"Why would he want us here at midnight on a Thursday?" Henry asked as we all paced the Man Cave.
"I don't know, but if it's because he had a bad dream again, I am not going to sing him a lullaby this time." Charlotte said shaking her head, going back to pacing.
We then hear screaming coming from the elevator.
"Maybe it's an emergency, like maybe he..." but I stopped talking when the elevator door opened to Jasper on the floor.
"I'm here!" Jasper said walking in with an American flag onesie and...hair curlers?
"That's an emergency..." Henry pointed at Jasper, and walked away to stand next to me.
"Are you...why would...curlers?!" Charlotte said confused, walking towards Jasper.
"What? You thought my hair was NATURALLY curly?" Jasper asked. I roll my eyes at him, but then the tube went down. We all look over and see Ray coming down.
"Heyyy." He said all weird, smiling like an idiot. "Hello friends, welcome, welcome."
"Yeah."
"Okay."
We all said looking him at concerned.
"And now, I want to introduce you to someone who is very special." He said while another tube came down. We all look over and a women came down the tube.
"Who's that?" I whisper to Henry.
"I don't know." He whispered back as well stood in shock. "Like a woman."
"Yeah." Jasper said, making me and Charlotte look at them both.
Then, Ray kissed the woman.
"Everyone, this is Gwen." Ray said leading her towards us. I look at Henry and he looks at me.
"Hi guys." She said, holding Ray in her arms. I raise an eyebrow, looking at them.
"Uhhh, heyyy Gwen." We all said, giving small waves.
"Yeah, Ray, can I talk to you for a second. One second." He said pulling Ray off her, and moving towards the other side of the cave. I watch them talk, and then look at Gwen. She gives me a small smile and I give one back.
They continue talking and I look at Jasper and Charlotte trying to understand what was going on.
Ray was the last person to tell anyone that he was Captain Man, which confused me on how he could tell this lady that we've never met.
"Hey honey! I'll bet you'll never guess who this lovable knucklehead really is!" Ray said putting his arm around his shoulder. We all begin to say no, trying to stop him.
"Kid Danger!" He laughs, making Henry push him off. "It's okay, Gwen knows that I'm Captain Man."
"Ray!" We all screamed. I sigh, throwing my hands up in the air.
"And guess what else," Ray walked up to Gwen taking her hand, "Gwen and I...we're getting married."
Then, Schwoz walked in.
"Heyyy. What is happening?" He said in that accent, walking towards us.
"Ray is getting married to a women he met three hours ago." Henry blurted out, making Schwoz scream what.
Schwoz begins to question, until he looks at Jasper.
"Why does Jasper have those things on his head?" He asked pointing at Jasper's hair.
"Because his hair isn't naturally curly." I answer.
Schwoz screams what again. We all stand there looking at the scene before us.
After that weird encounter at the Man Cave, Henry takes me back home.
"That was crazy. Something has got to be off with him." I say as we get to my door. He nods his head, trying to think.
"We'll figure it out tomorrow. You'll be at Junk N' Stuff right?" He asked.
"I do indeed work there, Henry." I smile. He smiles back and nods.
"Okay, I'll see you tomorrow, okay?" He said taking my hand. I blush slightly and nod. He lets go and walks to his house. I sigh walking in quietly and heading to my room so I wouldn't wake up my parents.
I fall onto my bed looking up at the ceiling. Henry and I have been best friends since kindergarten, but lately things have been weird between us. Before, us handing out was completely normal, but once I found out he was Kid Danger, things have been different.
We've gotten more nervous around each other, and we're more touchy than normal. For example, when he grabbed my hand before he left. Maybe I was just overthinking it, but it didn't seem just friendly.
I turn off my light, and try to get some sleep before tomorrow.

I walk into Junk N' Stuff to see Jasper watering Omar and Henry pacing.
"Henry, this plant's intimidating me." Jasper said scared.
"Dude, we got way bigger problems right now than plant thirst." Henry said shaking his head.
"What's up." I say setting my purse on the chair, and they both look at me.
"Oh good, you're here." Henry said still pacing.
"I mean, why would Ray want to marry a lady he's only known for three hours?" Henry asked.
"Maybe, she has a trampoline!" Jasper said, making Henry and I just look at him. Omar makes a sound, making Jasper jump away from the plant.
He goes to water Omar again, but then the plant spits on his face. I laugh a little, watching him scream from the mucus on his face.
"He globbered me!" Jasper screamed.
"Alright alright." Henry sighed walking towards him. "It's not that bad."
I watch him wipe off the mucus from Jasper's face, but then the door opened.
"Henry." Gwen said coming in. "Jasper."
"Hey Gwen." Jasper said nonchalantly.
