Kai had Jo's arm in his hand dragging her far enough from everyone else and the hospital with me following closely behind I have no idea what I'm thinking helping Kai is the wrong thing to do definitely but I can't help the people who don't give a shit if I die or not and honestly they threatened me first so it would just be wrong not to retaliate
Kai shoves Jo forward and she almost trips "mind keeping an eye out" he says to me and I force a small smile "I guess not" I swallow hard before standing in front of Jo making sure none of those idiots walk up and try something stupid "look at those pretty planets, all twinkly and bright, oh Jossette you would not believe how sick I am of eclipses"
Kai says making his way towards her "let's just get this over with" Jo says and Kai smiles like a kid in a candy store taking out a knife and slicing his hand "you know if you think I didn't spend the last 18 years in solitary thinking about how you screwed me over lasts time, your wrong... so if this is just another set up
I'll rip out something more important than a spleen, a tongue or a heart" he says and Jo tenses up slightly taking a deep breath "so any closing remarks?" He adds god they definitely have some issues "your a parasite, you killed the people I loved you shoved a hunting knife in my gut you destroyed my life now I'm gonna destroy yours"
She says shocking me a bit sense I definitely expected her to sound more scared "oh and Lila I expected more from you" she says and I scoff "doesn't everyone" I say and she holds her hand out Kai takes it cutting it with the knife "I guess we'll see won't we" Kai whispers as she hisses at the pain before they hold hands Jo starts to chant before Kai joins in
I see Luke walking up and he makes Jo stop and fall unconscious on the ground before I race over to him holding his wrist and taking some of his magic making him scream "Lila! What are you doing!" He screams in pain at me and I murmur "sorry Luke" before he lifts his hand and makes me fall on the floor not yet unconscious but very close
I couldn't find the strength to move just to watch as Luke approached Kai "what the hell did you just do" I watched Kai semi scream "oh I just gave my big sister and Lila a little magic knock on the head but don't worry they'll be fine because you're gonna merge with me" as soon as he said that I found my voice "Luke step away from the psycho"
I manage to utter weakly as Kai smiles at him trying to hold back a laugh "you can't call me that anymore remember?" He smirks at me and my eyes widen "the things you hear while your passed out on a gurney" he says pointing to his ear and I try to stand up failing Luke looks at me then back at Kai "I'll ask about that later" Luke mumbles Kai starts to laugh in his face

Kai places his hands on the sides of Luke's face still laughing as Luke slaps them away angrily and Kai holds his hands up backing away in a mocking surrender "you wanna merge with me I hate to break it to you little brother but we're not twins alright that's not how this is supposed to work" Kai says looking over at me for a split second then back at Luke
"That's true but we share the same parents the same bloodline and thanks to your time out in the magic penalty box were the same age so it is definitely a Hail Mary and maybe it won't work, but I'd do anything to save my sisters life so.." he says taking out a knife and cutting his palm "we're going to give it the old college try" Luke finishes tossing the knife aside and extending his hand to Kai
"Thanks but I'm gonna pass" Kai says walking back slowly before Luke uses a spell drag him back towards him he grabs his chin forcing him to look him in the eye "what's wrong? You scared to play chicken with someone that might actually beat you?" Luke mocks as Kai shoves his hand down "fine, it's your funeral" Kai says taking Luke's bloody hand as he does the same
"Luke don't" I say weakly and he looks over at me "sorry Lila I have to" he grumbles before turning back to Kai they start chanting and soon enough a light starts to shine on them "stop!" I cry out finally being strong enough to get on my knees the lights around us exploding as they start to get black veins on there bodies
I finally see Jo get up she looks at me fear in her eyes as she sees mine that are swollen in tears "Luke No!" She screams there eyes go completely white and my heart rate speeds up and I finally get the strength to stand up I know Jo is screaming but I can't hear her I'm to busy in my own my mind in fact so much so I can see everything in slow motion
I see both of them loose consciousness letting go of each other and falling down in opposite directions then I realized I don't want either one of them to die. Luke is one of my best friends and Kai well I don't know what he is to me but I don't want him gone that's for sure I see Jo get up running towards Luke so I make my way to Kai
I crouch down besides him "Kai what did you do?" I ask my voice shaky as my knees fall to the ground and the tears that were welled up in my eyes finally start to fall I let out a loud sob as I look over at Luke "what's happening?" I ask choking on my own tears "only the strongest one gets to wake up" is all I can hear her say I see damon walk up to her ignoring me and Kai
I place Kai's head in my lap moving the leaves from his hair "please tell me it didn't work and you both get to wake up" I whispered between sobs I know that Jo was screaming at Damon explaining to him what had happened and how it was his fault but I don't know exactly what she said I was still to caught up in my head
I didn't even know how hard I was crying until I felt someone's thumb brush the tears off my face making me open my eyes that I never new I had closed. I looked down to see Kai smiling at me softly no trace of a cocky psychopath anywhere in his expression and I smile back wiping off my tears as we help each other up
I hugged him tightly once we were up then pulled back the thought of Kai being the one who got up barley registering in my head. wait if Kai got up then that means Luke... I turned to look at Jo crying on top of Luke's lifeless body I cover my mouth the tears coming back like a never ending waterfall I let out a loud sob
Loosing my balance only to have Kai hold me by the hips to keep me from falling "I killed him" I muttered and Kai looked at me confused "I took some of his magic before you merged" I whispered sobbing uncontrollably and shaking my head repeatedly "how could I do this!" I cry out falling down
Kai said something I think but I still couldn't hear anything and my vision was a haze of white the tears didn't make it any better next thing I know Kai walks back over to me helping me up and carrying me bridal style somewhere unknown to me

Kai was holding me close as I cried into his shoulder on my couch "I helped you kill my best friend" I muttered over and over again as he stroked my hair "it's not your fault it's mine" he kept whispering over and over again it's been at least an hour sense Luke died and Kai had walked with me in his arms to my cabin
We've been here for at least 40 minutes whispering the same things back and forth as I choke on my tears and he comforts me "stop please just stop" he whimpers and I look up to see tears welling up in his eyes
Wait tears?

Tears start rolling down his eyes and I sit up he closes his eyes "what's happening?" He murmurs and I hold his shoulders "why are you crying?" I ask softly my tears suddenly stopped like they were never there "I feel bad" he whispers before breaking down and hugging me
I hug back surprised and confused but willing to hold him anyways. I wrap my arms securely around his neck "why are you sad?" I finally ask after 5 minutes of him crying into my shoulder in silence "I'm not its Luke" he mumbles and I pull back forcing him to look me in the eye "what?" I ask as he nods
"His characteristics, who he is, they're part of me now" he whispers to me with tired eyes "you have Luke's sympathy" I murmur in awe and he nods slowly "I left Liv all alone" he whispers tears swelling up in his eyes once more I quickly wiped them of with my thumbs "let's make a deal" I say a little above a whisper
His head snaps up and he looks at me confused "we're both going to try to make each other feel better and if I make you feel better first you have to promise not to kill your family and keep it" I say "and if I make you feel better first...... you have to promise not to leave me" he whispers and I look him the eyes
"You don't want me to leave?" I ask and he shakes his head lazily then leans in close to my ear "you're the only one who will ever understand me, I want you to stay" he mumbles softly his lips brushing against my ear making me shiver before he lowers his head ever so slightly and kisses the base of my neck
Slowly and gently working his way up "K-Kai this is serious" I stutter and moan out quietly he raises his head until his lips are brushing against mine "sorry, I can't help it" he whispers before bitting on my bottom lip gently instantly clouding my thoughts with lust
