Hanna, Alison, Emily, Aria, Spencer and Lily were making their way from Emily's house to the park nearby while trying to decide what they would all be going as for Halloween that Friday
"So what do you think, Em?" Alison asked her "Should Hanna be "Cute Britney" or "Bald Britney"?"
"If she wants to be, Cute Britney." Emily replied nervously
"Aria?" Alison asked
"She's not gonna shave her head." Aria chuckled
Alison turned to ask Spencer too but Spencer was still typing away furiously on her phone, like she had been doing all afternoon "Spencer, you're worse than my father."
"Sorry." Spencer blushed "But I did just procure nine votes from the debate team."
The girls smiled at her proudly but Hanna just looked confused "Wait, that's a good thing, right?"
"Yeah. And "procured" means to obtain with special effort. And "obtain" means to-"
Lily decided to cut Spencer off before she could go on explaining even more confusing vocabulary "Are you gonna recite the entire dictionary?"
The girls all laughed at her comment but Hanna was still looking at Spencer, waiting for her opinion on her Halloween costume "I think that Hanna should be who she wants to be." Spencer shrugged
"Fine." Alison sighed "But you better wear the tightest skinny pants you can fit your big butt into."
Hanna looked hurt at Alison's comment but didn't say anything and they were saved from an awkward silence by Emily's phone ringing
"Is that Ben?" Lily asked her and Emily rolled her eyes. Emily and Ben had been going out a while and in Lily's opinion Ben was way too clingy and uptight but if Emily was happy then it didn't really matter
"He's all about me going as a sexy cop for Halloween." Emily said "But I'm thinking Indian girl." The girls were interrupted by loud rock music playing and to their left Noel Kahn pulled up in his car with some of his friends from the American football team
"What a shame." Alison crossed her arms, staring at them "All that testosterone and not a sheep in sight."
"Careful, Alison." Noel chuckled "I get your jokes, but someday you might meet a guy who doesn't." His eyes looked across the group and landed on Aria who was next to Lily "So am I gonna see you at my party on Friday?"
Aria looked surprised that Noel was even talking to her "Um, I didn't know we were invited."
"You're Ali and Lily's friends, right?" Louis, who was in the passenger seat said. The car behind the boys honked and Noel grinned "Come prepared to be scared." Were his final words before he and his buddies drove off
The other 4 girls gasped excitedly when they were out of sight "Did we just get invited to Noel Kahn's Halloween bash?"
"I'm a little embarrassed by how excited you girls are." Lily chuckled, she and Ali had been to countless of Noel's parties and she was slightly worried that the other girls acting immature might embarrass them at the party
"It's just a party." Ali added. Her and Lily had always been the more mature ones in the group which meant occasionally they had to deal with the others getting too excited over little things
"Ali, it's not just a party." Spencer said
"It's the party." Aria finished
Alison sighed "You're right. And I'm happy we'll be there together." The road was now empty so they crossed it to the other pavement
"We should get ready together." Emily suggested
"Spence, you've got the biggest bedroom. Let's have it there." Alison said
"Is that cool?" Spencer asked
"Yeah." Hanna said
"Okay. Hold up." Emily stopped. She was staring at the creepy abandoned house in front of us, that house had been empty for a decade and it was definitely one of the creepiest spots in Rosewood "I think there's somebody in there."
"Are you just trying to scare us?" Lily asked with a scoff, she didn't get scared easily and hated it when people tried to make her
"No, I swear, I just saw someone in the window." Emily said
"Well, kids go in there all the time around Halloween." Spencer said "It's like a rite passage in this town."
"I wish they'd just tear this place down already." Aria shuddered "Every time I walk by here I get the creeps."
"It's just an ugly old house, Aria." Alison shrugged. She and Lily shared an annoyed look as the girls continued to stare at the house in fear
"I can't explain it. I just..." Aria sighed "I feel like something really bad happened here."
"There's nobody in there. Come on." Lily said and they kept walking. That afternoon Alison had to go shopping for her Halloween costume and while she did, Lily went out to dinner with her parents and brother
The day after at school all anyone was talking about was the upcoming Halloween party, well everyone apart from Ben it seemed
"Hey," Alison caught up to Lily on their way to lunch "Did you send me a text last night?"