"I'm here too." I sigh, sitting on the couch. Everyone ignores me while Gwen walks around the store with a box of something.
"Uhhh, Jasper. Why don't you go to the bathroom?" Henry said making me and Jasper look at each other confused.
"Cause I'm empty." Jasper answered simply.
"Then go into the bathroom and use your phone and listen to your Celine Dion playlist." He said to him, in which Jasper, screamed done and ran away. Henry then looked at me, and I got the message.
"And I'm going to go down to the Man Cave...right now." I say getting up and walking to the elevator.
I get to the Man Cave and see Schwoz putting something on Ray's head.
"What is going on?" I ask looking at the weird scene in front of me.
"I'm connecting this device to Ray's brain converting his memory impulses to the audio and video images so we can see his memories from yesterday when he first met the lady." Schwoz explained.
"When he first met the lady." Charlotte said in his accent, making me snicker.
We watch the memories and see him meeting Gwen. She hands him a box of muffins and we continue to watch. He eats the muffin and we see him begin to fall in love with Gwen. Schwoz covers my eyes, making me push his hand away.
"The muffins!" Charlotte screamed.
"Yes! What?" Schwoz asked.
"Gwen did something to the muffins!" I say following along.
"Yes! Like she must of added some chemical or something and it made Ray fall in love with her when she kissed him." She added.
Then Jasper walked in, his headphones in and him dancing. He must of been listening to his Celine Dion playlist.
"Jasper?" Charlotte asked. "I thought you were upstairs with Junk N' Stuff with Henry."
"Oh I was, but Henry wanted to talk to Gwen, so I..."
"GWEN!" Charlotte screamed, and then I realized that Henry was up with the lady that gave Ray a love potion to.
We all begin to run to the elevator.
"Wait! I'm running to!" Jasper yelled following us.
We got back up to Junk N' Stuff, and I see Henry eating the muffin.
"Henry! Don't swallow that muffin!" Charlotte screamed running towards him.
"Henry, it's dangerous!" I say, trying to get the muffin out of his mouth. Schwoz then hands me a vacuum, in which I try to suck up the muffin that was still in his mouth.
Gwen grabs my wrist pulling me away.
"Let him eat the muffin!" She screamed pushing me away. I grab his arm and we begin to pull him back and forth. Charlotte begins to help me to pull him away from Gwen.
Then, I instantly loss my grip and so does Gwen. He falls to the ground, hitting the table, and the statue instantly fell on his head, knocking him out cold.
"Oh my god!" Charlotte said.
"I need to give him mouth to mouth, resuscitation!" Jasper screamed, and I push him out of the way.
"I'll do it! I took a specialized class for this shit." I say cracking my neck, and kneeling down beside Henry.
"I need to kiss him!" Gwen said pushing me away from him.
"Yeah, well I'm his best friend!" I said pushing her away and begin giving him mouth to mouth. Then, Henry begin to breath again, coughing and sitting up. Jasper and I help him up.
"Hey, are you okay Henry?" I ask him, holding onto his bicep.
"I...I love you." He said and my mouth drops. Oh my god, I'm so stupid. The muffin.
We all look at each other, while Henry just stares at me in in awe.
He then begins to hug me instantly, making me stand there awkwardly.
"Great, see what you did?" Gwen said pointing at me.
"What I did?!" I yell. "I'm not the one bopping around here with a big box of mystical muffins!"
"Y/N, stop screaming." Henry said hugging me tighter. I sigh trying to get out of his grasp.
And as things couldn't get any worse, Ray walked in.
"I was just dreaming about the first time we met." Ray smiled, grabbing her hands. I roll my eyes, finally giving up and just letting Henry hug me.
As everyone talks, I couldn't help but realize how nice it was for Henry to hug me. Even though he was being forced to by a stupid muffin.
"Alright, everyone out!" Ray screamed, pushing us all out of Junk N' Stuff.
We get back to Henry's house, and he follows me around everywhere. I try to open the door, but he hugs me, squishing me against it. I sigh trying to open the door, and we eventually get in. I try to get away from him, but he continues to hug me.
I tell them that I'm going to the bathroom real quick. They nod and I begin to walk up the stairs.
"No, Henry. Stay. Stay." I point at him and he pouts. I go up the stairs, only to see him following me.
"Henry." I say, making him stop. I watch him and continue to walk up. I make it upstairs, but instantly feel a hand take mine.
I sigh turning around, only for him to push me lightly to the wall, not leaving much space between us.
"This is awfully close." I say trying to avoid his eyes.
"Y/N, please look at me." He said grabbing my hand that was between us. I look into his eyes and raise my eyebrows at him.
