Ichinose stared as Zanxus approached him with a spiked club. That shiny spiked club should do the trick, wouldn't it? Kill him and all.... Maybe the club will even hit so hard that his head gets detached from his body and flies to the other side of the arena.... Oh! Or maybe the spikes will tear out his stomach and let his organs spill to the ground!
"ICHINOSE KAZUYA YOU BETTER GET UP NOW OR I AM REALLY GOING TO TORTURE YOU AND SEND YOU ON YOUR WAY TO HELL IF YOU AREN'T ALREADY DEAD AFTER THIS!" Ichinose looked to the side to see Fubuki shouting at him. Some of the audience seemed shocked at the Ice Boy's actions. But at least this made Ichinose realize what he just thought and made him shake his head.
'I should be thinking how to survive! Not die!' Ichinose thought and slowly attempted to get up.
Meanwhile at the audience's seat, Fubuki went back to his seat fuming. He was cursing in all kinds of languages.
"A-Ano... Fubuki...?" Endou asked, putting a hand on Fubuki's shoulder.
"Damn! Ichinose! I am so going to kick your ass after this. What should I do? Drive metal spears into your skin? Or should I burn you in the fire and scatter your ashes in front of the arena? I know... I'll just gouge your eyes out and cut off your fingers! Then I'll stuff those fingers of yours into your eye sockets! Perfect! Five fingers for each eye socket! Then I'm going to..." Fubuki muttered to himself while chuckling, a sadistic smirk on his face. Endou gulped and decided that it wasn't a good time to disturb the silverette.
"I-Ichinose-kun..." Aki muttered with her hands together. She stared at the arena with tears in her eyes. She was probably thinking about how much pain and suffering Ichinose must be in...
"Ah! He moved! He's getting up! He's finally getting up!" Megane exclaimed.
"But Zanxus is getting closer too..." Fuyuka said pointing out the bad part. Indeed, Zanxus was closing in. Luckily, Ichinose was getting up. Ichinose took out his dagger and stumbled to his feet, wincing in pain.
"Well, well! The little bean sprout is getting up!" Zanxus exclaimed, insulting Ichinose's height. (A/N: D. Gray man anyone??)
"B-Bean sprout?! K-Kisama (Y-You)!!" Ichinose exclaimed and gripped his dagger tighter.
"Oh? The bean sprout just got angry!" Zanxus exclaimed and laughed. Ichinose narrowed his eyes and attacked. He ran towards Zanxus in a horrifying speed. "You're a 100 years too early to take me head on!"
Ichinose ignored that comment and attacked, slicing and cutting Zanxus everywhere. He also stabbed Zanxus with his daggers.
FLASHBACK
Ichinose fell to the ground, panting completely exhausted. "I... I c-can't... I.. c-can't go... on.. any.. more..!" Ichinose panted.
"Get up!" Fubuki ordered. Ichinose had no choice but to get up onto his feet. "Now let me tell you this. You can never defeat Zanxus if you take him head on! He is much much more experienced than you. He has been in the dark games for as long a I can remember. He can easily knock you off your feet and send you flying considering his strength and size. If it was me, I would try to injure him in multiple places first. That way, you can easily immobilize him and then go in for the kill. But you can also kill him by attacking from the side or behind,"
Ichinose bit his lip. "Do I really have to kill him?"
Fubuki sighed. "I understand that it is hard for you since you've never killed someone before. Heck! You might've never thought there would be anything like this happening in your life! But... If you want to survive, this is the only way. If you want to live to see the next day, then killing someone is inevitable. This is, after all, how it goes in the Dark Games. Only the strongest will prevail. The strong will feast on the weak. If you don't want to be feasted on, then turn yourself into one of the strong! You might really never have to kill someone, that it if you aren't in the Dark Games. But that is how our fate goes. You were chosen to be in the Dark Games. Therefore, you have to kill, fight! If you don't, then it's the end... You will die. You might be thinking that it's alright for you to die, that the people of the Dark Games wouldn't care... But what about your friends and family? Are you willing to let them suffer the pain and grief of your death?"
"No. I don't want them to ever suffer because of me," Ichinose said looking down.
"Then fight. Fight with your life on the line! Destroy your opponents and you will see the light of tomorrow!" Fubuki said. Ichinose then looked up with a determined look. He was still against the idea of having to kill someone but he knew it was the only way. "Now attack!"
With a battle cry, Ichinose charged.
END OF FLASHBACK
Zanxus bellowed in pain. "YOU BASTARD! I'M GOING TO RIP OUT YOUR SPINE!!!"