"No, why?" She asked
"Don't worry about it," She shrugged but Lily could tell something was off about her best friend, she let it slide for the moment and they approached the other girls at their lunch table
"Why didn't you tell us?" Hanna was leaning across the table staring at Emily
"Tell us what?" Alison asked as she and Lily sat down
"Hi, you guys." Mona came over to their table and Lily rolled her eyes at Mona's desperate attempts to join in with them
"If you ignore it, it will go away." Alison said and they knew she was talking about Mona. Mona looked upset and left in a hurry
"Ben's telling people we had sex." Emily explained
"What?" Lily took her feet off the table "And he's still breathing because?"
Emily hesitated before answering "It's true." The girls all looked at her in shock
"I can't believe Emily lost her vee before any one of us did." Hanna whispered
"Why is that so hard to believe?" Emily asked, obviously offended
"I didn't mean anything by it, I just thought you were a prude." Hanna shrugged
"Shy on the streets... Sexy in the sheets." Alison was grinning at Emily "I knew there was something different about you."
This was the day their lives began to fall apart, this was the night Aria, Alison and Lily found out Aria's dad was cheating on her mum
That was also the first time Jason Dilaurentis really saw Lily Jackson
He had always known her, she was Ali's best friend and spent all of her free time at their house. But tonight he was filming for himself, Garrett and Ian's little N.A.T club
He was dressed in a black hoodie to hide his face and was walking around Rosewood late at night when he heard someone singing. He stopped in his tracks and looked around him to try and find where the voice was coming from
He found it was coming from a rooftop near him, sat on the roof was a brunette girl dressed in a leather jacket and he recognised that to be Lily Jackson
He was about to call up to her and ask what the hell she was doing on a rooftop when he heard the voices coming from inside. He could hear the shouting and yelling and suddenly it all made sense, she was singing to avoid the fighting, she was trying to avoid the pain.
And from that day on Jason Dilaurentis saw her in a new light
The next day was Noel's halloween party, after school the girls all grabbed their things and headed to Spencer's house to get ready
"Hey." Aria called as she walked into Spencer's bedroom
"Hey." Emily said and they noticed she was still wearing her clothes from earlier "Where's your costume?"
"I'm just not really feeling like going to a party, but I wanted to see you guys all dressed up." Aria said and Lily and Alison shared a knowing look, she had found her dad cheating, of course she wasn't going to party
"What's this about, Aria?" Alison asked smugly and Lily nudged her harshly with her elbow
"Oh, my gosh!" Spencer gasped and jumped away from the window "You guys! There's somebody out there." The girls all rushed to the window and stood in Spencer's bedroom was someone wearing a creepy costume with a mask covering their face, staring up at her bedroom window
"He's watching us." Emily whispered
"Oh, my God. Who is that?" Hanna asked and the masked figure walked away
"I'm so creeped out." Hanna shuddered in fear
"Whoever it was, they're gone." Lily said and they pulled the curtains closed
"That was freaky." Hanna said
"It's Halloween, Hanna. Don't you love a good scare?" Alison asked Lily stared at her best friend, Alison's calm nature about this was beginning to make her suspicious but she was saved by the doorbell ringing
"It's probably the pizza guy." Spencer said and the doorbell rang again
"Hurry up before he leaves." Alison said
"I'll go with you, Spence," Lily offered
"Me too,"
"Same," Emily, Spencer, Hanna and Lily made their way down the stairs and sure enough it was just the pizza guy. They fished out money from Spencer's mother's purse and paid him but before they could go back up the stairs there was a knock at the side glass doors
Lily pulled them open and Jason Dilaurentis was stood there holding a jacket
"What are you doing here?" Lily asked him
"Ali forgot her jacket and asked me to bring it," He said and passed it to her "What are you dressed up as?"
"Sexy ninja," She shrugged
"Nice," Jason swallowed harshly, she was 15 for fucks sake! So how did she look so ridiculously hot in that costume?!
"See you later, Jason," Lily said
"Bye," He called and walked back home, furiously trying to push the image of her in that unbelievable hot costume out of his mind
Lily and the other 3 went back upstairs and Aria told them she had ultimately decided to come to the party tonight so they drove to Aria's house to finish getting ready and then the 6 of them drove to Noel Kahn's house
"Is the doctor in?" Alison called when Noel saw them arriving
"Actually, I'm a gynaecologist." He grinned
"Ooh."
