed up to the ledge by Kanan.
"You were right. I was a coward. But now I know there's something stronger than fear-- far stronger. The force. Let me show you how strong is!..."
Kanan points both his lightsabers at the center of the Inquisitor's saber, causing the evil hunter to drop it and cling on to the ledge! However, the saber is broken in half and lands in the energy core, causing the ship to explode! The explosion causes the ship to rumble a little making Kanan, Hera, Zeb, and Sabine lose their balance. The eldest Jedi stood over the defeated Inquisitor, ready to finish him for what he did to Ezra. The young boy watches unnoticed by either of them, silently pleading for Kanan not to give in to the dark side as the Jedi hunter spoke up.
"You have no idea what you've unleashed here today!..." Kanan lowered his sabers, much to Ezra's joy and relief before the Inquisitor spoke up. "There are some things far more frightening than death."
Before either of the two Jedi could ask, the Inquisitor let go and fell in the raging flames of the platforms below. He was gone, for good!... Kanan was shocked but looked down sadly at the raging flames, quietly mourning the supposed loss of his student. Ezra stepped forward, concerned for his friend before speaking up.
"Kanan?... (SEES THAT HIS FRIEND DOESN'T HEAR HIM, BEFORE RAISING HIS VOICE.) Kanan..."
This time, Kanan turns around and is shocked to see Ezra alive and standing. The young boy's concerned face turns into a real smile. Kanan's eyes beam with joy, as he sees the scar on Ezra's left cheek, realizing the kid is alright.
"I thought I lost you!..."
"I know the feeling. Let's go home!..."
The engine core starts to rumble, causing both of them to almost lose their footing. Kanan tosses Ezra's lightsaber to him before they make a break for the door to find a way out!
