You walk in,
And my heart beats different.
To say Alec was mad would be an understatement. Two nights had passed and she hadn't showed up yet. He knew there was a possibility she wouldn't come at all, but he was so sure he would be able remind her of everything he buried those thoughts in the deepest parts of his mind.
Alec had dragged Jane to the training room. He was slashing at her with all his might as she dodged every attack skillfully and tried to fight back. She couldn't help but notice how much she has improved in fighting ever since she stopped counting on her powers only.
"Calm down would you?" She almost shouted as she dodged another big slash, "You're teaching me not killing me."
He straightened his stance and shrugged, "Sorry sister, but we have to be prepared for when they arrive."
The blonde girl rolled her eyes and grabbed his shoulders, "Brother, I understand you're worried about me, but I'm not a little girl needing you and Mel's protection anymore."
Alec let a small smile slip out, "You said her name."
She raised an eyebrow, "Huh?"
"Ever since she left she has been a taboo subject for you to talk about." Finally understanding what he was saying she pushed him playfully.
He put his hand on his ear as if he was waiting for a whisper and teased, "I didn't hear a denial!"
"I mean you are speaking the truth." She shrugged picking her dagger from the ground, "I guess having her back even if it was for those circumstances made me get used to her again."
Alec hummed in agreement, and they stayed in silence for a few minutes before Jane murmured hesitantly, "Do you think we are going to have to fight her."
He frowned, he hadn't thought about that, he knew he wouldn't be able to harm her and he believed neither did Jane, "I don't know, she was put in the same predicament as us when she witnessed for the Cullen's against us. So I think that when the time comes we should think like her instead of about her, we have to focus on being on the right side." Alec looked down at his sister again, "That's what she would have wanted us to do."
"I don't think I'll be able to-" This Was all he was able to get because Alec's mind suddenly snapped elsewhere, he didn't see her, he didn't smell her, but he sensed her, Alec didn't know how but he did. He looked at the door that leads to the guards' chambers and narrowed his eyes.
He started walking towards it and put his arm on his sister's shoulder and said distractingly, "I have to go." And just like that, he was out of the room. The closer he got to the room the more nervous he felt, and as he stood right in front of the door his hand warily on the doorknob. Millions of thoughts were going through his head, what if it was a trap? What if he was wrong and she wasn't there? What if- He shook his head and took an unneeded breath to clear his thoughts before opening the door.

He closed the door not daring to turn around and be proved wrong.
"I'm getting annoyed, turn around, and let's get this over with." She whispered harshly.
Alec whipped around and almost smiled when he saw her standing next to his balcony, hands on her hips while tapping her foot on the ground.
"How come you're here?" He tilted his head.
"I got sick of seeing you pout." She whispered again. So she was watching him, knowing her it was probably to see if he was saying the truth when he invited her.
"Why are you whispering the room is soundproof." He said smugly approaching her.
Mel rolled her eyes, "Why did they even do that?"
"Aro got sick of hearing couples mating." He said sitting down on the sofa facing his bed, and raised an eyebrow at her, "You can sit you know." Melione sighed before joining him, she almost couldn't help the sigh as his beautiful scent penetrated her nostrils. "How long do you have?" He asked.
"As long as I want," She shrugged, "I always disappear unexpectedly."
"What do you want to know?" He asked softly.
"I don't know." She thought, "If what you're saying is true then how did we truly meet."
And he started telling her about that night, how she stood up for them and made the stupid kids run away, how she convinced them to become her friends, how they made it their habit to meet up in the woods.
"So me and you twins were friends."
"The closest, but at some point me and you realized we were in love and we became a couple." He stared at her awaiting her reaction as she glared at the ground.
"How come I'm not with you now if that's the truth?"
His stomach filled with dread at that memory.
"She is probably pregnant with the witch's child!" Bellowed the priest as the villagers started chanting "Burn her!"
He frowned as he watched her gorgeous face.
Mel released a scream so loud, so agonizing that even a few villagers stopped for a moment to think, her cries for help soon turned to whimpers as she couldn't suck in fresh air anymore.
He reached his hand out and removed the hair covering her eyes, waiting to see the mesmerizing blue color only to be met with red.
"Alec..." she whimpered one last time, as her eyes closed.
His lips were now brushing against hers when he snapped away suddenly and rushed to the balcony. He gripped the railings tightly as he looked down at the forest.
Mel was still sitting on the couch in shock, gaining back her senses she stood up and headed his way, when she was standing right behind him she reached out her hand and touched his back hesitantly making him tense up, "Alec." She whispered now that they were able to be heard.
"I was the reason you died." He whispered after an eternity of silence, Mel raised a curious eyebrow and moved to lean on the rails next to him. "That night we were burned at the stakes," He gulped, "They took you so you could lead them to us, me and Jane rushed to help, and you being you, you stayed and fought, fought for us, and we ended up being burned at the stake together." He glanced at her.
"That doesn't explain how-"
He cut her off continuing his story, "Aro turned us all but having focused on me and Jane our whole lives he hadn't noticed how powerful you were and neglected you, leaving you with the wives. When we finally met again me and Jane were so blinded by revenge we drove you away. And for centuries I looked for you to no avail, learning to live without you was so hard, I learned to conceal my emotions and became the 'evil twin' everyone knows now." He ended his throat was sore from the want to cry and unable to.
"Wow..." She mumbled, her eyes wide as she looked at him waiting to see a sign that he was lying.
"Then we crossed paths again when you were protecting the vegetarians, and we were suddenly thrown into another war... this war. You were kidnapped, and the rest is history." He gestured at her, addressing her current situation.
"But how did I lose my memory?"
"What's your master's power Lionne?" He turned to face her. That's when her eyes widened in realization, "Exactly," He murmured, "I understand if you want some time to think about all of this." He muttered before turning and heading inside thinking she would leave.
Alec went into the toilet and took a long shower pondering in his thoughts, when he got out, a towel wrapped around his waist and using another one to dry his hair, he hadn't expected to see Melione still there looking through his stuff. Alec cleared his throat gaining her attention.
"You're still here."
Mel's eyes zeroed in on his lean body, before faking a cough and looking at his face that was tilted to the side in amusement making her more flustered.
"Thought I could 'think about all of this' here."