"Care to make an appointment?" He asked and Lily didn't miss the way Aria was gazing at him "Hot chick," He pointed at Ali "Britney," That was Hanna "Sexy ninja," Lily of course "Hot witch," Aria blushed at being called hot "Hot Indian chick," Emily grinned "And, uh..."
"Mary Queen of Scots." Spencer finished for him
"He doesn't know who that is." Alison teased Noel
"Does anybody?" Lily added
"She was born to be queen, but her cousin stole the throne, and then she was accused of treason and her family had her executed." She explained and the song suddenly changed
"It's my song, let's hit the dance floor!" Ali cheered
"I might have to steal your hot friend for a minute," Noel teased, looking at Lily who rolled her eyes "If I offer you a shot will you say yes?"
"Of course I will," She grinned and followed him inside. As promised Noel poured them each a shot of vodka which they both downed
"Damn girl," Noel whistled "Never took you for a drinker,"
"Well clearly you don't know me," She teased
"Maybe I'd like to," He grinned and stepped closer to her
"Slow down, boy," She laughed "Besides, we both know Aria's into you,"
"Yeah," He said "It's just a shame that I'm into her really hot friend,"
"Charmer," She chuckled "If you want to impress me you might have to do better than that,"
"Noted," He winked and they both suddenly looked across the room when there was a loud disruption over the music
"Who are they?" Lily asked
"My brother and his friends," Noel sighed. In that group Lily noticed was Jason, they were on the two sofas shouting and talking loudly over the booming music, obviously stoned. Jason could feel someone's eyes on him and glanced around, noticing it was Lily
She quickly looked away and focused back on Noel, completely unaware Jason's eyes were glued to her body and how it looked in her tight costume
"Who's the hot chick with your brother?" Ian Thomas nudged Eric, he had obviously spotted Lily too. How could he not? She was one of the hottest girls at this party.
"Lily Jackson," Eric answered
"They a thing?" Garrett asked him
"Don't think so, he's into her but he's told me she likes to play hard to get," Eric explained
"Hot," Ian whistled and the boys laughed. "You thinking what I'm thinking, Garrett?" Garrett also glanced at Jason and he knew what their plan was with her
"Dude, she's 15," Jason said
"So?" Ian shrugged
"I know her, she'd kill you," Jason said
"You're a bit protective of her, Jason," Eric teased
"You know Alison's a fearless bitch, but Lily's her best friend and even Alison's scared of her," Jason explained "Just leave 'er alone,"
"Alright chill," Ian laughed
"Looks like your brother's getting lucky," Garrett nudged Eric and they watched Noel and Lily. Noel had his hand on her waist and they were chest to chest, he was leaning down towards her but before their lips touched Lily leaned up and whispered something in his ear before walking away with a proud look
"Damn," Ian laughed and they watched Noel chuckle to himself
Lily went to rejoin the party outside for a while and after about an hour the band switched to play a slower song which she found boring so she went to the bathroom
On her way out she passed some of the older boys and had just walked past them when someone grabbed her arm
"Watch it, perv," She glared up at Ian Thomas
"Calm down, sexy," He laughed
"God, you're disgusting," She spat
"You wear a tight outfit like that, you can't expect me to keep my hands to myself," He grinned
"That sounds a lot like a you problem," She snapped "Now leave me the fuck alone,"
"Or what?" He asked
"Or I'll tell Melissa that her so called "loving" boyfriend tried to get with a 15 year old," She threatened
"You think she'll believe you?"
"Oh I do. See, I knew I would have to pass you creeps on my way back out so I started recording on my phone," She pulled it out of her pocket "So stay away from me unless you want Melissa to receive a very interesting message from me,"
"You're a bitch," Ian shook his head
"I am," She smirked "So don't cross me," She glared at him again and headed outside as she got onto the porch her phone beeped so she pulled it out again

Lily looked over at the other 4 and by their nervous looks she knew they had also received the same message. The 5 of them hurriedly made their way out of Noel's party and Spencer guided them to the address since she was the only one who seemed to know the streets
"We're here," Spencer said and they realised they were at the old abandoned house
"I am not going in there." Hanna whispered
"No. This is some kind of joke." Spencer said "She's not in there."
"What if it's not a joke?" Lily asked and they walked towards the building. Emily opened the front door and they stepped into the dark house "Ali?"
