I let Gerard hold me for awhile and heard a muffles noise come from him. The little noise repeated itself multiple times and I noticed he had begun to cry.

I pulled away from him a little and wiped the tears from his tear stained face.

"Gerard, everything's been about me lately. But you've been fighting your own battle lately. What's really been going on?"

He sniffled. Aww, my poor baby. "Scarlett, I'm scared."

Scared? "Y-you're scared?" I asked shakily.

"I'm scared of losing you. You're my true love. I'm scared that if I leave you alone for a minute, when I come back you'll be dead on the floor. I'm scared that you'll be taken from me." he said with a sob.

I reached my arms around him. "Gerard, I'm never giving up on you. Do you understand?"

He nodded, but the doubt in his eyes was clear.

"Let's just go home and rest. Alright?" he asked carefully.

I nodded and picked myself up and grabbed his arm to help him up.

Gerard put his arm around me and began the walk to his car with me.

I raced the last bit to the car with Gerard. No way was he driving us with having consumed that much alcohol.

Gerard didn't question it and hopped into the other side.

I put the key into the ignition. I couldn't wait for the car to warm up enough for the heat to turn on.

I noticed that Gerard was being awfully quiet.

"What's going on, Gerard?"

He turned his head to look out the window. "Scarlett I just want to hold you tonight. And love you."

I didn't know how to react to that, so I just shut my mouth

I pulled into the driveway of Gerard's house and it looked completely empty.

I looked over at Gerard and noticed he had began to shake. Whether it was from being cold or fearful or both, I had to get him inside.

I pulled on the handle of the door to exit, but Gerard's hand reached out and grabbed my arm firmly.

I let go of the handle and was expecting a kiss, but I didn't get one.

His hand moved down my arm till he was able to lace our fingers together.

He didn't look into my eyes as he reached into his pocket for something.

He pulled out two black and red rings and my heart rate  began to race.

He finally looked me in the eye. "Scarlett, with everything that's been going on, I don't know how long we'll be apart. I want to present this ring to you in a form of love. I love you and someday I will marry you, if you accept. When, I have no clue, but someday, that's what I want you to be to me."

I could feel my mouth drop open. I was incapable of reacting. I quickly shut my mouth and just stared at him.

"W-Well if you don't want to that's OK. It's a dumb idea anyway." Gerard choked out with a broken voice.

Gerard casted his eyes straight ahead through the windshield.

Without waiting another second I threw myself on him. I put my arms around his neck and pressed my lips to his.

I didn't let the kiss last very long and I pulled away slightly. "Gerard, I'd love to be your wife someday."

His lips broke into the most beautiful and perfect smile I'd ever seen on anyone. I'd never seen any smile so genuine and huge.

I couldn't help but return the smile just as huge and genuine.

I pressed my lips against his again. Oh how wonderful it was too have someone to hold me. To love me. To belong to someone.
