Hadrian quickly stole a kiss from Tom's lips and turned to the door "We better get sorted, breakfast is in 5 minutes." The two of them sighed, another day filled with things to do, maybe even places to see.
They went down to the dining area and were greeted by scared children, some cautiously glancing, others completely avoiding them. Hadrian was confused at this, he looked at his friend who had a sinister smirk on his cold looking face. This was the Dark Lord he was told about in his first year, at least Hadrian now knew why it was like that.
To him Tom was calculative of his actions, being wary of those around him was a norm in this place 'it was do or die' this was how he acted in Hogwarts as well, no one to trust, only allies and enemies. Hadrian understood and respected his ways, he just wondered what went wrong.
"What did you do to them. They look like they've seen a ghost." the shorter boy asked, as they sat down "Nothing they didn't deserve." Hadrian hummed in acceptance. This was after all the future dark lord "Don't get too over board then." Hadrian wasn't one for violence, he only did so in defense or when they deserved it, slurping the puddle in their bowls.
He grimaced at the taste, he didn't know how Tom survived with something like this.
Both of them were sick of the food here, it was almost inedible. They were given seeds to plant and harvest vegetables from but they clearly did not know what they were doing, Hadrian looked up from his 'food' "Have you ever gardened before." His roommate shook his head "Guess this'll be amusing." With that declaration Tom knew he f**ked up.
Harry's POV
Today is a weekday, you know what that means, chores, and if we're doing them I'd rather do the one I know best besides it would improve the food 'Honestly did they expect it to grow well with how careless they are?'
"I really don't know how you could do this outside right now." I looked at Tom with a raised brow "Why wouldn't I?" He raised an eyebrow back "For one it's a bit too chilly for you to be out here, two you're going to get sick, finally I think the gardener could take care of this." "You've seen our food, It's almost inedible the least we could do would be to make the vegetables a bit more digestible."
A snake from the bush hissed at us "Speaker, I can help you with this." The snake looked quite lovely "If you wouldn't mind may I know your name?" The snaked looked at me in shock "Another speaker! I am truly blessed, The name given to me by the other speaker beside you was Egle."
"So you can speak to snakes too." I forgot that Tom was right there, I laughed nervously "I'm not really sure how to control it, It's just automatic to me." I am so screwed "Why didn't you tell me." I stood up and turned to face him "Well I actually forgot." Egle just laughed at us "You hatchlings are very entertaining. Taller hatchling and shorter hatchling act like old couple."
Tom tried to hold in his laugh "Don't you dare laugh. I am a growing boy." Tom continued to laugh, his hands were at his knees "Oh Hadrian you should just be happy with your height, It's not that bad." "You're just unusually tall okay. Geez you should try being short once in a while."
We finished up at somewhere near lunch so we decided its best to clean ourselves before eating, Both of us bid farewell to the snake. "So... Talking to snakes huh." I hissed at Tom "You have to admit Egle is better company than the others here." he drily hissed "Yes, of course. Never thought you were a social butterfly, I guess I'm just that good of a fellow." hissing at Tom's face.
The taller boy threw dirt at me laughing "Don't flatter yourself much Peverell." Oh he asked for it "Your going to miss my winsome humor." Throwing more dirt at him. Oh how I wish it was all rainbows and sunshine, but it never was that easy.