"This isn't funny anymore, Ali!" Aria called
"Alison!" Spencer shouted but there was still no answer so they walked further inside. Behind them they heard a clatter but when they turned around, no one was there"It was just the wind. Come on."
They stood at the bottom of the staircase and could hear floorboards creaking upstairs. Emily bravely decided to go up first
But there was no one upstairs so they had to keep looking
Emily pushed open one of the doors "Ali?" They could see a silhouette on the wall and screamed but it was only the shadow of a suit
The next door they tried was locked and the room after that was full of creepy dolls. At the end of the corridor was another door that was locked but they could see a shadow through the gap under the door
The door was pulled open and Alison poked her head out
"Ali?"
"Did you see him?" She asked fearfully "Is he still here?"
"Who?" Emily asked
"Come on." She opened the door wider and they followed her into the room which she locked behind them again "I don't know who it is."
"Ali, what is going on?" Lily asked her
"He grabbed me at the party. I tried to scream, but he's got a knife." Ali explained
"For real?"
"He said he brought me here to kill me." She continued
"I'm calling 911." Hanna said and pulled out her phone
"He locked me in a closet, and when he opened it, I just freaked on him. I've been hiding up here ever since." Ali said
"I'm not getting a signal." Hanna said
Emily crouched down to peer out into the hallway through the keyhole "There's nobody out there."
"Ali, it's probably just somebody trying to scare you." Aria said
"Look, I'm telling you. It's that guy that was watching us at Spencer's. He's wearing the same costume." Alison said
"No... we have to get out of here now!" Lily cried
"No! I'm not going anywhere until we know that freak's gone!" Hanna shouted
"Look, I called you from the hallway, I know I've got a signal there." Alison said
"Hell no!" Lily grabbed Ali's hand
"Lily-"
"I'm going out there with you," She said and turned to the other girls "Lock the door behind us."
"Are you sure?" Emily asked as the pair stepped out of the room
"No, Ali, Lily, don't." Aria said
"Don't open this door for anyone but us." Alison ordered "Lock the door." The door shut and locked behind them, leaving them in the hallway alone
Lily pulled out her phone to call 911 but was stopped by someone grabbing her from behind and shoving her against the wall which made her scream
It was the masked figure from earlier
"Help!" Ali screamed and whoever it was threw her against the wall.
"Ali!" Lily shouted and kicked the figure from behind. They rounded on her and pulled out a knife, she screamed and ducked when they lunged for her head
"Lily!" The figure grabbed her by the neck and pinned her to the wall, raising the knife again but Alison grabbed their raised arm and the figure let go of Lily to lunge at Alison
Alison moved in time to avoid the knife and she kneed the person in the gut. Lily kicked the person down to the ground and grabbed Alison before they sprinted out of the hallway
Lily dragged Alison outside "We have to call 911!"
"Lily-"
"The others are still in there with him! Who even is that?!" She shouted
"Lily!" Alison shouted over her and snatched her phone out of her hands "It was a hoax! A joke! A prank! All of it!"
"What?" Lily asked
"The person under the mask was Noel," Alison explained "We decided to prank you guys,"
"Prank?!" Lily shouted "That was not a prank Ali! That was too far! I thought we were going to die!"
"It was funny," Ali said
"Maybe to you!" She shouted "God I thought I could trust you!"
"You can,"
"Not anymore!" She argued "I'm done with this, I'm leaving!"
"Lily stay here!" Alison called after her
"I'm not your little bitch, Alison!" Lily shouted "So leave me alone!" She stormed away from her so-called best friend and back to Noel Kahn's party although she had no intention of staying anymore
"Lily," Noel grinned when he saw her
"How could you?!" She snapped "I know you an Ali probably think that was funny but you took it too far!"
"Lil, I've been here the whole time," He looked confused "I was meant to help Ali prank you guys but my brother took the car so I didn't get to leave and he only just got back,"
"So it wasn't you in the mask?" She asked
"If someone else was there it wasn't me," He said "Are you okay?"
"Yeah," Suddenly the air around her seemed thinner like she couldn't breathe "I think I should go home,"
"Didn't Spencer drive you?" He asked and she suddenly realised she had no way of getting home "Y'know what, I'll drive you," She nodded thankfully and followed him out to his car
She pulled out her phone and quickly sent a text to Ali
To: Ali
Noel wasn't behind the mask! He was still at the party! Someone was really trying to kill us.