Ichinose smirked. "Thanks for the great idea!!" Ichinose then drove the dagger into Zanxus, right next to his spine. Zanxus gasped and whirled around. Ichinose gritted his teeth. Almost there! Ichinose then attacked as fast as he could. Zanxus, who couldn't keep up with his movements, stumbled behind to avoid getting stabbed. In the end, he fell down and pushed the dagger that was already lodged into his back further in. Zanxus writhed in pain on the ground. The audience cheered. This was the first time they saw Zanxus being defeated by someone a few times smaller than him.
Ichinose flipped Zanxus around. Ichinose gulped as he proceeded on what he was going to do next. He took a dagger and cut a deep gash from the top of Zanxus back to the bottom. It was a little bit hard as Zanxus kept on struggling. Of course, who wouldn't? Ichinose then used the dagger that was already lodged into his back as a crowbar and pried out Zanxus' spine.
Zanxus let out one more cry of pain before falling limp onto the ground, unconscious. Ichinose then slowly got up from Zanxus and stumbled behind to see what he had done to his opponent. Ichinose's shirt and pants was splattered with Zanxus' blood. Everyone cheered. But Ichinose's eyes were filed with fear and horror. What had he done...? If- If Zanxus dies, he will become an offical murderer...! With a shaky breath, Ichinose tested Zanxus' pulse to see if he was still alive. Luckily and thankfully, there was pulse but it was getting weaker and weaker.
"AND THE WINNER OF THIS MATCH IS ICHINOSE KAZUYA!!!! THAT WAS A GREAT MATCH! A SHOCKING TURN OF TABLES!!" the speaker announced. The audience cheered. Some were shocked in disbelief, some were cursing as they lost their bet and some were cheering loudly.
"It's... It's finally over... I.. I won..." Ichinose muttered to himself as tears began to pool in his eyes. A tear slid down the sides of his cheeks. It stung badly when the salty tears touched the wounds on his face. He then noticed how tired and in pain he was. But it's finally over...! He had survived! But.. He had inflicted tremendous pain onto others... Ichinose stared at the limp body of Zanxus one more time before it was take away by the paramedics.
Ichinose was then escorted to the infirmary for his wounds to be treated. Meanwhile, the other human representatives were cheering happily.
"Yay! He won!" Endou exclaimed.
"U-Ureshi (I-I'm so happy)..!" Aki exclaimed, her tears pouring down from her face.
"He managed to pull through..." Mark said, a smile forming on his face.
"He sure did, my bro, he sure did," Dylan said with a smile.
"Let's see... Alright then! That's all the matches for today, people! Please exit the arena through the doors! We shall continue with our matched tomorrow! Thank you and have a nice day!" the speaker said and everyone rose rom their seats.
The representatives of the human race returned to their rooms. All of them were waiting for the return of Ichinose. Those who are injured will always get treated first before being sent back to their rooms. Like the last time, Fubuki was operated on first before sent back to the room.
After a while, Ichinose entered the room. Almost instantly, everyone crowded around him. He had bandages and plasters here and there.
"Ichinose! That was awesome!" "You're amazing!" "I'm so glad you're alive!"
"Minna (Everyone)..." Ichinose said with a smile. Just then, Fubuki walked in front of Ichinose. "Fubu-"
Ichinose was cut off by a punch in the gut. Ichinose coughed a few times. Everyone stared in shock.
"This," Fubuki said with a glare. "Is for spacing out and waiting for Zanxus to come and kill you,"
"Gomen (Sorry)-"
"You're lucky you won. Otherwise, I'm really going to have to gouge out your eyeballs and chop of your fingers and the stuff your fingers into your empty eye sockets!" Fubuki exclaimed crossing his arms. Everyone's jaw dropped to the ground. But they doubted Fubuki will really do that. Then again, Fubuki did cruelly kill Villone... Fubuki sighed and suddenly pulled Ichinose into a hug. This greatly shocked everyone.
"Good job... You had me worried there for a second... Don't do that again, okay?!" Fubuki whispered loud enough or everyone to hear. Fubuki then pulled away, a blush visible on his face. "Nothing happened! Got that?!"
Everyone just laughed. Ichinose finally broke out of his shocked state.
"I'll try," Ichinose said with a smile. Fubuki sighed and exited the room. "M-Matte (W-Wait)...!"
Ichinose followed Fubuki out of the room. The others looked at each other before going back to what they were doing.
MEANWHILE IN THE CORRIDOR
"Fubuki!" Ichinose exclaimed and grabbed the silverette by the shoulder. Fubuki then turned around and stared into Ichinose's eyes.
"A-Ano.... Arigatou (Thank you)... For everything. For training me and caring for me..." Ichinose said. "Hontoni arigatou (Thank you very much), Fubuki!" Ichinose bowed a 90 degree bow.
"Shirou dayo (It's Shirou)," Fubuki said. Ichinose looked up.
"...Huh..?"
"Don't 'huh' me! I said it's Shirou!" Fubuki exclaimed with a playful smile. Ichinose smiled.
"I got it... Shirou," Ichinose said with smile.