"I love you Y/N." He said giving me a small smile.
"No you don't Henry. It's just the muffin talking." I say.
"No it's not. I mean it is. But what I'm saying is I've loved you for years Y/N, and this muffin finally made me realize it." He said softly. I didn't know if I could trust what he was saying right now. Part of me wanted to, but the other parted of me knew that it was just the love potion.
I realize how really close we are, and my heart begins to beat rapidly. We've never really been this intimately close to each other before. I look into his eyes, seeing his eyes dart around to look at me.
His hand travels up my waist, and I take a deep breath. I feel his hand grab my waist, and he seems to get closer to me. His mouth goes to my ear.
"I really do love you, Y/N." He whispered, and he gives me a light kiss below my ear. I sigh, not knowing how to handle this. While I did enjoy this, I knew it was wrong. I push him off me lightly, looking at him.
"Do you love me back?" He asked and I sigh.
"How about I answer that another time, okay?" I answer sweetly and he nods smiling. "Can I pee now?"
He nods his head yes backing up from me. I walk to the bathroom and he follows.
"Alone Henry." I say and he nods again, making his way back downstairs, but not before he waves goodbye to me a few times.
I sigh shutting the door, leaning against it. I put my head into my hands, thinking about how messed up this actually was. My best friend that I've had a crush on for a while is now magically in love with me. I use the bathroom and make my way back downstairs.
Piper then comes running down the stairs, knocking me over a little running past me. "Jasper! Did you take my curling iron?"
"Yeah." Jasper said and it looked like she was about to murder him.
"Piper, leave him alone." I said walking over to them, seeing Henry on the couch. He pulls me down to sit next to him, and he puts his arm around my waist.
"When did you two get together?" Piper asked looking at us.
"We're not..." I begin and she begins to laugh.
"Y/N? Seriously? My brother? Come on now!" She yelled the last part and Henry instantly stood up.
"Hey! Do not make fun of my Y/N!" He said to her, making us all look up at him in shock.
"She could honestly do so much better, I mean, you've led her on this long. The whole friends thing was a whole lie." She said.
"Piper! You're hurting someone that I love!" Henry screamed, coming towards her.
"Yeah, well I'm just telling the truth, and everyone knows it!" She said. "I mean...it's been how many years and come on..." Piper went on, and I look at Henry. He then begins to twitch, needing support from the couch.
"Henry, are you okay?" I ask him, Piper still going on and on.
He falls to the ground, and Charlotte and I help him up. Piper runs up the stairs huffing.
"What, yeah, yeah. I think so." He said and then turned to me.
"Hey, Y/N I..."
"Please, no more hugging." I said putting my hands up.
"Hugging you? What are you talking about?"
"Wait, Henry. Are you in love with Y/N?" Charlotte asks him, and I see Henry begin to tense up.
"What, nooo." He said nervously, looking back and forth between me and Charlotte.
"Okay, this is awesome!" Charlotte screamed, pacing. "I think because Piper was making fun of you guys, it made Henry feel really angry."
"So?" I ask.
"So, when you feel strong emotions, it releases chemicals into your brain." She explained.
"Ohhh okay. So when Henry experienced anger, it drove out his feelings of love?" Jasper said.
"Yeah, I think that's what happened." She said.
"So now, all we have to make Ray insanely mad, so he'll fall out of love with Gwen." Henry started, and we all nod.
"But, how are you going to make him mad enough?"
"You could pick a fight with him!" Jasper screamed, pointing at Henry.
"Yeah!" Henry agreed.
"Come on, Ray could kill you. You can't pick a fight with Ray!" I said nodding my head.
"Well, one of us have to do it." Henry said, and we all said not it, except him.
After the fight with Ray and getting the love potion off, Henry takes me back home. We stand by my door and he speaks up.
"Do I wanna know what I said today?" He asked looking at me. I sigh, looking at the ground.
"Nothing that you meant." I say messing with my shirt. Henry then grabs my hand, making me look up at him.
"Actually Y/N, I've wanted to say this for awhile, but I guess I never had the courage to actually do it." He said looking down at our hands. I look at him, trying to understand what he was trying to say.
"Charlotte told me what I said today, and I have to say Y/N, it's true." He said not looking at me.
"What's true?" I ask.
"That I do love you, and I have for awhile now." He said.
I smile lightly. I walk closer to him, putting my hand on his cheek, making him look up at me.
"I'm so glad you said that, because I love you too Henry." I say, and his eyes widen. But before I could say anything else, his lips meet mine gently. I melt into the kiss, holding onto his cheek and his bicep.
He pulls away slowly, resting his forehead on mine. He lets out a small laugh.
"I've wanted to do that for awhile."
