It started with a carousel

Visiting mom

Mom emailed me today and she was excited because I could visit. I was excited too.

I walked into the building and went up to the front desk.

" Hi I'm here to visit Sharon Eira." I said.

The lady set a basket in front of me. " empty your pockets."

I took everything out and sat it in the basket. She smiled. " Room 210."

I thanked her and walked upstairs to room 210. My mom looked good. She was sitting in her bed watching tv.

When she saw me her eyes lit up. " omg Launa! Honey ohhh I miss you so much."

" I miss you too mom." I said.

She looked at me. " how have you been?"

I smiled. " good. I've been working lately."

She rubbed my hand. " I'm so happy for you."

" thank you, mom." I said.

She cleared her throat. " so any cute boys?"

I looked down.

She looked at me. " oh no honey."

A tear escaped from my eye. I hated crying it made me feel weak and vulnerable.

" I met this guy named Ryan and at first I thought he really liked me. But every time we kiss, he freaks out and tells me I should stay away and he never texts or calls for days. And then he sends me gifts to make up for it." I say.

I noticed my mom had her eyes closed and she didn't really look like she was breathing. I shook her hand. " mom?"

She didn't answer. " mom?" I said louder.

I was freaking out.

"MOM!" I yelled.

I couldn't move.
I couldn't talk.
I just stood there.
The doctors were telling me that my mom was dead.
I didn't want to believe them.
I was just talking to her. Literally.
" so you really don't know what happened?" The doctor asked.

I shook my head. " no. I was t-talking to her and then I l-looked and she was c-cold and s-stiff."

The doctor sighed. " well we will call when we find out more, okay?"

I nodded.

I heard my name being called from down the hall.

" Launa? Are you okay?"

I looked to see Rachel standing behind me. I fell into her and started crying. Not just crying, I was screaming. I missed her.

I don't even know how this happened. I was just talking to her.

Rachel rubbed my back and let me cry. She even started crying.

Some people stopped and watched as I cried and I heard a familiar voice tell them to go away.

I looked up and saw Bex standing there.

She smiled. " I'm sorry Launa. I really am."

I smiled to the best of my ability. She bent down and sat in the floor and she hugged both of us.

She made me feel so much better. They all did. We were in the waiting room, I didn't want to leave yet.

They said they'd stay with me.

I absolutely am so happy I found them. They make me feel happy and loved. I will always be apart of their family no matter what.

Lina shut down the cafe today just to be here with me.

I am so thankful for all of them.

I decided to get a little rest. I closed my eyes and fell asleep in the chair.
